OMGosh, Catherine! I was on pins and needles and you and Joey crawled through that narrow rock ledge. Joey, you're so chivalrous to be there for Cat. What a guy! Thank you for taking us along this trip which many of us would never see.

It is not a hike for the faint hearted. Having Joey along takes all the fear away. He would never let anything happen to you. He is like what I imagine Lewis and Clark. He could get you across any situation!!

If you've ever had a serious poison ivy rash, it becomes perfectly clear why the canyon was named Death Hollow! I was there 23 years ago . . . a magical place.
Joey is awesome. He's made trips to a lot of my favorites and has given me inspiration for others. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful country and have the ability to enjoy it like this.

I "was on this hike" with you the last time you hiked Death Hollow and loved it just as much this time. The scenery is stunning as as usual you do such a good job showing it to us. Morning Catherine--Wow! That looked pretty scary descending down that wall into Death's Hollow! Fortunately you had your trekking poles for stability. Amazing how Joey could just run down the wall. He's as agile as a mountain goat. I'd be too nervous for that. Your campsite's views of the canyon's cliffs with pine trees was stunningly beautiful. Your river hike looked like an enchanting passage through time, as it took many moons for the canyon to be created over millennia. Thanks Joey for carrying Cat's backpack and helping her through the Crux! ❤🌵🏜

That is a very scenic hike, could be good trout fishing to, I've done a lot of Creek hiking too, one trick is to bring a large garbage bag to float the pack through deap spots where you might have to swim.

Ok, I know this is weird but i actually cried watching this. This TH-cam phenomenon is also just plain weird. We've known you and Joey for a good few years. We first saw you in the Grand Canyon with Joey on his channel, then all the subsequent hikes and friends. We missed Joey immensely and now his channel is gone. Its crazy wonderful that youre traveling together. Im thinking your friendship is very solid. I want to say I think opening your channel to "both of you being equal hosts" is a great idea; your solid relationship can likely pull that off quite well. Interviews, comments, humor from both of you....like so many other channels with couples. That brings even a richer dimension to your already great channel. Your channel doesnt need anything ... but right there the two of you opening it up to that fullness delights my socks off...my socks are dry her in Arizona......Im heading north this week. to crazy Moab, The Winds, then a good long time in Yellowstone. Yes, Im a full timer too with my 2022 tear drop....its in my blood, the cry of the wilderness.

When you look down into the canyon , my first thoughts are , "why" , then once you are down they are "why not". What a mostly arduous trek - well done you two.

That edgy stretch with the plunge pools, your Crux, is known as The Keyhole on maps. It's a good name because it almost tunnels through the rock, like a subway tunnel almost except with a slot of sky above. There is a subterranean feature a lot like this in Zion, known as The Subway. It is trickier than The Keyhole and requires some ropework if you approach it from one direction. . . . It deserves mentioning that if one goes through The Keyhole wearing a pack, you should unbuckle the belt, so it does not become a dead weight if you should slide off into the plunge pool. Though It goes without saying, not sliding off that wet ledge in the first place is the better way. A couple of the pools can be deep. . . . This walk through Death Hollow was my first long pack trip, back in 1991. It has changed a lot since then, but a lot of it never changes. The Keyhole took my breath away that first time. It had rained hard all night the night before and it was full and cold. I was so glad to be through it. . . . Thanks to both of you for the images. Good camerawork and editing.
Yes, I could feel the magic of that place through my screen 😄. I always wondered if you don’t get a lot of blisters walking in and out of water constantly.
It’s interesting to hear you comment about “you’re a little afraid of heights “, and then proceed along rock ledges and river shelves that would make the rest of us probably “soil our socks”. I’m sorry but fearful is not something that easily comes to mind about you at all. Maybe something more like fearless with a good dose of sensible. Absolutely beautiful area.

I caught the name of the trail and had to watch. Imagine my surprise when you showed the mail trail head. Back in the late 20s /30s my grandfather hauled mail on that trail. Not sure how long or for sure the year(s).

I drove an 18 wheeler for 5 years 17 yrs ago and like you I wanted to drive by myself. I drove mostly 11 western states and so so many beautiful small towns. This hike is high on our list, but not gonna lie, that sketchy crawling part makes us nervous. 😂 We've done sketchy things before, though (Angels Landing and Delta Lake), so hopefully, it will be fine! Well, I'm one of those who definitely CANNOT relate 😊I choose to live vicariously through you and others YT'ers like you who share similar journeys. I lived my life in my 20's, 30's and 40's and now I just love watching all my YT channels I subscribe to and get to see all the amazing journey's y'all enjoy firsthand and up close. That death hollow canyon hike definitely was AMAZING!! Thank God for Joey who was there to help film and guide. Always best to go with a good friend 😊
