- In today’s video I’ll be painting a Krootox Rampager to a display quality level, but believe it or not, I’ll be using true metallic metals for this one.
Intro
A couple of videos ago I painted a Ghoostkeel Battle suit for my Tau army, but I have to admit that while I was doing it I was really just itching to paint some of the new Kroot releases from the Hunting Pack box. And the Tau was the next best thing I could paint while I was waiting for that to arrive :D
Fortunately I didn’t have to wait too long and my box arrived even before I finished the Ghostkeel and I could start painting the, in my opinion, best models in the box, the Krootox Rampagers.
I tried to paint this dynamic duo properly alien and vicious looking as Kroot should be and hopefully you guys will like them, just be warned that this paint job will be a bit “complex”.
So if you want to see how I painted the alien purple skin of the Krootox including some freehand spots to make him really stand out, all the various leather harnesses, the true metallic elements, including a freehand Kroot design on the shoulder armor, and of course the greenish yellow of the rider with the red quills, than let’s get started.

Hey guys! Since my early Warhammer days playing Dawn of War, I loved the Tau. And finally, with the new model releases, I got to paint them 😊 What do you think about my first painted Kroot? ( Well, technically, it is two 😅).
What red did you used for Quils? Looks so vibrant and I'm not able to figure out who is the producer...
@sai87999 I used Cartacci Red and The Red from Kimera Colors. They are the most pigmented and vibrant paints I know, I can absolutely recommend them.
@@ph3lansminiatures it just looks amazing, will have to try it out! Thank you!
Wow honestly so well done. In love with ur kroot
This is.... Stunning. Well done. Fantastic video and piece, probably my favourite Krootox yet!
Thank you 😊
Looks beautiful
Amazing
Great video once again, no bullshit, just straight nice painting.
The krootox is really well painted but the kroot with it's green skin is awesome!
Thanks, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Looks cool.
Thanks 😊
Thank you for the great video! Which green did you use for the Kroot (base color)?
Sure, it was Russian Green from AK interactive.
Do you do commissions?
Unfortunately, I don't have too much time on my hands with my dayjob and all the painting and video production for the channel going on. So I don't really do commission work atm But out of curiosity, what kind of commission did you have in mind ( if you don't mind sharing here)
I wanted a kroot army painted up. At the same level of what you did in the video. I have most of them now. All I have left to get is the big hunter box.
Unfortunately I have nowhere enough time to paint up an entire army to this standard :) It would take hundreds of hours and I don't think it is a realistic amount of money if I charge you for that.
Well the opposite of Zenith is nadir, so nadiral lowlight?
But I don't think anyone will know what you're talking about. 😂
