Hey guys! Since my early Warhammer days playing Dawn of War, I loved the Tau. And finally, with the new model releases, I got to paint them 😊 What do you think about my first painted Kroot? ( Well, technically, it is two 😅).
I can share the 'notes' I had for the paints back then, hopefully that will help. They are a bit disjointed. I guess back than I understood what I meant 😝 Red Leather Russian Green Kiwi brown Caucasian Skin Orange Leather - mouth part Guilliman Flesh wash for the chest Aggaros dunes for mouth Doombull Brown Rhinox Hide Dark Sea Blue Red Leather + Brown Rose Adding more and more Brown Rose Black Burnt Red for quills Gunmetal Grey for metals Viking Gold Dry Ground texture Black Lotus Xpress color Skin Red Leather + Brown Rose Brown Rose Spots Dark Sea Blue Adding more and more sun ray More Skin Salmon Face Burnt Umber Burnt Umber + Kiwi Brown Kiwi Brown + Sun Ray Fluorescent Green Chest Kiwi Brown Dark brown Green Brown Tuskgor Fur Kroot Olive Green + Russian Green Olive Green Interrior Yellow + Olive Interrior Yellow
That's weird, have you tried an extra matt varnish? 1-2 layers should make it totally matt. I guess the fact that I mostly use matt paints (Ask interactive and Kimera are both very matt) to begin with helps.
@@ph3lansminiatures I will try with the extra matt! Whenever I go to any hobby store its already out of stock but I will persevear. I mostly own Citadel and they are pretty sattin
My favorite these days is the Max Matt from Green Stuff World. That thing can make anything matt it touches :D In case you can find it, I can really recommend it.
Unfortunately, I don't have too much time on my hands with my dayjob and all the painting and video production for the channel going on. So I don't really do commission work atm But out of curiosity, what kind of commission did you have in mind ( if you don't mind sharing here)
I wanted a kroot army painted up. At the same level of what you did in the video. I have most of them now. All I have left to get is the big hunter box.
Unfortunately I have nowhere enough time to paint up an entire army to this standard :) It would take hundreds of hours and I don't think it is a realistic amount of money if I charge you for that.

What red did you used for Quils? Looks so vibrant and I'm not able to figure out who is the producer...
@sai87999 I used Cartacci Red and The Red from Kimera Colors. They are the most pigmented and vibrant paints I know, I can absolutely recommend them.
@@ph3lansminiatures it just looks amazing, will have to try it out! Thank you!
Looks awesome! Great choose of color for the krootox!
Wow honestly so well done. In love with ur kroot

This is.... Stunning. Well done. Fantastic video and piece, probably my favourite Krootox yet!
Thank you 😊
Great video once again, no bullshit, just straight nice painting.
The krootox is really well painted but the kroot with it's green skin is awesome!
Thanks, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Amazing
Can we get a full list of paints you used? This is incredible.

Thank you for the great video! Which green did you use for the Kroot (base color)?
Sure, it was Russian Green from AK interactive.
Perfect!
How do you do to make it look so matt? Even with matt varnish I dont get it THAT matt.

Well the opposite of Zenith is nadir, so nadiral lowlight?
But I don't think anyone will know what you're talking about. 😂
