Hi Sharyn and John, another enjoyable episode. The flooding was very destructive a very big job to get the river cleared and flowing properly again. How long before you arrived was the flooding. It shows you really have got to keep alert at all times with that loads coming down the road which took up the entire road. When you were travelling on that rough section of road at the beginning of the episode what speed were you able to travel at?
Take care and continued safe travels

I believe the flooding happened in early 2024, but I'm not sure of all the details. Travellers have many opinions about the recovery process and if it is being done efficiently. I'm not sure the truth of it so won't comment further.
That wide load was the biggest we've seen. We had the radio on all the time and a pilot car flashed its lights at us and that was all. It was just two truck drivers talking on the radio that said they were pulling over, we copied and pulled over too. So glad we did.
Sometimes on the corrugations it's better to go a little faster and "glide" over the bumps. Then other times the corrugation bumps are too wide to "glide" and you have to slow down. I think we were happy to hit 50km on the worst sections of that road. The grader was working it's way along and in another week it probably wasn't a problem.
      Have a good week, Sharyn

Noooo such a shame. Loved that you still got out there in a canoe but disappointed for you that it was limited. Great footage of how it is.
Loved the bird shots, as always.
John’s jokes, I think I’ve heard that one before. 🤣

I really need to start keeping a record of John's jokes. What started out as a bit of fun has become a feature that we didn't expect.
I really enjoyed your video tonight.
      Cheers Sharyn

@ I’m thinking that you guys are in the making of a digital download joke book. Keep a record of them and I’ll share with you how.

I worked at Adele’s grove a few years ago, the raw sewerage runs straight back into the creek at the top end of the camp ground. The water in the creek was extremely clean though. You could never go down the creek you could only go upstream for about 4 kms it’s been a shit show for 30 years and even worse since the locals got hold of it 🤷‍♂️. 🤗🐊🇦🇺

Sad to hear your experience. I wish we could have explore more but everything was damaged. Hopefully they recover and the area is better for next season.

Hi Sharyn and John. I see a few more ads have been placed in your broadcast now. Is this because you have hit the magic 1000 subscribers? Hopefully the big bucks are rolling in now, so you can buy a cup of coffee each week. 😊

Hi Greg, yes we hit 1,000 subscribers so I made $2.80 last week. I believe there is a section where I can reduce the ads and of course the revenue. A little new to the new loading format for monetarised section but am hoping next week to take a little more time loading and find the reduced ad button. Hopefully I'll find a happy balance for everyone next week.
      Thanks for watching,
      Sharyn

Went to Adele's Grove in 2010 or 2011, the river was beautiful, but a fire had been through and they were rebuilding. So harsh in the outback.

Yes, the outback is so harsh. I hope we visit again and the area is recovered.

I disagree, I love travelling and especially love seeing remote places of Australia.
