    Really love these fly on the wall peeps into studio time. I’m in construction, I spent an entire season putting up stages rigging for various bands and festivals. Best bit for me was watching them sound check, watching them get every drum violin what ever was needed . Those guys were so interesting to talk to. . That whole music vibe was very cool. Same taste here. Sublime.

    Man I LOVE an old P-bass!! Only thing better is 2” tape!! Lol! I took it for granted growing up interning in a studio with a killer old tape machine. You’re ABSOLUTELY right!! Nothing sounds like 2” tape. The best tonal medium that man has yet to create. Thanks for sharing!

    • @216Numbskull
      @216Numbskull 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Right On! Makes sense to me my friend seeing the sound recording off a 2' tape reflects the same sound dynamics natural to human ear AKA "analog sound." 🙉 Some people feel the sound quality they hear in digital sound has a clear & cleaner sound to the ear, which may be true is some cases. However, they're mistaken to think that analog sound isn't more pleasant to the ear when listening to their favorite jams! No bout a doubt it, cuz there's definitely a difference if they just really sit down & listen for it, ya dig? 🤔 Just saying... +Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend+ 🤘😜🤘

    _"Can you do that thing, you know, that blrp blrp blrp, like you have a towel on the strings? You know what I mean!"_
    Oh, by the way:
    _"When you work at Shannon's place you are taken back in time, hearing the sound of real analog tape machines and using giant racks full of the OG hardware versions of all the legendary pieces of outboard gear that all these plug ins that people use nowadays are modeled after."_
    talk about a kid in a candy store... And this is your job?!?!

    Hey Tom. My dad bought a 1959 P Bass in 1960 from a local music store in Louisville, KY. A few years later he did a show in Nashville opening up for Tennessee Ernie Ford. The bass player for Tennessee was playing through a pair of 1956 Fender Bassman tween 4x10 combos. Turns out he was from Floyds Knobs, IN just across the bridge from Louisville. My dad bought one of them from him. So I still have the 59 P Bass and the 56 Bassman. Very cool. In fact when Stevie Ray recorded In Step his guitar tech called me and tried to buy the Bassman from me but my dad wouldn’t sell it. My dad passed in 2012. I’m glad I kept both of them. The bass and amp are both mint. Glad to see you playing yours.

    12 years ago we were gigging "live bands all day" (all 2 of us LOL) at a large new campground. We had just gone on, and in the first or second tune, and my phone blows up. After 10 or more times I found a moment to look. My wife had stopped at a yard sale. Their was a bass there that their kid had left when he moved out many years ago. My wife said they wanted $200 for it. I looked at the pics, it was a Fender P-bass, Custom Shop w/all appropriate CS markings! I said, pay the man and get it in the car ASAP! All she had left was $146. They took it, and she had it! Beautiful burst, Custom Shop, fretless bass!! I never pulled the neck to check date, it played so perfect! Nobody else wanted it, they thought w/missing frets it was broken! I went back to the older peoples house 10 days later and told them what it was. I also told them if I ever sold it I would give them 1/2 of what I got over $146!! It's not for sale!! LOL My other one is a converted ES type body w/fretless neck. Yuck! LOL That one is a backup now. When I loose the coin toss for playing bass, I have a nice one to do it with!! Sorry so long 8( Peace --gary
