      @Beauty Oliver My first video game was Lego Batman. I've always loved lego and gaming. Lego + Nintendo is practically a dream come true for me. The fact that they made a Lego NES just means that there are more possibilities of awesome gaming consoles being recreated as replicas in a new and unique way.

    • @jacksauce
      @jacksauce 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Beauty Oliver Dadgum. Well for starters, you and I actually have in common that we are both technically on the Spectrum(although this has little relevance to the discussion so it's neither here nor there). I'm currently 18 and I see lego more as a collectable than anything else. I don't treat it as a "toy" rather a buildable model to display on a desk. To me it's no different than a Funko Pop. Both serve the same purpose in my eyes.
      I can agree that it is pretty odd to see hyper-affectionate fanboy adult fans of the company. Especially ones who actually buy the sets to play with rather than to simply display. I'm not really judging them, because what they do shouldn't disturb me, but yeah, odd.

    Built this one myself and it was a blast. They really did put a lot of detail into it and the mechanics behind the slot mechanism and the TV are amazing. But for like 5% of people out there, this is a dream come true. If they can stock it fast enough, Lego's gonna make a boatload of money on this at the holidays.

    I do genuine Lego sets but I've also done some mini or nano brick sets of Mario, and one of Yoshi. I think 1750-2000 mini pieces each. Super awesome for display, the instructions have the arrows you wanted, and absolutely a pain to keep track of all the mini parts. Took days, in sessions. But worth it once complete and with the mini ones I find it very relaxing, it forces me to concentrated. They also have all the other characters and variations of mario in different suits.

Took me a little over 10 hours to complete this one, but I also didn’t entertain anyone with a stream for any of it. Glad you enjoyed the end result even if Lego building isn’t your regular thing!

    I build a bunch of mini LEGO knockoff toys of characters and they have a great system of not only arrows but once you’ve finished a step it shades out the parts you’ve already finished. I’m looking forward to getting this eventually but it’ll be like my Pikachu Village set I have it’s gonna take me a long time to get through.

    16 hours is kind of hard to believe, you must have been working reaallly slowly. This was my first Lego set in 14 years and it only took about 8-9 hours

    I love the process of building a Lego set. What I hate is how much the larger sets cost. That's why I've only bought one larger set and that was the BB-8. That took a while to put together but it was really fun and it looks cool! But yeah. The prices is disgusting, the build is fun.

    Seems like we pretty much have the same attitude when it comes to Lego. I marvel at the fact that someone was able to design this and looking at a completed build is fun for a minute. It's not worth the cost, work, or the time (which I don't have in the first place).

    I’ve been building Lego since 4 I think so it took me a couple of hours to build it, roughly like 2 hours for the NES. It was definitely 90 minutes due to I had the whole movie Mitchells vrs the Machines in the backround, + Reddit videos. I think it took me 3 hours for the CRT, while I had a Mario Music compilation, but I did build bag 9 and 10 at the diner so maybe it took me 1 hour or 30 minutes more... also I did this at the age of 12 so that’s pretty good for my age.

    i think it's a cool project to do with your kids or maybe an older sibling with a younger sibling. when i was like 13 my older brother came in town and gave me a model corvette to put together. when he came back in town a few months later he asked me for it and told me to come outside. he had a real corvette in our driveway that was the same one as the model i put together.
    you could do the same thing with this, help them put it together, then give them an nes classic, or just an actual retro nes if you have one to play games with.
    the set itself i don't think kids will appreciate it after it's put together. besides the mario toy, it does look like something only adults would enjoy as a display piece.

    Sold out everywhere! I happened to be in our local mall and forgot they had a new LEGO store. I walked in and they had full stock of this set! I’m $250 broker now, but will get some Christmas money and I’ll put this under the tree from my Mom and wife. Love your videos man! You’re hysterical and very easy to relate to. I think I heard Wood Hawker BeatemUps on the stream recording. Big fan of both you guys! I don’t mind the build time either. I like to do an hour or two each night when my 19 mo old goes to sleep. Took me over a month to do the LEGO Voltron set. I enjoy taking the time and splitting it up. Lego makes that easy with the numbered bags too.
