- I recently purchased another Pokemon Emerald cartridge so I can play through the game again without deleting my save file on my current cartridge. Before I delete the file on this new one, I wanted to explore the game and see what this person's adventure was like!

The cloned Pokemon won't affect your save at all, but if you don't want to trade them you can catch a few new pokemon and have those hold whatever TM's you want to trade over. I'm the kind of person that likes to avoid those glitches just because they kind of ruin the experience for me, so I totally understand your hesitation. Your game is totally safe to trade over cloned pokemon, though. It treats them the exact same as any other normal pokemon.
I would also recommend buying a cart dumper like the GBXCart to backup the save, as well as your main cartridge save. I backup the save files on the carts that I buy just as a way to keep their old files alive in some way. I know it's a bit silly, but I have a hard time deleting someone else's file.
He literally said in the beginning of the video that he has his saves backed up on his pc
I appreciate the feedback! I am comfortable taking 1 of each pokemon and some tms. That is really all. Anything that could be acquired in the game once I think is acceptable. I do have a cart dumper! Got save files on my pc with backups! I should do that with this file actually. That is a good idea.
I know how you feel, I just reset someone else’s file of Leaf-green, and they had all there pokemon nicknamed and I did one last sweep through the team and boxes before I reset them, as a final hoorah for all the lost mons. I will never forget the Marowak named “Boner”

If you sell a game, it’s kind of assumed you need to take everything off the cartridge that you want to keep. Because it’s not going to be in your possession anymore.
It’s like buying someones old couch or mattress and finding a wad of cash inside. Finders keepers, son.

Pretty sure a cloned pokemon is treated no different than the original, it is a clone after all. It still registers as a regular pokemon if you trade it to newer generations. Although I'm not sure they can still be moved to Scarlett and Violet
They can, it's a clone. Home has no way of knowing that it was cloned. It's the exact same pokemon as the original legit one down to the 1's and 0's of its code.

We've all known about emerald cloning for almost 20 years. it's really up to you what's justifiable or moral. i personally exploit the hell out of this. once i was able to get every TM and rare item why should I have to work hard to do it again? i have multiple lucky eggs (from XD lucky egg quest), leftovers, master balls etc. but that's just me and how i like to play.

Reckon that as you’ve paid for it mate you’ve got free rein to pinch any mons or tm’s as you fancy. Maybe not the dupes tho but everything else is fair game imo

I think the owner quickly lost interest after abusing the cloning glitch.
I would take the TM's and every item you want but only one of each, like it was pretend to be in that one cartridge. Look for berrys as well 😉

GB Operator would be a good investment if you care about your save and wanna back it up. Just in case anything ever happens to your cartridge. It was the best $50 I ever spent!

I'm sure you know this but if you get an R4 cart for DS you can use to to backup your gba save files using a ds or ds lite. I have a very progressed copy of emerald too and it gives some peace of mind to have a backup

Yo man, big fan of the channel! Saw you picked up an analogue pocket. Would be super keen to get your thoughts on the nostalgia experience of replaying gen 3 on that vs the GBA SP
suppppp I plan on doing a review on the pocket soon! I was going to mention in that video about that experience compared to the original SPs. In short, there isnt really any nostalgic experience with the pocket, at least for me. I prefer an SP with the IPS screen! I do like the pocket tho.
Man! Your IPs screen is not placed orizontally, it is not allined! It triggers me!

Hey mate! Don’t see why it wouldn’t be OK sending Pokémon from that save file to your game. Pokémon has always been about trading, and despite these Pokémon/items being cloned, you’re only taking one of each, so you’re not taking advantage of cloning.
I’ve loved your videos and watched them several times each! I completed my leaf green living dex and needed a reason to come back to the games which now I’m working on a perfect iv team because of you! If I bought that game I would trade over what ever I wanted no question about it. I’ve been breeding Bagon and haven’t gotten the Ivs I wanted but do have 2 outstanding Bagon with 3 flawless ivs. I was curious how you would ev train one with attack, special attack and speed? Would you go fully into two stats or do even evs?
woow you watch them multiple times! Makes me feel good knowing that. A living dex takes a while to complete! Good job. Hope you train some beast pokemons. Outstanding pokes with 3 perfect ivs is really GOOD. I would only pick 1 stat to max for attack. And both special attack and attacking salamences are great. Those stats are both high! In deciding which to train, I would look at your overall team. A special attacking salamence can cover a lot more weaknesses with the moves it can learn. But its attack stat is higher than special.
@@nostalgicnighthawk thank you for the response! I’ve decided to go with attack and speed max evs for my first one and attack and hp for my second one. I’m still breeding for one who’s three ivs are hp, attack and speed. Keep up the great content!

@@nostalgicnighthawk thanks, will do! I’m trying to decide who my next perfect iv Pokémon will be that I breed which will hopefully help with those ice types. Starmie isn’t one of my favorites but it seems like such a good Pokémon for battle frontier I may have to do it.

Is your red SP modded with IPS or is that an AGS-101?
modded with an IPS screen. The original is too dull for vids

You bought it, you own it now. I don't see any ethical problem here. I'd trade all the items over and check the day care, but otherwise not bother with the pokémon unless they are shiny. With the number of copies you have, you can get as many rayquazas as you want anyway. - oh, and why not document your next walkthrough of Emerald? Could be fun

I have no need to buy anymore Pokémon GBA games, but I can imagine buying cart only copies being a little stressful due to their legitimacy 😅
Yes those TMS will save me a lot of time. Yes buying this one was a little stressful. That is why i spend more money because the pictures were more legit and clearly showed the motherboard!
i also worried about a possibly fake deoxys in a ruby cartridge i bought 2 years ago, so i only took TMs that i wanted and deleted the file. rip deoxys😫
its almost impossible to get a fully legit event pokemon tho. I will attempt to give myself the gift soon however its still not 100% legit in a sense.
I bought a fake emerald and i can trade between that fake and a real copy the way i check if it's real i transfer a pokemon to a ds pokemon game if it works it's real if not its usually fake idk if it's safe but i duplicate tm s and my file has been ok for years and i think it's ok for you to take anything you paid probably over 100$ for that copy its all yours i love your vids btw g 👍

Honestly due to it being a glitch within the game I would say morally it’s acceptable. I would argue and say it’s a feature of the base game! 🤝

@@nostalgicnighthawk with my new save file I’ll definitely be using the clone glitch for extra items just to avoid losing items that I would have to start a new save to obtain. I’m not hacking any items in or anything of that nature but the clone glitch will definitely be a feature I use lol
I think it’s safe to do it, however, I wouldn’t just because I try to play the games without glitches, outside of generation 1. I would rather delete the save file and get the multiples without using the cloning glitch, but it’s up to you.
I agree. I am comfortable taking 1 pokemon of each since this person had to train/capture at least 1. However I am not going to take all the cloned pokemon since that is something I do not wish to do.
I’m pretty sure it’s safe, and the amount of time you seem to put into trading stuff over justifies whatever items you can get, in my eyes. If my friend was deleting a save, I would definitely ask for their items.
