Mad Fik My favorite too. X2 double shot, I think, is also one of the most damaging charged shots if both land. I was disappointed by X3 as it felt like a step backwards, covering more screen but doing way less damage, more like the full spread shotgun of charged shots.
many characters point out that x (and even zero) are old and outdated, but they seem to miss that they can both grow, learn and self improve at an unrivalled pace. i really do think they are growing stronger as the series progresses by their own efforts, and then you add light and wily having left improvements for them its no wonder a fake x couldn't beat zero even hundreds of years later. i grew up with x1, so while its likely nostalgia, nothing beats that roaring stream of purple plasma

Among the SNES games, my favorite shots were in X2: the standard Charge Shot is such a pretty design, and his powered up charge shot is a blast from both arms, awesome. X3 could’ve been cool too, but the powered up charge shot doesn’t feel well executed.

I love how Maverick Hunter X fix the Buster problem cuz I thought oh hey maybe the z Buster will be better in classic Megaman X no it was the same but Maverick Hunter X fixed it up which I really liked
X3 had an overdrive rapid buster giga attack as well. It wasn't as good as the one in X6 even if you can only use that X6 one 1x per stage play and it wouldn't reset on death. x8's Hermes buster with Icarus head part was the best x-buster IMO though as far as x-busters go. Buster plus in x5 and x6 was just a small damage boost, however not in x8, x8's buster plus actually made each shot the next level upgrade As in base level 1 shots the default shot which was perfect for cleaning up small enemies like your old bats and mets with just spamming normal shots. Again unlike base x-pellets if a level 1 charge shot cleared off a foe it would still continue on to the next foe. So each basic shot cleared normal enemies easily w/o even trying. But level 3 shots were the level 2 shot as in hold it and release real quick and you can break through mid sized foes Then the level 4 shot was made into the level 3 shot as in you get the shield breaker shot of default x-buster with just a simple 1/2 level charge on your buster. With Hermes charging super fast with Icarus head quick charge part. X cleared house in that game. You know how fast you could fire off charged gaea shots in x5? Yeah well you can do that again in X8 with Hermes buster and Icarus Head. Shield breaking giant charge shots super fast. The laser of Hermes wasn't that good but having level 4 shots for a 1/2 charge broke that normal game before you even had the ultimate armor. Which I didn't like as much as Hermes buster. Plasma shot wasn't that good in x8 IMO vs powered up normal buster shots and quick charge. But I guess unlimited weapon energy, a busted nova strike, and a foot part with speedster, shadow dash, and jumper parts was a good competition vs the most overpowered x-buster in the series history.

Force armor white was meant to offset the charging issue with PS1 that time. Since X4 didn't have auto-charge like its predecessor (1-3). Force armor Black was meant for crushing toucher mechaniloids or mavericks since it leaves a plasma bolt.
Back in the infancy of SNEX9X sounds like X's buster were far superior than the originals. We're talking way back when Windows XP was king though.. wish I could replicate it.
Nitro/Kevin Gaming The Ron hack edited it slightly so it's more condensed as opposed to to so spread out. It's actually a really great X3 hack that feels like X5.
The buster upgrade for the third armor, blade armor, and glide armor are shit. But the buster upgrade for the falcon armor in X5 is powerful as shit, it kills huge enemies with one shot and it can go through walls.

Now if I were to talk about visuals then x3 charge shot looks the best .Its colourful,reliable and very satisfying to see Cross Charge Shot is even better and looks 5x better .The only downside is its delay in launching charge shot. Gahaha What is that charge shot in X4 Haaahh. He's a kid or some over zealous robot. Also the shots are entirely blue .what a shame . It looks washed out and very cartoonish X8 one is huge though . That gives a impression like something dangerous is about to smash the damn enemies to shreds
Apparently the beautiful charging animation in x4 was removed and replaced with an ugly 2d sprite for x5 and x6 because it was based on a manji shape and thus would look like a swastika to the western audiences. This kind of thinking is beyond me.. when I first saw it all I though was it looked like the letter x charging. When it was removed on x5 I was like this is depressing to watch.
You should show also the not so strong charge shots. You know the green ones. Also, hyper max shot is a hack, it's not the official version. Official version is the same as normal capsule. And Zero Saber is a different thing that you can get without golden armor

You forgot the Level 2 charges for all versions of X. Notably, for X's base armour, at least. There's a level just before hitting full charge.
