- The progress of building a new dairy farm for 200 cows in the Netherlands. We started on 30-1-2018 and it was ready to milk on 23-3-2019. Those days were extremely busy, but we made something to be proud of.
De bouw van een nieuw melkveebedrijf voor 200 koeien. We begonnen op 30-1-2018 en molken er op 23-3-2019 voor het eerst. Het waren extreem drukke dagen, maar we hebben iets neer gezet om trots op the zijn.

The law has changed about farming here in the Netherlands,the govt is making it hard to farm esp with the nitrogen issue forgetting that without farm you cant eat, greetings from the Netherlands (am a Kenyan too by the way)

@@sorin990 i don't know, this is a guess but it probably cost a lot like millions. For the raising they live in a area with wet soil wich is not good for building. In the video you can see them putting poles in the ground, these make sure the building doesn't 'sink' into the ground.
@@sanderpelgrom8521 Yes indeed, that is true,but they builded the building on a lower part of the land and not on the raised one,that is why i asked
@@sorin990 the barn sits on top of a pit and the fill dirt is the same level as the floor in the barn
Here in Ireland we'd just throw a shed down in the middle of a road and say its a farm
Or we put up owl galvanised sheets that rust to crap and blow off if you farted near it.
Here in Ireland we farming European subsidies and sometimes you got to put a shed in the middle of the road to get that paper

To see those excavators pushing the foundation poles into the ground with ease is very impressive.
Why do they need them so long?
@@DirtyYetClean22 To either reach solid ground, or to have enough friction with the soil so it cannot be pushed down further with the weight of the building.
@@DirtyYetClean22clay ground here meaning if you don't go that far the clay shrinks in when dry and your building will "sink". A good example of what happens is the Oldehove tower in Leeuwarden which was built without using such poles and you can see the tower is as crooked as the tower of Pisa now because the clay ground compacts so you need poles that go deeper than clay ground to make sure that kind of stuff doesn't happen.
at 4:40 its pretty interesting how there are only 3 guys doing the concrete work in America you would see 20-25 guys working on such a pad

WOWZERS! I knew it would be a LOT of work to build the buildings. I never knew how much site prep would have to be done, BEFORE the first building erection would commence!

Amazing video. I dont think people realise how difficult groundworks are in wet and soggy Holland compared to basically anywhere else in the world. I would love to be a fly on the wall to see when this masive investment break even. Good luck , and happy farming.

Did you recieve any subsidies to build this either from your own country or from the EU.. if you did what % of cost did you get. Great build.. reminds me of the updates every three or so days from a drone of the new Tottenham stadium.. Drones have changed the way we look and see things so much for the better. Like when there is a drought months long like a couple years back a drone could spot old settlements because of the colour of the ground.
Never realized that a dairy farm was such a mega project. Video was very nicely done though.

How much did it cost?
I know we are talking millions in € my guess would be around 3 million Euros
you are close. The soft ground makes it pretty expensive with all the piling.

Where are the milking parlor, and given that it’s a brand new farm, and very importantly located in the Netherlands. It must be some high tech efficient milking process that you have now?
I always admired the Dutch the way they decided to completely reinvent their agricultural sector. That was absolutely insane how you changed the entire industry.
And now are the biggest exporter of agriculture in the world!

De muren zijn nodig voor de betonnen elementen om op te rusten, door er een gangenstelsel van te maken kunnen we de mest goed mixen met minder mixers.

Not realy. Its standart if you want to manage so many cows. Thats why Farming is so expensive .
@@xythiera7255 Im from Brazil, the largest protein producer in the world. We farm less expensive due to our climate and mouth of space in a continental country with 4 main seasons n a year. Thats wa the point of view of my first coment.

That is some serious cash. I hope it works out for you all. Also, the color of the blue clay is fascinating as I presume this was all reclaimed land? Also I see the roof has solar, would It be feasible to cover the whole massive roof to generate extra income via the power if you have buy back schemes where you are? I know it's likley going to be 10+ years to pay off the cost but just a thought.

Mud, mud, and more mud. I don't know how you do it. I couldn't. And to be able to afford to do all this work, you certainly must get a good return for your product.
It took 18 years to make this happen so we saved a bit up. We try to be a low cost farm by doing most work by ourself.

all the energy to build that amazing milking barn, separating the cows from the fields, and then all the energy to bring them food and then take the manure back into the fields.. looks very efficient and productive, but wounder how it looks from the energy stand point.. i need to figure that out

My question is, how did you get access to that vast and varied amount of equipment to prepare and built this? I mean telehandlers, tower cranes, mini and standard bulldozers, concrete pump truck, etc.
Is this of easy access to any person, proving the have the money for rental fees in the Netherlands or did you hire a contractor/construction company to take care everything including the equipment?
I'm just curious.

Hahahaha, half of the Netherlands was marsh heck most of the country is below sea level. Don't worry if there's one people that knows how to build on those lands it's the Dutch.

IV bouw heeft weer mooi werk afgeleverd, ziet er netjes uit. Ze hebben bij ons in 2016 ook een nieuwe stal gebouwd
Kan haast geen aannemer tegen op, snel en goed!
@@LexBuisman Goed zal het allessinds wel zijn en het resultaat mag er zijn maar snel? Ook als je al het grond en funderingswerk in rekening neemt is het niet zo snel naar mijn mening.
@@Mike-qv3pz Ik vind een stal en schuur bouwen in 3.5 maand aardig snel zonder heien meegerekend. Er zijn in totaal 1400 heipalen erin gedrukt. Al het grondwerk was voor onze rekening.
@@LexBuisman Zo in detail had ik niet naar de datums gekeken, ik had vooral gekeken dat het 1 jaar en 2 maanden had geduurd.
En als je zelf het grondwerk hebt gedaan kan ik het begrijpen dat het zolang heeft geduurd.
Wij zelf hadden 2 kippenstallen laten bouwen en vanaf het grondwerk begon (aanvoer van ong. 6000 opleggers grond) tot de kippen kwamen duurde 5 maanden.
Het grondwerk hebben we echter niet zelf gedaan, de stallen waren op een helling gepositioneerd dus moest dit opgehoogd en gestabiliseerd worden tot wel 6 meter op sommige punten.
Is mooi geworden ik hoop dat je er veel plezier van gaan mogen hebben +1 sub
