lol when Alice asked for Advil - Rio Vidal - Rio’s last name is literally an anagram of Advil.
Good catch!
Very cool! Nice reference and nice catch.
lol, i'd wondered were Alice's advil was. that's clever.
OMG
Great catch
I'm honestly so glad The Witches Road is a practical set. It really feels like the Coven is in an actual location where they can interact and react to the environment they find themselves in. After so many projects with the volume and green screen, making the entire world feel so fake, this is a very much welcome change of pace. It's funny how this show is the cheapest show Marvel has made, and yet it looks so much better than some of the other projects like Secret Invasion or Quantumania. Anyway, another cool episode this week with especially great costume design. Looking forward to next week!
Oh way much better
Where have they announced the budget for this series?
Riiiiiiight. And those orange maple leaves all along the road didn't look like they were just bought from Michael's hobby store? Gawd. Not to mention we get to see yet another house up ahead of the road from a distance but then the next shot you're right in front of the door. I guess showing a full sized version of the house to scale would've cost more.....no that wasn't a cheap way to go at all,huh uh. There is too much joking around and snarky quipping and not enough actual quality writing with substance. They need to cut half the joking and stupid over acting and stick to telling the story of Agatha walking that road to get her magic back, and maybe if they pull their heads out, they will write teen as Billy so they will have a way to set up another young avengers member and open the door to Wanda's return a little more. But this garbage they been giving us pure malarkey.
@@protalghulnist4126 It was reported in the Hollywood trades. I can't remember if it was Deadline, Hollywood Reporter, or Variety that broke the story first.
@@protalghulnist4126 @protalghulnist4126 30 - 39 Million for the entire series per Forbes. Look up agatha-all-along-is-a-hit-thanks-to-its-lowest-ever-mcu-budget on Forbes ( my link was blocked).
Practical sets, in-camera effects, very light CGI so far. A very different approach. Almost like an old school play or musical.
There's a shot when Alice and Lilia are looking at Lorna's picture on the wall and their three faces mirror the maiden, mother, crone pattern.
Good catch!!!
Nice detail catching!!
I knew it was something important, good catch
WAIT YEA UR A GENIUS
I'm not versed in witch lore but had a feeling that was supposed to mean something. Thanks!
In episode 2 before they conjured the road, when asked who's going high... Lilia blurts out "Get off me" in episode 4 when the curse is burning her, she yells "Get off me"...
Ah, good spot!
ohhh that makes sense cus shes a divination witch and can see the future in a way. Does that mean in episode 3 when she said ‘try to save agatha’ will something like that will happen un the next episode? she also said something like this in episode 4 ‘alice, dont’. I cant wait to see!!!
@@vidhi3697 100%. everything happens for a reason in films
They said at the end we will see things from the other view point so we will see
Aha, tak v překladu v cz dabingu není " slez ze mě" ale Lilia vyhrkne " já to dám" v dabingu a v titulkách je " nechte mě" , škoda, že překladatelé nectí příběh
After the record plays Alice says she feels lighter. That is because the curse has been spread out and no longer is resting on her shoulders, contained yet ever present. The literal weight of generations rest upon her at all times and for the first time since her mother’s death she is free of it. This is also why Lorna Wu is truly dead because the curse passes upon the death of the matriarch of the line.
Oh wow good point
Damn thats solid insight.
Look at you all smart and shit 👍🏿
I noticed that Rio was ready to go at that drum set way before the rest of them figured out the solution.
I was wondering if Aubrey plays drums. Because they will sometimes do that in a show or movie.
Like how they will find a way for a Summer Glau character to dance. Even in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, there is an episode where her Terminator character goes undercover at a ballet academy.
@@scotthewitt258
I think we would have seen her do something more dynamic on the drums, though, if that were the case.
I thought it was pretty interesting that the doctor who took Jen's power was an Obstetrician. J. Marion Sims was considered the father of modern Obstetrics and Gynecology, but how he got there was horrific. He experimented on black women slaves, sometimes without anesthesia. He quite literally took power away from so many black women. One has to wonder if Jen's "binding" is a trauma response, referencing the harm done to those women.
Wow, that's interesting, and horrible! Thanks!
And now that I read your comment, I realize that it may go even further than that. If her power was taken away, and that black women slaves were also taken their power "to create life", as per say... Then maybe part of Jen's trauma may be that she has been sterilized.
She is an obstetrician and so, as being a witch, depriving her of her ability to give birth would be a way to punish her.
So what you're saying is. Could it be a mental/emotional block that she needs to break?
I agree 100%
Her magic worked or her spell/potion worked when she healed the boy, she also saved them when they were poisoned with the wine. Does she have additional powers because it seems her magic is working on the Witches Road, they keep looking to her to save everyone.
I like the touch that Alice said she felt "lighter" right after the record played in reverse because that was the first time in her life that the curse was lifted off of her and transferred to another person.
Also, isn't lighter the thing that starts fires? hahah
@@guipettop ahaaaaa
Said it last week and I'll say it again - I'm waiting for the reveal that Agatha never walked the road before!
ugh i’d love this
I think this episode hinted she did.
With Rio.
Agatha got the Darkhold while Rio became... a powerful entity.
I think Agatha and Rio might have walked the road together. Agatha got the Darkhold and Rio got the power to steal other powers, like Agatha. But she has to get them from the dead witches who walked the road and died. Maybe that’s what happened to Agatha’s son. He walked the road and Rio took him and his power. Maybe Rio is working for Maphesto and he wanted her son’s power.
@@BrokenSoulConfession maybe that's why she said that thing about two in the lyrics and maybe that's rio's association with death. maybe agatha is the only one who survived and rio is somehow powerful after the road but not truly alive and she needs corpses to keep on going.
@@BrokenSoulConfession makes you wonder what the job she had to do was and who put her on it, even though it clearly destroyed their relationship.
I no longer care about the Easter eggs and trying to spot every detail. This episode turned a corner for me; for the first time I'm seeing this series as so much more than I already thought it was. Not ashamed to say I cried. Absolutely brilliant episode.
The effort Lorna went into to protect her daughter from the curse had me in literal tears all the way through from the moment Agatha pointed it out to the moment the demon was consumed in flames. The lyrics were so emotive. That was such an excellent episode in, what is so far, my all time favourite MCU show.

Rio and Agatha were like when they were together
I AGREE BRO. I ship them so hard 🤞🤞🤞 I hope we get a 💋 or smt ❤
I really want a season 2 or flashback that explores that era. Sounds like Nich died of natural causes but Agatha blames Rio for "coming too early" 👀 gimme more lore
I'm sure we will. Just like in wandavision we get a how did this happen episode and it flashes back to Wanda's memories and how she actually created the hex. In this show im sure we will find out rios and agathas relationship, how she played a part in taking agathas son since she is death, and what billy teen actually knows. In the trailer we see agatha and teen both in tan jumpsuits and agatha has her hands on his head like she is trying to read his mind or steal his powers. I'm very excited for what's to come!!
😮
@@nailinthefashion If this will end up similar to WandaVision then probably yes, we will get some flashback in the 8th episode, just like how Wanda created the hex.
I think when Lillia said “I love you guys.” In the last episode(s), she meant to say it in this episode, but when she paused at the fire when talking to Jen and Alice about hating them at first but then paused, they laughed it off, it was probably what she meant to say at that point in time, but it was in her psychic ability that made her say it early on. So if we were to add moments of her psychic surges, I think it’ll fit into every missing piece in her dialogue throughout the show as it comes to an end.
Wow, interesting!
Yep her random sayings that she forgets about seem to be from the future (or maybe the past too)
Interesting how each of the elements also corresponds to a way witches were punished throughout history. Water- drowning, fire - burning, earth - crushing, air - hanging.
Wow, good point!
They show the pictures on the wall and they old witch is looking at it. Interesting but theyve been discussing witch persecution since the firet episode.
Also, the "Father of Gynecology" Marion Sims used enslaved women, without any sort of anesthesia, as lab rats. That might have something to do with Jen's trauma.
Fun fact - 9:35 Lilia’s outfit being inspired by Liza Minnelli connects back to Wizard of Oz once more as Liza is Judy Garland’s daughter.
When Rio skips down the road, it actually sounds like she was whistling "Ease on Down the Road" from The Wiz, which would still be a Wizard of Oz reference
She also hops just like the Scarecrow did in the movie.
Thank you marvel for giving Jennifer a good hair budget! So far both wigs have been A1! THANK YOU!!!🫶🏾🥹
This is an important achievement! You're absolutely right. It happens so rarely that it's remarkable, even on a show that's as high-profile as this.
Meow
she looked awesome in this episode.
I’m telling you they have been A1 I was quite surprised and yet so proud 😂
Yesss!! This episode she was definitely channeling Donna Summer with the hair and wardrobe
Also, the special FX used to cure Teen's wound looked like the same one used in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when Indiana healed his dad w/ the Holy Grail.
Cool!
Paint the wound on with baking soda and wash it off with vinegar. Magic.
@@blairhoughton7918 so simple yet effective!
Wow. You're right. I didn't notice, but my brain did.
@Venslor that was one of my favorite movies growing up lol
When Rio and Agatha where in the sound booth talking, she says that magic brought her down or maybe "UP" to the road, maybe because she literally rose up from Sharon's grave, or maybe because she's literally Death and came from hell.
I interpreted it as a combo of both. IF she is death (cough cough wink wink nudge nudge she totally is) I imagined it as she was literally waiting for Sharon to be buried to collect her soul and was getting ready to leave/still VERY near by after collecting. And like she said “magic takes the path of least resistance” so it makes sense her way out if she’s taking a soul is through the loose dirt from the grave.
Yeah she was there to collect her body. When teen almost dies agatha looks at Rio and says Don't, bc she doesn't want her to take teen by death. Then we see Rio say that boy isn't yours.
So much to come! I think teen aka Billy knows way more than he is letting on too. He's either trying to get wanda at the end of the road or his brother. We'll have to wait and see how they play this out. If he doesn't get reunited with wanda or Tommy right away, and if agatha turns good, maybe she takes teen under her wing mentorship bc she has no son and he has no parents. Alright I gotta stop or I will be theorizing all day 😂
@@Bnl26797 I just figured she meant that up and down don't mean anything in the context. But maybe.
I don't over-complicate things, if the witches' road is really out of time and space then the direction doesn't matter. When they summoned the road it appeared down, and they went down, but it can be anywhere like "up".
I always thought she was Sharon.
EVERYONE! The FIRST FOUR episodes were released early for reviewers and critics alike.
Ohhhh ok now it makes sense haha

He’s not yours could mean he belongs to someone else - Death or Mephisto or something. If Agatha let her kid go in exchange for the Darkhold, he would, in a sense, not be hers anymore

Foreaaal! 😤
Exactly
When Lilia pauses she was mentally back in episode 3 and saying the line, "I love you guys". So now I will be keeping an eye out for every time she pauses.
In the magical cosmic hierarchy of things, the abstract entity known as Death ranks far higher than Mephisto, a soul stealing demon. Everyone's not an "agent of Mephisto."
Rio could be a persona of the death entity
@@owenSHOK Right, but Death wouldn't, or at least shouldn't be working for Mephisto like Ryan implied. Mephisto is low level compared to Lady Death who is an abstract cosmic entity.
So we have Ryan Reynold's Deadpool in the MCU, and we theorize that Aubrey Plaza is actually Death...Can you imagine a world where we get those two together for some adaptation of their relationship in the comics? Especially those two chaotic/hilarious performers, i bet their chemistry would be off the charts!
Their individual love stories are so good I don't want a love story. But a shared fascination with one another and obsession would be so amazing.
I think I also found interesting was that the Curse never attacked Rio. It tossed Teen from the room, had Jennifer and Lilia writhing on the floor, had Agatha in the classic rock position and attacked Alice. But it never did anything to Rio. She just sat there at the drumset.
It's be a use the demon recognizes rio as who she really is ..... Death.
Lilia mentioned “Three of Swords” which represents unhappiness, heartache, sorrow, and sadness. I wonder why she mentioned that when Jen was trying to heal Teen.
THIS i was like wait 😭 that card fit so well
That card also represents growth
and also it was one of the cards that they used to promote the show, i believe its related to Aghata
Each set of cards also have their own general meaning. Swords often represent conflict, both external and internal ; they also show that the limit between good and bad is sparce. In a booklet I have, it even says "Be careful about your thoughts and ambitions".
I think it's pretty clear that Lilia saw beyond Agatha's appearances. At that moment, she understood what act she was putting, and that she was prey to a strong internal conflict and stricken with regrets. She cannot afford to lose her son (as she believes Teen is) a second time.
@@tenielbailey9811 Růst přes bolest, ano
One thing that really stood out to me in this episode is how Agatha "becomes Agatha" from time to time, like she puts on the persona of "Agatha" around others. A couple of obvious times is after Teen asks about her son and she gets up and "becomes Agatha" before interacting with the other witches, and after Rio says that Teen isn't her son. It's really impressive that Kathryn made that a choice that there is Agatha the person and there is Agatha the Witch.
I couldn’t be more pleasantly surprised with this show!
Same
Yeah I look forward to Wednesdays

Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac was famously rumored to be a witch…
That's also why she made a guest appearance on American Horror Story: Coven playing a version of herself who's also known as "The White Witch"
The trouble with "witchcraft" though is that it is only been around for 100 years old.
A dude called Alistair Crowly reinvented it in the 1920`s. But it is a man made hotpotch of different cultures magic throughout history.
Now this got revised in the 1950/60`s and again around the 80`s when CAPITALISM got its hold on things giving us what we call witchcraft today.
It is not withcfraft in any shape or form but it is sold as such because people buy it.
Iconic of her to take ownership of her witchiness methinks
Family isn't blood. It's the bond that they share. In this case the soul. Son or no son. Some part of Agatha wants to make sure he reaches the end. Until we know the truth, keep your witch hats on everyone. Looking forward to seeing more content. Thanks to anyone who reads this.
Burgeoning theory - the exit from the previous task points to the next one. In the water task, they escaped through an oven (fire); in the fire task they escaped through a piano. My guess is the next task will be air, because it’s the medium through which sound travels.
Thoughts?!
interesting theory. Well, we all know Lilia's trial is next so you might be right
Nice
The “do no harm” is actually a reference to the Hippocratic oath: "First do no harm" (Latin: Primum non nocere)
Funny to give the Latin derivative for a Greek man.
It's actually much older.
the The Wiccan Rede has something close... "An ye harm none, do what ye will"
I was literally about to be surprised to see some steamy action towards the end
Not to mention that the music battle vs. a demon is a trope throughout popular music and music legend; Devil went down to Georgia, Tenacious D, Robert Johnson selling his soul, etc.
Crossroads!
Maybe it was just me but the last mask that shows up in this video at 10:50 seemed like it had someone looking from behind, like eyes for a brief moment and then they disappeared.
For sure
Maybe it was the demon?
I was coming here to say the same thing. There are eyes. Mephistopheles eyes.
@@nora-.-g Yeah it was the curse demon. That is what all the masks represented.
You could definitely see the light reflect on black eyes. Maybe the curse looking in?
Rio is clearly Lady Death. I think the series will end with Agatha saving billy and saying “go. Find your mother. The Scarlet Witch”.
If at all, she is "Mistress Death". "Lady Death" is an entirely different franchise :)
If Rio is Death, I feel like she's here for Agatha now that she's vulnerable without her magic. Also everytime something slightly fatal happens and Agatha looks at Rio it feels like she's begging her for more time. She's like “Not now. Not today.” Also when Teen was lying half dead Agatha says to Rio “Don't.” with a pointed look.
Rio was also meant to walk The Witches Road with this coven. When Lilia wrote the names of the witches the last one was a “black heart”. In the first episode Agatha says “You don't have a heart.” to which Rio replies “I do. It's black. And it beats for you.” or smt like that.
P.S. At the end Rio quite literally stops Agatha from getting a “Kiss of Death”
it's only literally a kiss of death if rio is in fact death. but we don't know that yet.
What does the kiss of death do
@@kreiyu ya i know and that's why I started with an “If..”
@@hallucinatestar9127 It's an expression used to describe something that's fatal and leads to one's death/end.
Rio may be there to ultimately claim Agatha, but Agatha suggested in Ep.1 that she would want to take her, not when she was powerless, but "at my best" after she reclaimed "her purple". (Of course, Agatha will then try to cheat her.)
Interesting that Alice’s mother’s band is modeled after Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks once appeared as herself on American Horror Story. She was also a “White Witch”
The reference is not to AHS. It’s to a decades-old joke that Stevie Nicks is a witch. Which is the reason for her cameo in AHS Coven in the first place.
“This is the same framing from the first episode” he says as they show two shots framed differently
That ending got me
Can we just mention that Audrey Plaza played Lenny in Marvel’s Legion? I feel like Legion gets so little love and it is amazing!
"We dont think that's SHE'S Nicolas, but this doesn't 100% guarantee that he's not" xD
I'm loving this show so far. It has the perfect amount of mystery and kooky witch behavior.
I noticed that Lillia’s premonition at the fire afterwards goes full circle last episode when she said “I love you guys”. They are starting to connect back now. Also, Teen was acting completely suspect in ep.4. I think he was being phony when he got knocked through the glass. I think he did it to himself to appear vulnerable.
He for sure knows more and is fooling them, especially fooling agatha. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Cope.
“I’ll see you at the end” … yeah she’s getting her mom back ;)
No. She’s dying. They’re reunited after death.
@@arc7375 Uuuuh I like that too
It’s like a backwards Wizard of Oz. The first episode was Agatha coming out of a fantasy world into the real one. Second episode was them all starting together to enter the road instead of meeting throughout. Third episode was the Brain (knowledge). Fourth episode is courage (facing trauma) and fifth episode will be heart (love or forgiving) and the sixth episode will be meeting the Wizard (The Mastermind behind it all and the Sigil)
An extra layer to the Fleetwood Mac poster is Stevie Nicks. She sometimes had a witchy "aesthetic" to her appearance and songwriting. She specified that her song "Rhiannon" is about a Welsh witch. I believe she also plays herself but as a witch in American Horror Story.
The joke is that for decades, it was a long running joke that SN was a witch.
Could the line "that boy isn't yours" be a reminder that she traded her son. Not necessarily that she didn't give birth to him but that she no longer owns him
I see it as more, as Death, Rio is confirming that Nick is dead. Teen/Billy isn’t Nick. And Agatha seems to know this anyways, but had hope.
So after this episode it’s 100% that Rio was the one to sacrifice Agatha’s son for the darkhold
Or she was the one that traded the Darkhold to Agatha, as an agent of Mephisto.
@@blairhoughton7918 based on what she said about how she did something to someone she loved it seems she went behind Agatha’s back to trade her son for the dark gold

I love the Stevie Nicks pose Agatha goes into with the wing sleeves. Quintessential 70s. Plus Stevie gained the rep of being a witch and wrote/performed the ultimate song about a witch, Rhiannon.

It is heartbreaking to see random youtubers trashing shows for no reason, faking to be a disappointed marvel fan, they trash talk about any show they find and release videos right before the episode airs, when people are impatiently waiting for new content.
Yes, and they usually dislike any show that has more of a woman's point of view, I find. They seem to feel threatened.
@@Terra_LopezI literally unfollowed so many accounts after how poorly the acolyte was reviewed for the same reason 🙃
@@zanecatterall6783 I can understand the hate of the Acolyte, it has nothing to do with the main story line, not even a spin off, and I didn't enjoy it. But Agatha is right in the middle of the upcoming events, can be a major plot for the next villain(s) OR heroes, and I like that they have witches in the MCU.
I'm kinda waiting for a channel to post their new video about this episode. I mean they will criticize it for sure, but other that "it's not made for me" not really any point why it is so bad. 🤣
The tortured witches paintings actually depict the coven members symbolically by either by their past events, element, or backstory. They also seem to look like their race on each painting.
Mrs. Hart/Sharon Davies;Alice - Water/Fire; Drowned/Boiled under flame
Jen - Bound
Agatha - Tied and to be extinguished by her coven (She’s the one about to be “burned” at a stake by her coven)
Lilia - call back to last episode with a woman/someone sat on a chair. Possibly her also witnessing/seeing a fellow witch die or foreshadowing her being tied on a chair in a forest. Hopefully not drowning
There’s also one (looks like a male?) in a cage. Possibly for “Teen”.
Agatha and Rio got me at the end iykwim 😉
I’m sure they will probably have their moment
Gross.
This wasn’t even the first time I’ve seen Aubrey Plaza crawl out of someone else’s grave in a Marvel adaptation.
It's just her natural way to get into sets and be a part of shows.
She’s not even acting. It’s just how she shows up to things.
That was one of the most brutal things in legion that episode, so upsetting…
@@arc7375well... Probably Yes. They just get her into a voodoo ritual and then she just eat some crew members.
Maybe Teen (Billy) n Tommy existing now ..outside of the Hex, will explain that last flash of Chaos Magic at the end of MOM. Maybe Wanda figured something out before dying idk🤷🏽♂️
Oh.... she's not dead...
I don't think Agatha has ever been on the road.
This may be a stretch of a reference but when Jen was looking at the masks on the wall, it reminded me of Norman Osborn's mask collection in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2002 and The Spectacular Spider-Man 2008-09 series.
"Maybe a stretch" 🫤
"Do No Harm" is also a magician's oath in the code of ethics and principles, in Wiccan circles, Tarot, and Kabbalah.
Ok, $5 says the true power at the end of the road is just 'You're a real coven now'. 'The real power was the friends we made along the way.'
I’m wondering if giving Jennifer Kale the bass is a south park reference. ‘Token, you’re black, of course you can play the bass. ‘- Cartman
I think we were on the same page when it came to Rio and Agatha having a previous relationship she was probably the one who took the Sun because Agatha was too scared to do it herself. When she went to hear the sound of the baby crying and ended up seeing the darkhold that was a reference to when it happened to her in her past.
A good bit yall missed was near the end when they're all around the campfire, Lilia talks about how "We really kind of hated each other in the beginning, but now..." and she trails off, they joke and ask her where she goes. But this seems like its the first part of her earlier divination in the last episode when she tells them all she loves them. I think her inability to find the words here could indicate she might not be able to communicate the divinations when they actually happen? Which would prevent her from stopping certain events she's already foreshadowed.
The pov from the curse type camera shot was also used in the 1998 horror movie "Fallen" with Denzel Washington & John Goodman. When the demon jumps from person to person or flying between hosts, its the same kind of shot & framing.
So, if we consider that Mephisto placed a seal on Billy, predicting that he and Agatha would follow the witches’ path, this would explain how he has always been behind the scenes, moving the pieces. He would have orchestrated events to ensure that, when the right moment came, he would be waiting at the end of the journey with Wanda asleep
I just Finished and they already have a video😂😂😂
If Rio isn't death, she might an avatar of death who sometimes let's herself become possessed by that entity to perform certain important tasks.
Missed homages: the sharing scars scene from Jaws and the scene from Last Crusade when they save Connery with the grail.
I think the "it's your fault" exchange was a reference to Into the Woods, and then the summoning felt similar to Witches of Eastwick when they summon Jack Nicholson.
Cinnamon and Sage could also been a reference to Incense and Peppermint by Strawberry Alarm Clock.
I think I matched one of Lilia's divination moments! When they are at the campfire, she says, "You know, we really kind of hated each other in the beginning. But now..." I think that was the moment from the first trial in episode 2. She blurts out, "I love you guys!"
First off, Alice isn't a fire witch, she's a protection witch. That's why she did the protection spells around the other witches. Also her mother didnt just die in a hotel fire. The curse is meant to burn them to death, so she probably caused the fire herself when the curse took her and she burned.
I thought the green witch was for protection?
Was not expecting a dunking of the editing on "Bohemian Rhapsody" but am totally here for it
There is 206 bones in the human body, 207 if I'm watching Kathryn and Aubrey make out
😂😂
Screencrush adds so much to each episode. I wasn’t that into this episode, but I appreciate it more because of SC’s analysis. Honestly, sometimes I look forward to SC more than the episodes themselves
I agree. The dialogue this episode wasn't great. I feel like one really has to read between the lines with some of these Marvel shows. First Rio wants to kill her, then Rio is acting silly (doesn't need to kill her), then Rio is acting like her lover. WHAT is Rio's motivation? Makes no sense as I'm watching it. But if you tell me Rio is death, okay, it makes sense now. BUT I DIDNT GET THAT FROM THE SHOW
Said Fleetwood Mac but didn't say people thought Stevie Nicks was into witchcraft
The joke that Stevie Nicks is a witch is a real-life joke that’s been running for several decades.
Did anyone else wish that Kathryn Hahn had been dressed like her character on Anchorman?
I'm wondering if Rio is Gaea, Mother Nature. Gaea is an elder goddess in Marvel and has similar powers to what Rio has shown. Also, the green witch is Mother Nature.
1:32 huge props to the editor for the Edelgard drop.
Loved that
Oh my god what an insane episode!! First of all the VFX team really knocked it out of the park with that demon cause he looked scary as f^ck and the scene right as the ballad was finishing off was so awesome. Not to mention the character development this episode, just WOW, we've had so many Marvel shows with familiar well known characters where I really just didn't end up caring about the characters or their arc even though I was familiar with them because of the poor quality of the writing and production(ex: Secret Invasion) this show has made me invested and care deeply about characters we weren't even introduced to before this show are were barely familiar with, like Agatha. The character development of Alice, Jennifer, Rio, and especially Agatha this episode was so well done and it's very obvious to me how much love the team working on this show put into it. Finally I feel like this is what Marvel Television should be, Jac Schaeffer is some of the best talents marvel has got and she's doing so much to immerse me in the world she's created, make me attached to these characters, while creating something truly unique and fresh to anything we've seen in a Marvel show.
Demon is a female, I think.
@@BrokenSoulConfession What makes you say that? Also do demons even have gender?
Could agatha's "can't they" also be a nod to Wanda's line "Can't I" when talking to vision about controlling him like everyone else in Westview?😅
Something else that was another disney witch reference happened when they summoned Rio. In sleeping beauty, two of the three witches each gave princess Aurora blessings based on looks, personality, and traits, before Maleficent cursed Aurora to die on her sixteenth birthday. The final good witch augmented the curse to cause a deep sleep instead of death and that the curse could only be broken by true loves kiss.
I loved how every time the camera came around, Lilia was playing a new instrument! She started with the zills, but then she played the triangle, maracas, and tambourine
Ok, I'm not buying Billy's act. He knew he wasn't going to get burned and it's super suspicious if the road gives you a pass twice. He threw himself through that glass to gain the group's trust.
He definitely know more than he's letting on
@@caitlindn Exactly! But it's more than that. He somehow had the mojo to 'loosen up' Wanda's curse on Agatha, yet now he's playing the chipper young novice? No f-ing way. I think this Young Avenger is playing the long game.
I think instead of the namahage masks, the masks on the wall are Nuo masks from Chinese Nuo Opera. The Nuo dance was traditionally performed to ward off demons, which fits more thematically with Alice's trial than the namahage masks. (Also that ATLA clip of Zuko's Blue Spirit is also based off of nuo masks)
Sharon is actually Charon the Greek soul ferryman of the underworld, aiding Death, Rio Vidal to emerge in the Witches' Road!
The Greek name, Charon, is not pronounced as “Sharon.”
@@arc7375 exactly, it’s pronounced “HA-ron” or “HA-ros” if you want to be completely accurate but cute theory
When the witches asked if Rio was crazy Agatha said “She’s a tourist”
