Great video guys , enjoy following your travels. Just a tip with the dust , on the entrance step inside the van I noticed a vent, that needs to be taped up , then the dust ingression will significantly reduce. Cheers Rob
@@360-Explorers Its not sounding stupid at all, its very easily missed. You logically associate the outside of the van as the entry points for dust, which makes sense. I'm 100% sure that blocking that vent will mitigate 99% of the dust inside. I'm glad, I picked it up for you, its the beauty of sharing your great adventures with us. If we can help of both you in your travels , its our way of showing gratitude for sharing with us.
Great Episode How is Stella in the car with rough roads, does the dust cover over the snorkel work well . I hope you get through the Gibb with no damage.my wife would freak out with all that dust in the van, can you put the fan on in the shower to put positive air in the van.take care. And Let’s Go Blue Boys.👍👩🏼🌾🧑🌾🏕️🐶
Thanks Paul. Because we’re not going very fast, Stella is alright with the rough roads. We have calming medication for her too if she needs it. Yes, Sofia isn’t rushing to do the Gibb again, the dust eventually took over lol I wouldn’t think there’s enough power in the shower fan. But I feel like the aircon would work. Just need a bigger inverter. Or newer aircon. The Blues have been disappointing… let’s see how things go today 🤞
Hey Mark, Unfortunately, these are some of the small sacrifices you make having a dog on the road. We unfortunately missed a few things on the Gibb. Made the most of what we could and left enough for a possible return in the future.
Hey Joanne, We were on the Gibb late July. The roads weren’t as busy, but the campsites were. But we had no issues with bookings Thanks for watching :)
Hey Mate ,get a transmission oil change done before you damage it. Ranger transmissions are very fragile, mine has done 160k's and ford recommend to do an oil change. Transmission replacement is around 5k.
Thanks Alex! It’s booked in for a service I’ll get them to take a look at it. I’m definitely caution with all stories I hear. I’ve gotten the dual coolers installed, I’d been keen to see how the oil is going. 👍 appreciate the comment
@@360-Explorers What happens with those transmissions is the torque converter fails, taking the transmission with it. Common in the rangers with over 100k in distance travel
I knew they could migrate and survive in fresh water. I didn’t think they mostly lived in the fresh. Definitely not worth taking the risk. It was a popular swimming spot. Thanks for the comment :)
Hi I have a genuine question, did you do the Gibb because it was on your “bucket list” or because you felt as a channel you needed to do it from a content perspective? I only ask as I can probably count over a dozen channels that have done the Gibb in the last 6-8 weeks and pretty much every one of them pretty much shows the same “must see” places. We are getting ready to retire at the end of the year and start travelling and it’s getting harder to find channels that go to unique places. There appears to be a TH-camr check list of trips to be done. Anyway genuine question and safe travels. Mark
Hi Mark, thank you for the comment. We were in two minds about doing the Gibb, it definitely wasn’t for content… as you just mentioned there are so many different videos covering the Gibb. We spoke to a lot of people on the road, we decided it was one of those things that we had to do at least once and see for ourselves. We looked at the alternative route around on the highway and we felt there was more to do on the Gibb. But yes it was extremely busy this time of year, with all the talk about it. We tried to film it from our perspective, having a dog, and a semi off road van. We missed a lot of the must see places… and we got a LOT of dust in unfortunately. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions:)
We did the Gibb in 2022.. take 10-12 days. Fit a dust suppresssor, drive slow. We are 65yrs+, and had NO issues, and did ALL the gorges. Dont forget the itchell falls extension. Allow 500ks and an extra week. Do it once, do it properly.
If you want to do the tougher tracks, the desert tracks then towing a caravan is not the way to go unless you care not about the caravan. Get a rooftop or a camper trailer.
I agree. The caravan does weigh you down. There’s always a compromise when travelling Australia. It’s been 12 months and I feel we’ve barely scraped the surface with places to visit. It’s insane !
As scenic as it may be I personally don't think it's worth the damage you get to the car and caravan. As for cleaning all that dust out of the van every day would just take all the pleasure out of it for me. I'd rather stay on sealed roads, surrounded with lush green scenery and pull up next to a croc free river and relax on a chair with a drink rather than clean a caravan.
We’ve done the Gibb twice with 2 different caravans, no dust or damage in either. Neither van had a dust reduction system. It’s an incredible part of WA to see, that’s why so many do it.
Yes, other than dust. We had no damage and it was definitely a beautiful place. Hence why we felt we had to see what it was all about. Our van apparently has a lot of open gaps and ventilation which is why so much dust got in. But yes, you’re right cleaning that dust everyday did somewhat take the pleasure out of it… thank you for the comment :)
Just found your channel and have enjoyed watching your vid. However, must say how concerned I feel that several times I noticed you didn't have your seat belt done up. Soph has hers done up, but you didn't, even when she was driving). Far too dangerous! Stay safe. Keep enjoying WA.
Yes, as we were putting the video together we were a bit confused as to why the car wasn’t beeping like it usually does with no seatbelt. Thanks for the comment and appreciate your concern:)
I think the new haircut suits you and it's got to be cooler. Good vid again guys
Thank you! Yes feels a lot lighter and cooler. Appreciate it :)

At the risk of sounding stupid. I just noticed this vent 😧 this makes a lot of sense.
thank you! Will keep in mind for next time.

13.36 the grubby face of Stella 😀
Hahaha she loves it 🐶
Another great vid guys. At least you'll be a bit cooler with the haircut, in the warm conditions, Sam 😂
Thanks Craig. Yes, I must admit, it’s been nice and light and not having to worry about brushing my hair everyday lol appreciate the comment :)
Great Episode

What about Bell Gorge and Silent grove campground. Did you walk to Manning gorge?
Hey Mark,
Unfortunately, these are some of the small sacrifices you make having a dog on the road. We unfortunately missed a few things on the Gibb. Made the most of what we could and left enough for a possible return in the future.
Hair cut looks good my wife all ways gives me number 2 doesn't take long to grow back video good watching
Thank you! Yes I reckon that’s the go from now on. Hopefully Sofia is up for the task again lol.
Can I pls ask what month you did the Gibb as it looked very quiet, where others have said how extremely busy it was whent hey were there.

Love the new hair style
Sofia could cut hair as a side gig
Good job Sofia
Thank you!
I would agree, but I don’t reckon she meant it 😅 but she’ll own it and say she was going for this look lol
You do know that Salties mostly live in fresh water too don’t you 😳🐊
It’s the freshies that don’t live in salt.

Jam first then cream on top
As I read this… it begins to make a lot of sense. I’ll need to try this on the next set of scones! Thanks

We just finished it no damage to car or van
So many idiots on the gibb treating it like it's a highway
No wonder people damage so much
