I don't believe they have any legal basis. They gave the money willingly to their "business partners". You don't get your money back when your business fails. The only one that has recourse over Kody is the legal wife, Robyn.

We don't know what legal documents, if any, they had concerning the family funds. There was an LLC in Arizona, but what it says about who controls what and who is entitled to what we don't know. No one in the family is spilling the beans about it.

The good old term "passive aggressiveness" is so appropriate for Robyn's conduct and interaction with Kody on the couch. It's a very telling 'behind the scenes' view. Passive aggressiveness is a very effective manipulative tool for the narcissist.

I think the act was pretending he loved Meri and was still married to her. I also think she made it easy for him. She let him do the bare minimum and still hung around. He was happy to keep up that act and keep getting her money. He also was afraid of upsetting Robyn.

So Robyn says the whole reason she fell in love with Kody in the first place is because he loved his wives so much. He has been stating over and over he faked it all and was never in love with any of them so it was the illusion of who she thought Kody was and not Kody who she fell in love with. Seems like the perfect way for her to set up why she will eventually want a divorce.

I agree Robyn knew from the beginning he didn't love the other wives and also did everything she could over the years to separate Kody from the other wives and his children so she would have everything in the end. I just think she is pushing this narrative of falling in love with Kody because he loved his wives so much so she has her excuse to divorce him and get her big payout. That's when I think Kody will turn on Robyn and say hey you knew I didn't love any of them I was honest from the beginning that's why I promised to leave you and not string you along. It will also be when he realizes he gave up everything for a woman who stroked his ego and manipulated him and didnt really love him and he will deserve it.

For example when Robyn asked her “are u accepting of that?” I suspect Meri laughed because she responded in her head and was laughing imagining how Robyn and Kody would take it. You are really great. A breath of fresh perspective on SW. Robyn is a believer and she believes to get to the Celestial Kingdom your husband has to have three wives. Her obvious depression is because her eternal salvation is at stake. She truly believes that the wives should have stayed for their own eternal salvation. That's why she held on to these wives. The alternative means that Kody will have to take on two more wives and Kody doesn't want to do that. Robyn feels doomed. That's real. Kody is a narcissist but he was able to "act" like a nice guy before. Now- the mask is off and I owe this to hormone replacement (testosterone). He can't hide who he is anymore. I think the 'act' and the 'duty' could be interpreted as 'performing' in bed. But as they haven't had any of that for more than eight years it could just and horribly be about PRETENDING that they are married and ACTING as if there's still hope and doing his DUTY on 'Sister Wives".

I honestly believe Meri purposely had Jen there to say and react in ways Meri can’t, right now. Jen and Meri are playing Robyn and Kody’s game, but better. Yes Meri is concerned and supportive of them, to ensure they are unaware of Meri’s real objectives. She needs to have them both, especially Robyn, on decent terms as she navigates getting her money from them. Catch more flies with bull$(;:

I'm with you when I first starting watching I felt Kody was a good guy and that polygamy was working for them. But
the acting became too hard for him. I feel sad if he was acting for the money and fame. Because if he wanted to show polygamy as something that can work he failed and it is all on him. I don’t think Kody has any self awareness, nor does he have the ability to be self critical. After watching the family on and off for many seasons I think Kody is driven by vanity and narcissism. With regard to Meri’s awkward laugh and reaction I think that both Kody and Robyn have been gaslighting her for years, and what kind of cruel creep says to his wife, ‘I was just doing my duty’. Oh, and I love your funny thing regarding semantics.

I disagree that the “act” is in reference to sex. I think, as Janelle put it, they all had to pretend to be in a committed/loving relationship with each other for the sake of their “religion” and for the show. It was heartless of him to call that out and that is why Christine and Jen were 😮. He’s just trying to point out that he never loved any of them, he kept the relationships against his real desire because the poor men in polygamy have it so hard. And it’s really unfair to these poor men…. Oof hard to not be sarcastic lol. Love your channel!

Imo, this whole "so you thought you were in love" conversation, is Robyn and Kody's doing storytelling lies to deflect and not take responsibility. Much like Robyn does, when she lies and then over explains the lie, this is their way of trying to convince the audience into thinking Kody acted and/or made Robyn think he loved the OG3. There's no way, in 13 years that they've never had this conversation before and they just so happen to have the conversation on camera for the first time. It's Robyn way of not taking accountability for KNOWING Kody didn't want to be with the wives anymore but she forced him to stay with them to keep the show and to keep the money rolling in.

Kody used to be a goofy textbook adhd guy who tried to be a good father and husband but Robyn came aling and robyn decided she deserved more..more of EVERYTHING than the others and he went with it. When the other wives got mad and pushed back he got more and more angry and volatile. He looks like a crazy person. The fact he thinks he is head ofmthat family is hysterical. Robyn literally tells him to stop talking, covers his mouth with her hand, she robynsplains what he "meant to say" . So what he says means nothing. She runs him and that family. Like christine said in the juicy interview she isnt kissing the queens ring or whatever.
I thoght the "act" was his pretending he loved her.

I sympathized with Mary so much. I was in a toxi and bad relationship with one of my kids dad But I stayed because we had a kid together and even though we weren't married, I was like I have to stay with him. He's the kid's dad, I have to do this, and everybody around me was like, he's treating you like poop He's literally telling you. He doesn't give a poop about you. But he's not gonna leave you. Because he doesn't want to be the bad guy. And I did this for 6 years. Everybody told me how terrible he treated me. So I can sit here and see Mary laughing. Because she's finally realizing how ridiculous it is that she put up with Cody talking to her. That way because I laugh now. When I'm thinking back on something and at the end of my relationship when he would talk to me and say his ridiculous things that I used to just accept. I would laugh. I would laugh at his face because I was so surprised that I had let that go for so long. It's kind of like you're laughing at yourself. And you're laughing at the person at the same time. You're laughing at yourself like, ha ha. . I can't believe I tolerated this. And then you're laughing at them like, ha ha. I'm not this person anymore. You're not gonna treat me this way anymore. I know I deserve better now. And I think she wants to show her new friend how badly he treated her. To be like see the poop I was dealing with

I didn't read it as specifically sexual. I thought he was talking about doing "husbandly things" the same way has differentiated between doing loving things because they were expected and actually being in love. When he talked about the sacrifices he made to love Christine, he seemed to be talking about the performative aspects of being a spouse, like holding her hand and paying attention to her. Kody thought he did a great job of "acting" like a husband and doing his duties, but the wives all recognized that his heart wasn't in it at various times. His crap job of performing as a husband in later years is part of the reason that they are confident that he wasn't acting with them in the beginning.

I thought the act meant acting like a good husband and father. I definitely did not take it as the sexual act, since he had not been intimate with either Merri or Christine in the number of years. He was saying it was easy to pretend like he was in love with his wives and put on that act. The problem is, of course he stopped being loving towards his wives for at least 6 to 8 years. It’s a matter of time before he turns on Robin. He’s an abusive man. He emotionally abuses his wives. Even though he seemed joyful in the beginning of the series, if you listen to his words, he’s saying the same thing, he just is now angry. He absolutely will never take accountability for his own actions.

I think that sex was only implied as part of the larger set of duties a husband has.
