Jochen Zeitz, the ceo and chairman of the Livewire, obviously needs to go. Imagine being invested in HD stock and having this guy ruining profits and growth!
Since I was a kid of about 9 and a guy rode his Harley over to show it to my dad I’ve wanted one. But always being out of my budget for one reason or another( mostly life ) I had to settle for motorcycles I really didn’t love the closest I got to a Harley was Norton and triumph until I was 60 years old and I finally bought a roadking which is fitting because I felt like a king every time I threw may leg over that scooter. Few thing in my life brought me the joy that motorcycle did. That is until now. I am an unforgiving type of person. In my opinion Harley has sealed their fate when it comes to my dollars.. my goal was to buy American and I do when I can. I was saddened to find out that a lot of Harley parts are outsourced to other countries but I overlooked that because it was still an American company. But this , this I can not forgive regardless of what they do to try to fix it. So my next motorcycle will be an Indian
Amen, their shipping jobs overseas. I love my Harley but I won't buy another new one. Fire the CEO and Board and your employees will thank you and build and sell bikes like they use to.
Refreshing to hear your honest opinion and staying completely sponsor free. Their apology is like a back handed compliment. They might as well have said, " Bless your hearts, America."
Make Harleys in America and lower the prices so the working man can afford them. Also, quit with this "stage" shit for motors. Bring back the Sporty and the Evo. Higher trim bikes should come with high horsepower motors stock. Also, quit raping us with the astronomical maintenance prices. Dealers should be kissing our asses for the prices we pay.
Exactly how can you lower the price when it cost 10x the amount to produce in America? They aren’t sold directly to consumers, so eliminate dealers? Harley makes the majority of its profits from the 20-30% interest they charge. How can you lower that without loosing money? Everyone says make them affordable but nobody can say how.
@@lookingbehind6335 When a man shows up at the Chevrolet dealer in a new corvette C8 he expects to be treated with dignity, and is. The same goes for Harley Davidson. What percentage of Harley-Davidson parts are made in America? Some are partially disassembled, shipped to Europe or SE Asia, to be final Assembled and sold in those parts of the world, Modern Harleys are only 70% US made parts. If you've been paying attention to what Harley's been doing the last ten years or so on a corporate level, none of these "revealations" are much of a surprise. Love the bikes, just not crazy about the company.
This was, “Shorting Stocks,” strategy. They made money by, “Temporarily Tanking The Stock.” Shorting is, “Borrowed Money,” with no likelihood of HD going out of business.
I just drove by a Harley Davidson dealer in Colorado. I saw 2 vehicles in the parking lot. And 2 guys taking a riding course. This is about right. If one sees any other vehicles in a Harley Davidson parking lot, those are usually the employees. Not any customers.
I drove by our local Harley Shop today when they were out side setting up as they were opening. I was thinking that I feel sorry for the dealers. These are good people that are having to deal with a Woke Corporation and it will hurt these local local people financially.
I sold my last Harley this past February - a 2002 Road King. It was a great looking bike with loads of add-ons. I just got tired of the little items that were failing. Also, the fact that Harley doesn't take care of their known issues - TC cam chain tensioners, M8 oil pump, PA frames, etc. I'm down to just my reliable Suzuki Vstrom now! Harley Davidson needs to get it together now and take care of their customers, not their shareholders!
I was just about to drop a ton of money on a new Harley. When I went home to mull it over I saw all this crap. Immediately stopped looking at Harleys. I won’t buy another Harley till the board and CEO are gone and the company is back to its roots. So never I guess. Not a loss in my eyes.
I didn't think much of the company after they dropped out of flat track racing after such a long history in the sport. When Indian started kicking their ass they just quit.
This has been a strange relationship for as long as I can remember. Dating back to the 60s. You have a group of people who absolutely love this machine. They plan Christmas, birthdays, vacations around it. Even their retirement. They name their children after it. Tattoo it's name on their bodies. Yet hate the people who build them. Not the factory workers of course. The corporation as a whole.
This isn’t the dealers fault either. I can’t tell you how many times someone has called my work blasting us for the manufacturer’s decision. This is a business that I use to feed my family and it for sure affects all of us.
Dealers (not all, but the majority), need to be held responsible for their overpriced and incompetent service departments and mechanics (the mechanics want to to referred to as “technicians), but many are entry level mechanics, just the mechanics at auto dealerships, they are paid by quantity and not by quality.
I’m not biting until the German shoe salesman, and his cohorts are given the boot. I am just as content riding an Indian, or a gold wing. I’m not getting rid of my Harley’s, but I’m also never going to take them to a dealership for service, or repair. For those of you that think that’s not going to make an impact. Service, and repair are the bread, and butter of a dealership. There isn’t much meat on the bone for motorcycle sales. The Mom, and Pop shops are more than grateful for all the new business.
I’m a CPA with 25 years experience and 30 years of riding, the 10 most recent on Harleys. I’ve been to rallys, Sturgis, several over 1,000 mile road trips. I’ll volunteer to be CEO.
This CEO is going to KILL HD. HD needs to fire this CEO and get back to basics and win public confidence again. Makes you wanna go out and buy an Indian.
I do not like what this CEO has done to the motor company! They may have put out a statement that the DEI is no longer, but I don’t believe it. Put the million dollar bogan as the CEO. That dude rides EVERYWHERE. I mean he even took his road King from laidlaw HD down through the Bolivian death road and back! He loves Harleys and rides them A LOT!
It’s as simple as evolve or fall by the way side. In 20 years none of us are going to be buying HDs anyway because we won’t be alive or walking to do so. It’s just business! Get ahead of the curve for the future buyers and riders. In a nutshell budlight was never a good beer to begin with. Cheap beer and cheap bikes are what I grew up on and that’s where I plan on staying, however I’m not the future lol and that’s a fairly smart guy to realize who’s gonna be buying these motorcycles in 20 years. 😂 we hate it now but it’s a whole lot better than everyone riding Hondas and Yamahas
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel! I see some changes coming soon with the CEO and the board. The shareholders will get tired of losing money.

Suspension Ohlins, Cam Upgrade Zippers, Foot Controls Thrashin, Tuner Dyno Jet, Exhaust S&S, Lighting Custom Dynamics, Bars Vindikta Hoopteeze, Windshield Freedom Shields......Shift Linkage Thrashin, ....... My point is.....I'm not complaining about customizing it to my liking......I'm upset that the best and most reliable performance upgrades come from aftermarket manufacturers and Not Harley Davidson.....
As Always, Gixxer Fantastic Content!
You have to get BLACKROCK out of the equation first.
this is the answer, the elite controlling business has damaged alot of companies because of their "scoring system" for companies.
@@joelchambers3087Bank of America controls those boards as they own Vanguard/Blackrock.
Bank cartels. Fight them and end up pushing up flowers.
@@tattoomiked4612 Well I'm headed there anyway, might as well go down with a fight!
BINGO ! Larry Fink, bill gates and their other Billionaire Nazi gestapo evil sick troopers.W.E.F.
I don't understand why Willie G and the family did not keep a 51 percent interest in the company. If they had, this problem would not have happened. You think they would have learned something after the AMF fiasco
Said it before.
"And you thought AMF was bad?"
Love AMF
AMF war dagegen Fortschritt..
Aber einen neuen Willy.G wird es nicht geben....
Rettung nur aus sich selbst heraus
Had very little problem with my 75 Sporty, at least nothing I couldn’t fix myself.
AMF had nothing on this deal.
I remember the fiberglass chairs made by AMF. They did great things with their fiberglass: furniture, saddlebags, tour packs, boattails.
We trust Harley Davidson by calling for the resignation of the CEO Jochen Zeitz and the board of Harley Davidson.
This was Possibly the BEST Video on the Harley Davidson Debockle on the Internet.
Gix, YOU NAILED IT.
Not Only did Harley Davidson bite the hand that feeds it, It added INSULT to Injury by putting out a Lame statement designed to Placate The Toughest, Greatest People on the Planet: The AMERICAN Harley Davidson Biker.
I know this channel generally focuses on Certain Harley Models, their quirks and Graces, but these 3 points had to be said:
1) Fire Jochan Zeitz
2) Replace ALL Board Members
3) Install a CEO and Board who are HARLEY DAVIDSON ENTHUSIASTS.
We Don't want Marxist/Communist/Racist Hiring and procurement policies;
WE JUST WANT GREAT AMERICAN MADE HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLES FROM THE COMPANY WHO'S ONLY CONCERN IS MAKING AND KEEPING THE GREATEST MOTORCYCLE BRAND AT THE TOP OF THE HILL.
Please mention in every future Video how many days it's been that Jochan Zeitz has ignored the call for him to step down.
Cheers!
Greatest motorcycle? I think you mean greatest motorcycle merchandise company.
I think most if not all of us agree very strongly with hotrotts6467 statement above. I was going to say the same thing, but insted of being redundant, I'll second the motion and agree.
@@herpiegerbstick6808
Well, brother, you think Wrong and that's not what I said.
I Said what I Meant: "Greatest Motorcycle Brand".
No other comes close.
If you disagree, that's your prerogative and right.
@@herpiegerbstick6808 😂👍
I think we deserve some kind of Mission Statement from the Board concerning what is envisioned for the future. This would be a good time to return to the “legacy” bikes like the Wide glide and the Softail slim. Those 2 bikes were what represented what Harley was, but were the first to get the axe.
They have done nothing till CEO and any board members that support him are fired
Jochen Zeitz, the ceo and chairman of the Livewire, obviously needs to go. Imagine being invested in HD stock and having this guy ruining profits and growth!
Screw the MoCo. Shop Independent’s. Build your own.
🤘🏽❤
Get rid of ceo and board. They have no clue.
Thailand made motorcycle. Unless the ceo is fired and most of the board is fired they are playing you.
I've had it with harley, bought my first in 1978, just bought a new goldwing. DONE!!!!!!!
Screw the MoCo. Build one. Buy an Indian. Go to the Independent shops. We saved the culture years ago. Remember we are the culture.
Facts.
Since I was a kid of about 9 and a guy rode his Harley over to show it to my dad I’ve wanted one. But always being out of my budget for
one reason or another( mostly life ) I had to settle for motorcycles I really didn’t love the closest I got to a Harley was Norton and triumph until I was 60 years old and I finally bought a roadking which is fitting because I felt like a king every time I threw may leg over that scooter.
CEO has got to go, that's the very minimum. Board members should be replaced also but we know that's not going to happen.
Debadging their bikes but still riding them lmao 😂😂😂
And one guy shooting up a 40yr old bike.
Amen, their shipping jobs overseas. I love my Harley but I won't buy another new one. Fire the CEO and Board and your employees will thank you and build and sell bikes like they use to.
I fear that even if the president and board are ousted, they’ll all receive a life funding severance package and learn nothing.
They just wanted people to shut up. They’re not backing off of anything.
And I agree with you, they blamed everyone…but themselves.
they can't back off
groomer's gotta' groom.
If the dealer is nothing more than a place to fleece you of more money after the sale… and decline your warranty work. I’m gonna hold off for a bit before I pull the trigger on a new bike. I don’t really want an Indian, might have no choice.
The Board and CEO need to go, and they need to stop the plan to sell NON-USA made bikes in the USA
"Sorry, Not Sorry. We'll just call it a different name and keep on doing it."
You know the "Bud Light" thing? People just bought the other names from the same company! It was only the bad PR/ Noise they didn't like.
It's never what is said, it's what is done that matters. CEO and Board has to go, they have shown their colors and need to go
Stop buying new Harley products…buy used
DON'T BUY ANYTHING HARLEY DAVIDSON PRODUCES OVER SEAS
That means you can’t buy a Harley at all. Just because they are assembled in the USA doesn’t mean they are made in the USA.
Nothing made overseas? That's almost all on display in the apparel and accessories department!
Okay, don't purchase the bikes they are building over in another country and shipping back here 🙄
What percentage of Harley-Davidson parts are made in America?
Some are partially disassembled, shipped to Europe or SE Asia, to be final Assembled and sold in those parts of the world, Modern Harleys are only 70% US made parts. Frames, engines, gearboxes, clutches are US made, but forks are Japanese; modern EFI is British Delphi.Aug 26, 2022
I agree Harley-Davidson brought this on themselves, Surley 100 % CANNOT BE TRUSTED !!! CEO HAS GOT TO GO !!!!
If you've been paying attention to what Harley's been doing the last ten years or so on a corporate level, none of these "revealations" are much of a surprise. Love the bikes, just not crazy about the company.
Correct. And most people now are slowly awakening from their slumber and starting to properly engage with what is going on within the country.
The board will never vote themselves out. Harley is dead
The Harley CEO that received $43,000,000.00 last year. Paid by loyal customers.
Another reason to never get any name brand tattoed on yourself...
Made me laugh. . .
Harley sales have dropped 50% since 2013. The average rider age is 51. The current fan base just isn't delivering new riders or sales.
We want good products, not bad policies.
Just make the motorcycles and not get in in all this crap.
Gixxer your spot on Bro. That's the same way I read it. They need to loose that CEO, and that board, and get somebody more like Willie G.
The CEO has to GO! None of this would have happened if the CEO wasn’t driving it all to happen.
They need to stay out of politics and focus on quality .
I've been riding Harley since I got back from Vietnam. Over 50 years of awesome accident-free cross-country rides. I'm done.
Great video 100% agree. Get rid of the ceo and the board
I think we're getting close to it with the share holders making an executive decision.
Not any customers.
every dealership I've seen or been to is always kinda dead during the week no matter what's going on lol weekends are different obviously
There are companies who are listening to their customers, such like Indian, Triumph, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki
Back to the Roots,
Amen to that, I would love to see Harley get back there.
@@GixxerFoo same, those rebadged 350cc euro bikes are a travesty
The x350 & x500 Harleys are made in China.
I drove by our local Harley Shop today when they were out side setting up as they were opening. I was thinking that I feel sorry for the dealers. These are good people that are having to deal with a Woke Corporation and it will hurt these local local people financially.
To late they showed their cards already. I’m not buying any of their over priced crap.
The CEO was never a good choice.
They are "sad" that you don't believe in the stupid stuff they believe in. They are clowning you to your face.
Harley-Davidson showed their colors, a rainbow.
Yes, the CEO and the whole board need to go. Thanks for all you do!!
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel! I see some changes coming soon with the CEO and the board. The shareholders will get tired of losing money.
HD sure showed their true colours. All the colours of the rainbow. Time to send the CEO and the board packing.
A scorpion can hide its stinger, but it always has one.
It had a real ring of "damage control" - I question how sincere they are about walking things back.
It all started to go downhill quickly around 2017. We've all noticed too late.
