Sidenotes: I'm playing through this again on the highest difficulty just to pass time while waiting for God of War 3 and Perfect Dark to come out. This game is amazing. In my opinion, the best hack-and-slash out right now. That may change on March 16.

Nothing kills me more than the screaming when he is attacking the demons , this is one of the best games I ever played.

The fact that he says "sniff again" only makes it cooler, as it shows he's completely undeterred by the horrors of his past.
It's not that he doesn't care what he did, the tapestry sewn onto his chest must hurt with every exertion, as a constant reminder of his wicked actions.
It's that his sense of duty to her exceeds anything about himself
I love this boss's quotes. They make him so much more amazing than just some blind giant. Although I find it funny that you're to be judged by someone who sees fit to wear corpse as a necklace(even if he's blind).

One of my favourite bosses in the game. Shame this game is so underrated, people gave it shit because of it being a god of war clone, but it's a fantastic take on the divine comedy.

Why is the copyright thing based off god if war 3 when this game is Dante’s Inferno?
Something I don’t understand, the damned guy who was being judged, why didn’t he try to run away or hide before Minos grabbed him

One thing kind of puzzles me throughout this game. How can you kill what is already dead to begin with, let alone, damned for eternity?
It's clearly not logic based
Possible explanation, heavy spoilers: at the end it is revealed it was all a ruse by lucifer. Dante didn't defeat death, just died. Lucifer needed someone to go to the center of hell and release him, and had tried with several other knights before, but none made it to the center. Lucifer helps Dante all along and creatures are defeated by his almost-almighty power, but they do have to put up a fight or Dante would notice what the whole thing is about. At the end Lucifer laughs at how Dante actually believed a mere human could get that far by the power of love when he could have crushed him at any moment. Then Dante reveals he has incidentally become a very powerful being during his journey through hell and can actually fight Lucifer himself.

As far as Christian beliefs go (that this game's "mythos" is loosely based on) there is believed to be *two kinds of death.* Your first death is your body's end, (succumbed to old, violence, accidents and etc.) *the second is when your soul has been eternally separated from God,* usually the latter means being damed to Hell. (Not very pleasant..) Now in Christianity the body is seen as merely temporary, your just passing through this physical world, a "pilgrim" of sorts. *The soul is believed to be everlasting, it CAN NOT BE DESTROYED...not even the devil himself has the power* to completely shatter a person's soul, *tormented sure but can't be eradicated.* (that is what many Christians believe anyway)
...So to answer your question think of souls and demons deing as either being severed (if punished) from God (an impossibly great divide) and even Hell forever, or (if purified) mayve returned to God's light. (purgatory maybe??) *Like take "death's" pleading when your about to "kill" him, It's not so much of a fear of deing as more of a fear of the unknown, beyond even Hell what else could there be? Nothing, something MUCH worse, complete oblivion?!* No one knows save for capital G himself. (and he's not one for sharing such info apparently..)
I guess you'd have to think of it like this; *Would you rather spend an eternity in Hell, tormented but assured continued existence in some form (though a VERY unpleasant one..) or take your chances with the unknown by somehow "killing" your soul?* I dunno...that's a tricky question, one I believe depends on the individual.

Welp....no more judge of the dead in Limbo, guess everyone just stays there from now on.
