    Thanks for this. There is still confusion over here in the UK regarding the correct lubricant for the power safe machines and they are still supplied filled with a hypoid oil (you can tell from the smell). This seemed totally wrong to me and I'm glad to have your information on the correct grades.

    Not only is it difficult to get at the filter without removing the wheel on that side but it's also difficult to get at the cap without the appropriate socket wrench without removing the wheel on the other.
    Afraid of stripping the cap with my adjustable wrench, I removed that wheel in order to use my 22mm tire iron. This worked fairly well until I removed the second wheel in order to access the filter and my supports failed. The result, a big oily mess and a fair amount of heavy lifting. Glad I wasn't on camera. I recommend you do yourself a favor and get a jack and socket wrench like the guy has in the video. I've made a note to myself to do the same before trying this again.

      The filter on model 739 is for the transmission fluid. That's what this video is covering. Cheers

    Sorry, but I really want to understand exactly what you said. You are saying at the 1st 30 hour filter change, we do not have to change the fluid. At the 130 hour mark, both filter and fluid are changed. Please confirm I understood this correctly

    Hi, I have the bcs 740 with yanmar engine. The clutch will not engage completely. Will doing a fluid and filter change help that or do I need a new clutch?

    • @BCSAmerica
      @BCSAmerica  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We'd recommend starting with a fluid/filter change. If that doesn't solve it, we'd recommend talking it to your local BCS dealer for repair.

    Hello, are you sure torque value for transmission bolt is just 13.56 Nm(10 ft/lb)?
    Do you know the oil engine bolt too for honda gx390 mounted on bcs? Sorry for my english, regards

    • @BCSAmerica
      @BCSAmerica  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, 10 ft/lbs is correct.
      For the Honda oil drain, it would only need to be about 5 ft/lbs. Essentially, tighten with a wrench, then give it another 1/4 to half turn.

    Are you sure it's correct to use oil SAE 15w/30? BCS italy raccomanded Powerlube GL5 SAE 80/90 and only for cold climate POWERLUBE W8 BLU GL4 SAE 10w/30

    • @BCSAmerica
      @BCSAmerica  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Massimo,
      This video is for PowerSafe transmission maintenance and it does not recommend 15w30 - that would be the ENGINE oil we recommend.
      For PowerSafe transmission fluid, BCS recommends PowerLube (BCS branded fluid). In the United States and Canada (where PowerLube is not available), please use the recommended PowerLube substitutes that are listed in the video, and in the Service Bulletin that is linked in the video description.
      Thanks!

      uk shows 15w/40 on mine.(BCS740)....dunno if it is that critical fully synthetic, as we are not that cold a climate.......

      @@johnn2882 We bought a 740 a couple of years ago in the UK. I noticed that there was somewhat conflicting information in the different booklets provided with the machine. From the smell it seemed that the gearbox was filled with a hypoid gear oil which, from all I have ever read, is not right for an oil bath clutch. I did notice that, when I hit a very dense area of wet vegetation that stalled the flail the wheels stopped turning but the engine, though lugged down greatly, did not stall suggesting that the clutch was slipping at that point. I have now changed the oil for a universal tractor transmission oil as per the bulletin 2-22 mentioned here. I did deliberately push it into some indigestible vegetation and the engine stalled with no sign of clutch slip.
