This is the only golf channel worth watching for me. Have massively improved in last 6 months. A long road ahead but the way Danny explains it makes sense to me. I know when it feels right
Purely by chance last Tuesday my wife took a photo of me at the top of my backswing down the line. It showed that my swing had flattened so that the club shaft was at 30° to the ground at the top and not as high as I used to have. So up to now I have been trying to work out how to get back to my previous swing path. You have just provided a potential solution. It's pouring rain in the garden right now but, as soon as the sun comes out, I'll be in the net in the garden (with aforesaid wife for photo/video work) to try this out. I fear it will be some time before the strike improves because the flattened swing has had me striking the ball better than previously, but not as consistently as I once could do. Thank you and I hope you did not get too wet doing this video for us.
The golf swing in this video is a testament to the skill and artistry of the game. The seamless execution of each movement is captivating, and I am eager to apply similar principles to my own swing. This video has sparked a renewed passion for improvement in my golf game.
So Danny; I went out and played yesterday after watching this video. Short back swing , short follow through I did this with irons and my driver. Shot the best round that I’ve shot in months. Honestly I was about to give up on the game, I’m seventy years old. I hit my driver consistently down the fairway 220/230 yards. Yes, I had hiccups but I feel like I can still shoot in the low eighties like I did three years ago. Thanks Danny you’re the best!
Great golf swing fundamentals, to recap on. Always an energetic and inspirational teacher, particularly on another wet Saturday morning. Can’t wait to ingrain into my swing. Thanks a million Danny.
This is a GEM,,, has more than one brilliant tips to fix many problems all condensed in one amazing lesson! I have to say of all the many, many golf tips vids I've ever watched this single one tops them all! TY so much DANNY !
Absolutely brilliant stuff. I have just started playing with my 2 sons this year. I'm nearly 60 and they are in their 20's. We have improved loads, mainly down to the Get Good at Golf guys and yourself. I was saying on our last round that we are a couple of centimetres away from improving further, especially our consistency. I will share this with them and hopefully we can knock a few shots off our score. We are going to book some lessons in later in the year to take onto the driving range over winter. Thanks for some great content.
These videos have helped me (in my 70s) make great progress since I started a year ago, along with lessons from club pros. Thank you for all the great content, especially showing lessons with beginners and seniors.
I could have used this advise today Danny. Seem to have lost rhythm with my swing. The cack handed drill is a must and helps immensely. Have a good week
Thanks again Danny. Wish I could come and see you in person for lessons !!! Question…..do these steps and techniques in this video also used with the driver? …. Looks like no wrist hinge ??
I played 18 holes off the red tees, scoring 95..I was tired after 14 holes , made a few more poor shots but my handicap worked out as 19. As an 80 year old I recommend older or injured golfers enjoying a realistic challenge off the red tees instead of struggling off the yellow tees. Obviously if you are capable the yellow tees is the place to be. Next year I will be using a golf buggy for 18 holes. I did not see Danny's latest video until after my tea.
That lesson with Cowan changed the game. I am completely overhauling my swing. It’s not there yet, but I have done it “right” now a few times and it’s the best strike feeling I have ever had.
Thanks for this new lesson Danny which builds on the past few lessons esp the Pete Cowen drills on solid right arms for solid contacts. Til the next lesson
Thank you!!! I just started taking lessons and this is spot on for me! I've quoted u a few times already during my lessons. Not sure he appreciates it. 😉But you are really helping me!
My ball striking is getting better and my handicap is finally coming down. Had the best round of my life last week and my kids didn't believe it (but luckily I had a witness). All the credit goes to you. I just have to be more consistent. Keep it up!
Danny, many thanks for this week's video. I took this to the range this afternoon, as I realised that l needed to implement your "step 1", as this was something I hadn't picked up on. It really made a significant difference! So again, thanks for being so good at what you do, the way you break things down, and the quality of your videos, the graphics overlays, and how you describe the motions and feels. This has helped me feel like I've really turned a corner in my journey back into golf after a 15 year break!! Thank you so much.
I do a back and forth motion with the Orange Whip to really drill this in. Until this year, I was starting too steep and coming over the top on every swing. Drilling has been helping me keep the feel of staying on that 45 degree plane
Danny, I’ve been using this drill for a few weeks now when you mentioned it a few videos back… It’s really been working well and helping with my irons… Thank you
I won my first monthly medal at my new club recently and I attribute this to your brilliant tuition Danny. My handicap is coming down nicely. Thanks once again.
Watched this video this AM - yesterday I could not hit a full swing shot without a disaster - fat, thin, slice … went to driving range after watching the video, and it totally altered my swing pattern, contact - THANKS so much for sharing this (it has changed my whole outlook toward golf)!!!
Great stuff - this weekly training will help anyone get better as it is so coherent week on week. Thanks Danny & team for the commitment in producing this.
Thank you for the brilliant lesson! I am a beginner and struggling with inconsistency of my swing, ball contact, etc. I will definitely take these fundamentals of golf to driving range as well as golf course! Looking forward to your next lesson😘 Your big fan from Japan😉
Excellent video as always! The fantastic editing really helps paint the picture to gaining an understanding of the swing path arch. Very informative. Thank you!
Yesterday my buddies said to me, “whatever you’re doing differently on your swings, you’ve got to bottle it!” I told them it was a couple of basics (tucking the trail arm and creating the 45 degree circle in my back swing) that l learned from Danny Maude. I still have a long way to go on consistency, but I hit two my best shots ever yesterday! Thanks so much for the past month of lessons.
I remember the video you posted where you were getting a lesson...and the one thing your Pro mentioned, was again, shown today...just a tad differently...methinks, in the prior video, the elbows were again cited, but, you also mentioned the placement of...both biceps also being facing out(in this video, both are in fact facing out)...took some time to adapt to this, but the trail elbow much better behaved and shots are spot on...unless I rush it..and then the flight of the ball instantly tells me the mistake...thanks for these tips...
All great and valuable information Danny! I never gave thought to the fact that the golf club is on a 45* angle nor that the swing is on a 45* angle. Now that I know this fact, maybe my golf swing will be more consistent. I like the reverse hands drill which is good for so many things. Good Job Danny! Keep up the good work!!
Brilliant - I know we all have different ways of visualising the golf swing but this is by far the best for my little brain. Focusing on the arc/circle just makes sense to me .....
@DanielMaude when you get back in the studio it would be interesting to understand which Trackman metrics indicate that the swing is on the correct plane.
Hi Danny. I have been a subscriber for a while but deliberately left coaching videos alone this summer to see how I got on. Feel I’ve lost my way a little so booked some lessons locally. However, you are my go-to TH-cam golf coach, so here I am and glad I did. It’s like this video was prepared for where I am atm. Thank you. Also wanted to let you know my previous subscription was no longer live and I had to renew it. Anyone else had this happen?
Another great video! I need to come up with a filing system for all your drills so I can take them to the range and work on them. My latest issue is with my driver and hitting everything off the toe and not getting any distance.
A great video with lots of information concerning the basics which are grip, stance and alignment. Everyone can master these static basics. Keeping the head still is a great tip which promotes solid contact but tge swing begins with the takeaway. Australian golf teacher Ryan Mouque has a video of the best takeaway drill I have seen in the 64 years I have been playing golf.
Hi Danny, It was good to see you this morning working with Richard on the range at Princes. Love your work, and I will look into booking a lesson with you at some point 👍⛳️🏌
Cracking video Danny. Thankfully we have some lovely weather forecast for next week so you won't have to soldier on through the rain for next week's video. Thanks as always and have a great weekend
I just started golfing this summer, had my best range session yet thanks to this video. Your setup tips of arms on the chest and straight with the trailing arm slightly back has helped me greatly in being able to feel like I'm at least getting in the same position and getting a solid backswing each time. This coupled with keeping the head steady and eye on the ball are so helpful for getting any kind of consistency!
Since you feel strongly abut creating the "circle", would you recommend using one of the circular training aids (PlaneSwing or Explanar) that you stand inside of?
We don't know each other but my game has improved an amazing amount over the last couple of years because of your youtube videos. You make everything so easy to understand. So thank you very much.
Danny been following your videos for a while now with a little success. However over the last 2 months I've been practising for an hour or 2 2 to 3 times a week. What a difference. my handicap has dropped from 24.1 to 16.8. I still struggle with the driver being inconsistent, one slice, one hook and one down the middle. This is where i'm losing shots. I'll keep following your videos in the hope it all works. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the swing circle! I was hoping u would do the reverse handed takeaway from Pete Cowan. I can see now how the takeaway fits in the swing circle!!!
Hi Danny loved the information in your video, in fact I watched the other one too with Mr Cowens with the same exercise awhile back now, and yes it does work, and you were right about getting used to it, but when you do its brilliant. Thank you
Great video. My surgery residency buddy was team mates with John Daly at Arkansas. We got into a big money game at a Tillinghouse golf course in the dregs of Dallas and got fleeced by a guy that played cross handed. I shot 74 and my buddy shot under par. The cross hander ( Crews from the Nike tour in the 90’s) shot 65. They followed us to the ATM. Cedar Crest golf course was the home of the 1927 PGA championship. It’s a great little track
Great tips and drill - I used to play cricket cross-handed when I was at school (taught out of it by our cricket teacher) so I should be good at this !!
Danny, this ladt video was the keystone. I hit many excellent shots, including a 170-yard 6 iron shot from the rough against a stiff breeze and over water in font of the green, flushed to 10 feet. 😊😊 thanks again, Maestro.
Danny this video is great, since I’ve become a subscriber it’s been obvious to tell you know exactly how to explain in detail to someone having an issue, and you always seem to release the videos I need and describe exactly an issue I’m having to a T. Thanks for what you do!
Fantastic video, Danny! I'd been working on my stance alignment and wondering why I still can't draw the ball when I want to. I think I've not even considered my shoulder alignment. The tip about having your trail arm tucked and the lead arm visible from behind was a real AHA moment. Fixing this and practicing it until it feels normal will free up my head from so many useless swing thoughts.
I’ve been leaking shots to the right of late however I’ve been to the range this morning, kept my right arm in as you suggest and it has sorted everything out. Moreover, it has done so much to improve my strike resulting in more penetrating shots. Thank you.
I agree, that cross handed drill might be the best drill I have ever come across. It almost forces you into the correct positions and then you can get a sense of what right feels like. I almost want to try and play that way lol.
The water out of the ear tip is solid gold for me. As always, thank you.
Pleasure chris
This is the only golf channel worth watching for me. Have massively improved in last 6 months. A long road ahead but the way Danny explains it makes sense to me. I know when it feels right

Pleasure, I was suitably soaked by the end

The cross handed drill is one of my favorites period. It really encourages a full coil and solid swing path. Great swing Danny
Thanks Michael
Wonderful Daniel, from start to finish, thanks a lot for sharing. (I will put it in practice today)
Happy to help Jose 😁
Wish everyone were as committed to their job as you, Danny. Thanks for the great lessons.

Thanks again Danny. Wish I could come and see you in person for lessons !!! Question…..do these steps and techniques in this video also used with the driver? …. Looks like no wrist hinge ??
Yes, absolutely Allan
Quite a few of your videos have helped my game - but THIS ONE!! - amazing. Brilliant work.
Great to hear Chris
Thank you for your excellent advice.
Some serious practice will be needed to reap the rewards.
How’s your golf Alan

Awesome to hear James
I will just start to play this video before each game. It’s so on point and makes such a difference.

Great lesson Danny! I love the visuals especially the water out of the ear! Love it!!! 😊
Thanks so much!
Excellent set of drills. I'm working with a Junior Varsity and beginners golf team - - - we will incorporate theses tips next week.
Glad it was helpful!
Great stuff, really helps understanding the golf swing on a fundamental level.
Great to see most of the key backswing points explained so well in 1 video. Have saved this one 🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful Michael

Well explained tutorial Danny, thank you.
You're welcome!
And always stay connected. That's about the #1 thing I need to remember
👌
Brilliant! Watching Mr. Maude helped me go from 110/120 to last five rounds of 18 were 95 to 92. Been playing for a year and a half.
No matter the weather, you can always count on Danny helping the community getting better at golf :D
Thanks Bech

Thanks, will do Paul
Great job Danny especially in the Beautiful British Weather.
I really appreciate your videos 🙏
Great video Danny as a senior golfer slowly getting my handicap down ,now at 20 your tips are a great help😊
Again great tips to improve your swing. Danny's explanations are very doable for the amateur golfer in all his videos.
This is a tremendous help Danny. Can't wait to give it a go at the range. You rock.😊
