A cool trick and tool I use from my screen printing background is my T-Square. I go four fingers down from the collar and line up my T square. If the top of your HTV is a perfect straight line you can just push it up against the T-Square and align the middle by measuring or eye ball it.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. To learn more on how to use the silhouette 4 subscribe to my channel. Also. Is there anything specific you would like to learn? I can post a video on that topic!
Importantly make sure you use the correct vinyl that stays on the shirts 👚 this has been my biggest challenge with getting the materials to stay on the fabric once it pressed on and washed as well I have tried so many companies and watch over who knows videos on the best vinyl. I watched here on TH-cam videos that washed different vinyl and the correct heat temperature for each. Another issue I have had was glitter htv I learned you can but glitter on top of regular htv but not so much as putting regular htv on top of glitter. tip glitter htv is cut at 33. Praying this help.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You're very much appreciated. Even tho this vid was made a little while ago, I tried to go get the free svg you linked and it's not working anymore. If you're still offering it for free, and if you don't mind, can you please fix the link so I can download it?
This tutorial is really great and informative. Today I learned from you about the feel of more quality vinyl! Love your relaxed teaching style. Your result and graphic is outstanding... and very inspiring. I am curious as to your peeling and weeding method. Wondering why you didn’t weed right on your mat? It’s like having an extra hand as you are not using the other one to keep your vinyl from rolling up... Wondering if the fine detail in the planets and such is just too much to expect to be able to peel the mat up and away from after you flip your weeded image-on-mat over. Not criticizing at all... really wondering 🙂
I like your idea of weeding on the mat. I will give your recommendation a try and show it off in a future video. Thanks for watching and thanks for the tip :)

Thanks for the feedback.. Of course I will recommend the vinyl from my own inventory Kustomizeme HTV Vinyl the best. But to help you shop around. As a start, look for any vinyl that is soft stretch vinyl.
In this video, I am using a Generic Clamp Press. But have since upgraded to a swing press. I recommend a swing press, especially for women, because it is easier to close. Clamp presses require more effort to close sometimes, so a swing press is good to use if you do not want to use effort to close it.
Thanks for the tutorial! I have just started working with vinyl and have next to zero experience. Would it be possible to use a regular iron to press on the vinyl design?
Yes it is possible to use a iron. The best iron to use are the ones that show the temperature degrees on it. This way you will not have to guess how hot the iron is. Make sure you do not add water. Steam is a enemy of HTV. The most important thing is buy the right vinyl. Mostly all vinyl will press with a iron, but may not always work or have the best results. I’ve tested my vinyl with a iron and know that it will work. Hope this info helps.
Just learning the business. Was looking into a cricut 3 but, I didn't know you could print and cut such a large image eith a cameo!!!! Something too think about. 🤔 Is that a regular cameo or a plus
You can cut larger images with a regular cameo as you can purchase 12"x24" mats and you can cut vinyl without a mat. The only difference between the two machines is.. Standard Cameo can only except materials up to 12" horizontally. The Cameo Plus can only except materials up to 15" horizontally. If you are new to starting, I recommend the Cameo 4 and upgrade to the plus later. :)
Thank you so much for sharing 💙 I want to make tshirts for a cancer walk and wanted a soft vinyl for the reasons you talk about here. I was looking on your website to order but I don't know what one to buy that is soft like yours. Looking for black. Can you tell me a name on your site? Thank you 💙
Hey im totally new to this and have a possibly stupid question lol.. maybe it because I use a different cutter or something but I noticed you weed from the back of your vinyl. Im using a vinyl systems specialist to cut my designs and I put the shiny side down when loading it and when it's done cutting there is no way for me to weed from the back like youd do. Am I doing something wrong? or is it just because my cutter is different and I dont need to weed from the back? or am I dumber than I thought? haha any info would be great thanks! great video!.
Thanks for the comment! My recommendation would be to go with a heat press. The reason why, a heat press will apply pressure when pressing to create a more secure bond for your vinyl. Giving you a more screen printed look. The easy press is good but you can not apply pressure and only can depend on the weight of the easy press. If you do go with a press. Get a 15x15 or larger swing press with digital timer.
I use to be the same. My alignment too has been a life savior. I do not make a shirt without it. Another thing that I stopped doing, was trying to align my design under the heat press. I show how I do my new method in this video. th-cam.com/video/JtVSGzaP_2o/w-d-xo.html
Hello. I love how your design came out. How did you get those circles that you weeded out around the planets? I didn't see them traced in the design before cutting?
Hey, im not sure if this is what he did, but lately ive been buying cheaper vinyl, and its been causing my images to come out choppy. I started digging around the design, so when I peel the background it all just comes off at once or a couple big pieces. I hope he answers so we dont have to guess lol
I manually placed the circles before cutting out my design. I do this to cut my design up into smaller pieces to make the weeding process go faster and smoother. This technique at specially comes in handing when you have smaller shapes with in your design.
No I do not wash my shirts. The vinyl I use is soft stretch so there is no need to wash the shirts. Plus I found washing the shirts first affects the quality after applying heat from heat press so I do not wash.
When I started doing that second press after removing the carrier sheet, I noticed my vinyl seemed to sink into the shirt and not have those edges. He is absolutely correct though. Choice of vinyl makes all the difference!
This is why I quit doing the vinyl on shirts,, looks so fake and stiff.. I want to try your vinyl! I’ve been using screen print with the cricut.. is the cricut brand not this thin?
Hi. My vinyl is around 100 to 120 microns compared to Cricut brands in retail stores that are around 200 to 240 microns. Their vinyl is pretty thick. Thicker vinyl looks stiff and sits on top of the fabric which look off to a person who has a good eye and requires higher quality 😉
It really depends on the vinyl that you are using. Some vinyl require different heat settings. The vinyl that I am using requires a setting of 320 degrees. Which is usually the sweet spot. My best recommendation would be to follow the instructions that come with your vinyl or try a few sample test until you find the right temp.

Just a friendly tip..weed the vinyl while it's still on the cutting mat and it helps it from curling while weeding. Great job!!👍
Good idea!!
Just figured this out accidentally 😅 it is so much easier to weed on the cutting mat.
