Actually, I love the smart TV integration. You can connect your Apple AirpodsMax to the monitor using Bluetooth for a fantastic sound. Using Bixby for switching game mode on/on opening settings or switching inputs is very useful. I you own a Samsung phone, you can use Samsung Dex. Many possibilities are attached to the Smart TV, people are just sleeping on it and crying. I love and enjoy mine every day.
what calbe did u used for the mac studio? i connected via usb-c and colors dont look good. with the mini dp provided on the box with my windows machine the colors look amazing.
Been debating between getting this and the AW3423DW. Any reason i would ever need a gsync module with a 4090? AW is $100 cheaper currently but the Samsung looks a bit more appealing to me
Well sad that you cannot use it full screen on youtube etcc. So whats the use of this widescreen? I also want to buy it but have some question marks :/
Hello! Great review! Got a question, I read a lot about color fringing on this monitor. Do you think it would it be wise for me to purchase it if I'm going to use it for desktop work like Microsoft Word and Software Programming? (Besides of gaming use of course) Is the issue noticeable? Or maybe I would be better off with an IPS ultrawide?
Not to mention the privacy policy states they have the right to intelligent scan what’s being displayed on your screen to “offer better services and experience” aka steal your data and what you watch
How did you connect your Mac to the monitor? Did you use a USB-C cable or something else? I'm curious if I can use my MacBook Air M2 with the Thunderbolt cable that comes with the Studio Display to achieve full resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate with this monitor. Can you confirm if this is possible? Samsung helpline was useless and non of the stores nearby has one for demo so man i am just so screwed confused.
Same, i see a bunch of reviews on the samsung site of it having weird issues but i wanna buy it with the samsung care+ and see what happens. From what i’ve seen it seems really good but i’m also suspicious with all of the bad reviews
Hello thanks for your review. My only concern for this monitor is brightness. Have you noticed anything disturbing you while gaming or working in the morning? Preferably when the room is bright? I’d be glad if you could share your honest opinion. I’m currently using lg38gn and thinking to switch to this just for being oled. I still have concerns. Thank you
I purchased mine a few days ago, and I got to say that you have to understand the monitor capabilities to get use to it. For example is less bright that my Samsung 27 inch odyssey made of IPS but, the contrast and color are so much better so there is no need to max the brightness to get a sense of eye comfort without sacrificing the image feedback you get from the G8, obviously maybe the weakness is the image quality for daily PC activities vs gaming / content, which I can rate it super nice vs impressive respectively, but what I could experience is that I can work all day without feeling my eyes tired ( I usually use computers from 8-11 hours a day between the laptop from my job and my Gamer PC). Finally something I didn't like it that the apps integrated on Samsung Tizen does not support 21:9 and the zoom option is unavailable when you are using it (Netflix, prime video, TH-cam) so if you want to use the full monitor 21:9 ratio you have to use the apps from an external source (PC, Chromecast), if not the image ratio is limited to 4:3 😪
Also a disadvantage is that you have to buy separately all the video cables because of the mini DP/micro HDMI option that the G8 support, my recommendation is to buy a mini DP to DP 1.4, a micro HDMI to HDMI 2.1( both cables for PC and console), a micro HDMI to female HDMI conversor for secondary source (Chromecast or tv box) and a USB c thunderbolt 4 240w for laptop.
@@ahmanguzman5441 it comes with a mini dp to dp, most people are to be using that with this monitor. It does suck that they are not normal sized but for the majority of people it will come with what you need.
So I found a fix. Apps like chrome and spotify have the ability to increase text size in the view tab, so I changed it to my preferred viewing, and it looks fantastic. Makes the monitor look 4k. Some apps don't have this function and text can be a bit small, its worth it for QDOLED
Hey man great review. Just found your channel, what do you use the monitor for? Looking to upgrade my monitor, for graphic design and photo editing and was wondering if the colors accurate enough? Also using a Mac so curious to see how the weird the scaling is.
Ah thanks bro. The coloring is fantastic, I've never seen such a perfect monitor in terms of color reproduction. The scaling means that you can fit a lot on screen but it does make you have to occasionally squint. The solution is to increase text size through settings and fixed this for me. plus 150% scaling in chrome.
How is the monitor for productivity use? Is there the text fringing issue that is present on other monitors using similar panels? Does it work well with macOS?
I had to return it, worst text I have ever seen on a Mac… I got headache, even other QHD monitor were better. This is especially a problem on M1/2 Macs because this UWQHD resolution doesn’t have HiDPI

It's legit brightttt, like in sdr I feel like this is above 400 possible 500. It's brighter than my tab s8 plus, and the contrast improves perceived brightness. I'm a nit nerd too, but this is legit great.
Nice man glad it worked out for you but for me I'm so so daring the aleienware 34 inch oled had 100 nits or the Samsung neo g8 which I think both are around the same price as yours but yours does look better aesthetically though
@@IwinMahWay It’s actually about the OS. Samsung notoriously bricks devices and fills the interface with ever increasing ads and spyware. Apple’s entire brand is clean and unobtrusive. And Samsung is terrible about warranty, and Apple is generally very good, you can now get yearly Apple care and you can have a warranty for a decade if you wanted. Older Samsung TVs were great, and then they added do much bloat I had to use my Xbox or computer to find content instead of the TV. dear sir. is that something wrong with me, or the white (metal-like? plastic) bezels all across 4 sides of the screen are insanly distracting and looks like a completly unnececary idea? Srsly, this would drive me nuts by looking on this on a well light room, but in a dimming enviroment like i saw on your video, hmm...it doesnt look that bad. Is that somewhat distracting - doesnt it bother you?
I hear you, but honestly it is more noticable over video format. I have not even noticed it until you just pointed it out lol. The monitor is very premium and I actually like it. The bezels are black for half an inch around the display, so that silver metal edge is actually aesthetically pleasing.
