    *Win the Truck here:* raffall.com/363508/enter-raffle-to-win-a-rlaarlo-omni-terminator-brushless-upgraded-hosted-by-beyondrc
    This is still one of the best RC cars under $200 and although its not a 'proper' 1/10th scale it still performs like one!
    Would you buy this or the MJX 10208?

    I appreciate that you don’t take these things to skate parks. Channels like that have their audience, but personally it’s not for me either. I like the channels that show normal driving and bashing on surfaces most of us regular joes drive on. Pavement, gravel, dirt, grass, etc. Anyone can skate park them until they break. But I like seeing them being blasted around on multiple surface types. I liked this thing. Great video.

    I love RC as a hobby. It's a great way of relaxing and getting about when I am not working. I do not understand why people want to destroy their cars at skate parks.😮

    • @beyondRC

      channels do it for views and kids who watch those channels enjoy the destruction. Also having lots of disposable income to fund that kind of behaviour helps.

      @@KeithRichardson-n4x I've never had mine to a skate park but I've built Ramps here at home but never land it on concrete I'm like you in thinking off road should be off road. I specifically bought one (carbon version) just days ago BECAUSE it’s 1/12 sized, and based off your previous review on it 👌. It is a good size for my backyard track. It’s the only truck at this size (that I know of) with a center diff!! (Essential for proper track tuning)
    I’m very impressed with the build quality, components and handling. Love this truck!!!
    Thank you for your thorough and honest reviews.

      Yeah I saw it was $212 again . I’ve had it a while and know it inside and out now . Center diff is a pain but not too bad , f and rear diffs are easy , order some diff outdrives right away though 👍. Prob 30-40 packs before you ll see wear getting bad

      hbx 2996A IS. 12th brushless with centre diff. Its much cheaper then the Rlaarlo and very durable, we have both (well Terminator metal version) and performance wise they are close. For me, the only real durability test is not skateparks. It is the combination of everything. Off-road, concrete, tar, grass, dirt, sand, mud, etc... that's a real test because that is what people with Off-road rc will drive on, you can feel like you can go anywhere because it's Off-road!

    I’m with you mate I do a bit of skate park myself but only the ramps that you can fly out of onto grass, the one near me has grass banks all around so you can jump out onto a grass down ramp with is very ideal. Other than that I have a few self built ramps to do more to scale type jump a real truck could do and I like sliding around in the dirt.

      100% mate. And i have never had a problem other people running at them if that's what they are into. Just doesn't mean i have to do the same in regards to reviews/videos. I'm not here to copy other channels. I have one job. To review a new product presented to me. is a skatepark an accurate and fair test of a new RC car? Absolutely not. Does every person out there run at skateparks? Nope a very small amount in the hobby. The biggest issue i have is the image it shows the younger generation that its acceptable to smash RC cars up which mum and dad worked hard to pay for. I have spoken to numerous shop owners who have had so many kids come in with parents and ask the sales team which is best for a skatepark.. Some large channels have made skateparks so popular/appealing that kids are craving that kind of destruction as it looks fun compared to the softer touch i take on all of mine. Time for change IMO and time to bring some normality back to this fantastic hobby.

    I wish the ESC was tunable because the breaks are too strong. Most ESC come set at 75% and I typically set brakes right to 37.5% for easier air control. Also, I’ve had mine for a few days and it is really confusing trying to set all 5 channels. I made a few adjustments and now can’t get the gyro to work. Almost a very amazing RC for the money but it needs a ESC swap at minimum. And I believe the metal upgrades are perfect for on road and adding a lot of power and running foam tires which they sell.

      Especially trucks with a metal chassis. That's great for durability, but landing on concrete with a flat metal chassis transfers the shock load to the ESC and motor. Bad stuff happens.
      I only take a plastic chassis beater to the skate park, and only with the full knowledge that I may be carrying it back to my car, broken. I might do this twice a year.

    New Follower, long time RC enthusiast. I think that the comparison of the Metal to the Carbon is an unfair comparison if you are looking at speed as it has a lower KV. Also are you sure you aren't running with the throttle reduced? Looks awfully slow in comparison to my Carbon. I do not like the total destruction videos at skate parks either. Size? I think that a lot of companies are close when determining scale and its not that much smaller than an MT10. This one has a lexan not poly carb body so that is a negative. I think you would have better control if you turned on the gyro.

    Personally i hate watching others abusing and not respecting their rc's yes it may help with future builds but most rcers don't want to break them it can get expensive. I have one that looks the same as thatand goes upto 70kmh but it didn't steer properly from the 1st run and after many messages i realised the seller was just giving me lip service and then ebay wouldn't help as they said its been too long. Although they say you should give the seller the chance to redeem then selves which i did. Now it won't even connect to the controller 😢 don't know what to do ?? 😢

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      absolutely. not everyone has the unlimited funds that some people have who can throw endless amounts of cash on a smashed up RC car. Also some channels forget how influential they are and showing the younger generation of today that this kind of destruction is normal is so damaging. I am a parent myself and my 6 year old drives the same way as me as i have taught him to respect his stuff not go out of his way to destroy it! Have you tried contacting Rlaarlo directly?

      @beyondRC no I didn't as I purchased from ebay seller I sent them the all the proof they requested but they went quiet on me. I couldn't even find the seller to warn others and add a bad review. Annoying! Thanks for the reply btw always nice to be acknowledged:)

    Skate parks are the most fun spots to drive if you have some self control. I rarely ever break anything when I go. And when I do, it's quite minor. But it's honorable to avoid them. No need to risk it if you don't want to!

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I dont have an issue with people running their cars at skateparks but i do have an issue with fellow reviewers doing those durability type tests which are so pointless and just done for views and destruction. So many cars have been labelled as bad this way which is not acceptable. As reviewers we have to look at a product from every angle not just durability. I have driven RC cars in the past which are not durable at all but super fun and enjoyable. More to an RC car than all out durability. So many factors to consider which always get missed in the interest of 'getting views'

      @beyondRC yeah 100%. But when done right, they are a great test. On an even playing field for sure. And not "Talbot" style lol. Stuff just breaks no matter what when you full send every jump

    I share your point of view on skate parks, to me its just silly.. You wouldnt review a new Tesla, say its great on road intended use but it was a crap off road rally car so its scores badly,. RC cars are for fun, some on road, some better off road but everything will break when you crash it high speed at a concrete skate park so whats the point and what is it proving? Its just click bait for other you tube channels. We have a Corally Sketer which is a great off road car, its very durable and we have never had a problem with it, my 6 year old son loves it but I know we would smash it at a skate park no matter how durable it is. Anyway, we have an omni terminator and its a great car, very durable and super reliable, I personally dont mind its slightly smaller size, its a bit lighter which just adds to the durability and it fits in my back pack when we go to the park. We also like the HBX 2996a which we have, same again easy to take out when we go to the park. As I said we love the Sketer but its pretty big and hefty and when we take a few 4s batteries along its considerably more to carry when we go out. So, for me the size is not a problem, its only a bit smaller and it makes all the difference as the car and a few smaller 2700 mah 3s batteries are pretty light. Good video as always. 😁

    Man, you got to stop banging on about the scale size, it's all subjective. Put the typhon grom 1/18 along side most 1/14 and 1/16 scale buggies and it's longer than them. If they aren't directly saying which full size vehicle they are modelling off, just go by dimensions.
