This camcorder remind me of the good old days of using a Mamiya 67 medium format camera and this is the best way to hold a camera for an old fashioned professional. This looks really nice!
Every now and then sony breaks new ground. First VX1000 (still have mine shot an Endorphin clip on it)... PD 1xx... EX3!!!!! Now FS700.... It's as if they said to Canon "Oh yeah? Cop this!!!!" Nice one Derek... really good to see slo-mo and expanded focus on the fly... 24Mbs, nyaaah, but SDI out= awesome.

Question about the FS700. Can it shoot high speed, out-of-the-box, or do you need add ons? I know it has an SD Card slot, a Sony men Stick slot, and then the super expensive HD Slot on the side. It also has some box you can attach to the back to save streaming JPGs. What do you need to shoot the high speed? Is an SD Card (10) good enough, or is the HD card needed?
Question about the FS700... I read it can only shoot HighSpeed 200+fps for short durations. Like 8 seconds or 19 seconds. Is this true? Can you make adjustments to get longer shoots? ie: Lower quality 640x480, or larger memory card, or something?
Great review, since the fs100 u got me, im subscribing. BTW u should do something like a low iso limit of usable footage, i mean using something like the 1.8 50mm e mount, on top iso and 24fps and 24-25 shuttersped just to show the power of that beast. (if the fs100 isnt your favourite baby, give it to me :P) Cheers!

Your very best video, using prior footage in the background to backup your commentary was great. I want to remember to try it in my own videos.
this has been the best review i have ever seen on TH-cam of the Sony FS700 and it even had a great comparison to its little brother the FS100.
