It's interesting how you describe your experience with the song. For me it always sounded chill and dancing like. I like this live version but definitely I prefer the album version.
I get yah. The album version over your speaker, especially in a car, is more subdued. Sucks you in. This live version is less like that, and feels more upbeat in a way.
Hearing this low tech version has helped me realize something about this song -- the bass line is a sped up version almost note-for-note of the theme from NIN's "The Downward Spiral".
I imagine this is closer to how the song sounded when it was first written, and it's testament to Radiohead's genius they can switch it up like that. Both versions have their own unique energy which makes them interesting for different reasons.
I've seen this video so many times that I can recreate it without seeing it in my mind, how thom Yorke removes the sweat of his brow and dry it in his shirt. I love Jim
I feel like the live version of Burn the Witch will evolve the same way this song did live, judging the 2011 version. Killer arrangements on the both of them, but the 2011 version is much more true to the studio cut, which I like the best, and I'm hoping for them to nail the atmosphere of Burn the Witch as well in the future. Let's wait for a couple of years, hoping something will come.
i saw them in 2001 twice and i like this version the best...the fuzz bass is what makes it and its just not there on the studio release....everything else is there if you listen close to the studio version
[Verse 1] After years of waiting nothing came As your life flashed before your eyes, you realize [Chorus] I'm a reasonable man Get off, get off, get off my case I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case [Verse 2] After years of waiting After years of waiting nothing came And you realize you're looking in, looking in the wrong place [Chorus] I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case, get off my case I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case, get off my case [Bridge] After years of waiting [Chorus] I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case, get off my case I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case, get off my case I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case, get off my case I'm a reasonable man Get off my case, get off my case, get off my case
I love everything about this version, EXCEPT that the full substitution of the synth/synth bass with Colin's fuzz bass takes out a bit too much of the depth, so the song lacks 'bottom'. My ideal version would be this, only with Jonny/Thom accompanying Colin's bass with the fat, thick, smooth tonea of the descending synth
This version is...... interesting? I don't know. It feels like the Amnesiac version of Morning Bell. It's just too.... sudden and in-your-face. It just feels... wrong.
No no no, it was a a joke. He's actually my best friend like in real life, so when I was watching this I saw his comment an thought I'd mess with him. I think at this point it goes without saying I didn't mean that.
So funky. Interesting, considering how claustrophobic and strange the album version is.
Pisk :)
odd choice of words

See kids, before radiohead made it legal, we used to congregate around this video for our weekly fix of packt sardines.
Hearing this low tech version has helped me realize something about this song -- the bass line is a sped up version almost note-for-note of the theme from NIN's "The Downward Spiral".
I know! How did it take me so long to see it?
also the ending of closer
@jcorb I wouldn't call it plagiarism, this song doesn't sound anything like a nin song. At most paraphrasing
@jcorb its paraphrasing because they sound like different songs
@jcorb They are pure ev...oh man
Love that groovy guitar hook Ed ads in this live version.
really i wanna know , what fx are using him & jhonny

This version slaps so hard it left a mark on my face.
This is sounds like a part of In Rainbows :)
This song is genious
I like this version so much more, it's just so raw and real.
This is a tune but the album version is hard work man
I fucking love this song and this version is something else. Packt like Sardines if it was on In Rainbows
Woaaaaah, this version slaps!!! I really liked their performance here :)))
Ed is a masterplayer
We should celebrate a national ''Guitar Pedal Day'' each year.
Fook
I love them so much
Dat bassline
Yeeeess, that’s it
this live rendition made me understand amnesiac
really cool with that pixelly bass instead of the smooth synth of the album version
I do prefer the album version but this is fucking amazing!
I really like this song!!!

after a couple of years, nothing happened... ; )
After years of waiting...... Nothing came
I hope they nail that synth bass that's in the album version.
chef. They could use Nigel's MS20 for that, Wonder why they don't as Jonny now even plays the Prophet
Love Radiohead, but Burn The Witch is an absolute mess live.
so funky
jonny and ed r such good guitarists
i saw them in 2001 twice and i like this version the best...the fuzz bass is what makes it and its just not there on the studio release....everything else is there if you listen close to the studio version
Straight fire
the live version is much better. love it
I'm laying in bed and my foot got tired moving up and down to this beat
What an awesome sound they had! Thom, what are you looking for? See back!
that colin BAZZZZ
You will never hear a studio version of this arrangement. ;_;
@Andrew Peterson this is a live version
Genius
Is it just me that actually really likes this
Nope I like it too!!!
Me too man
This is bad ass
I think… I think it’s all of us.
Colin went nuts on this
1000 times better live than on the album!!!
I like this version more
@urovii Same with National Anthem, the live versions are so much more energetic and make you want to move.
Nice job Colin, wow..
I much prefer this to the album version

My favourite Thom Yorke Era was 1994 beetwen Pablo Honey And Bends, For Ed And Johnny OK Computer Era, Colin Kid a And Amnesiac Eras.
its like the song was made for another album, you know? in ranbows-esque
[Verse 1]
After years of waiting nothing came

I'm a reasonable man
Get off, get off, get off my case

agreed! ^_^
@Lawrysteak
well the notes do.
Selera tinggi
@HiTechSoul that bass sound
interesting take
@HiTechSoul me too
Its much better than the studio isnt it!
@urovii haha Loved your comment
And I agree with you
I like the live one better. Same with Maquiladora.
Omg! Was that ed's tremolo effects in the background?
Tele Caster starting arround 2:10 is Jonny messing the time in his Space Echo
I think Ed is responsible for the overdriven riff, while Jonny uses the tremolo, Phaser, Whammy and Space Echo
@@Vishnu-xn4vx I think the overdriven riff is colin
@@samley2691 i meant the overdrive guitar part at 1:10.
Collin of course is playing the fuzzy bassline
i do the same !
this sounds nothing like a crushed tin box....
No not merely you
This version is...... interesting?

album version > this....

Yeah, he'd be the most obvious and bad troll EVER if he just insulted my opinion by telling me I suck a lot. XD
But yeah, it was just a joke, haha....
for having an opinion?
pretty groovy version. the album version has a better beat imo though.
