Hey everyone! If you like this video...check out my most recent trip up in Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies. It's one of the most magnificent places on earth and we have it all to ourselves! Here is the link. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/hpU8F2BVlcU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=48ZfiJWUv8vzH_dy
Quite an experience! Thank you! I am 77 yrs old and have had a lung transplant. I live vicariously through the travels of fine people like you. God Bless!
It's wonderful to be able to go anywhere in the world isn't it? But nothing better than being healthy enough to go to these places..I can't make a lot of these places either..I depend on this computer so much..
Someone said they can't watch a long video🤪..... Man, I sure can....I love them....i absolutely love going with you and Joey through the beauty and adventure....the longer the video the better. Thanks for all the hard work producing them.
So much for warmer climes, eh? This one is spectacular and in a class by itself. May Almighty God Continue to Bless, Guard, Guide, and Protect you in your adventures.
What a treat to have this long video from you! Thanks so much, Caterine. Stunning videography per usual. We don't think anyone does this better than you. It was nice to see your friends, Joey and Kyle, as well. ❤
Stunning video Catherine. Beautiful scenery and fabulous music. You are a trooper with all the cold water crossings and challenging trails. My 70 year old feet would never make it. Thanks for sharing this unbelievable trip.
So calming to watch nature's wonders with Kathy's lovely music. Kathy Looks amazing and vibrant. Thank you for the vlog, I never thought New Mexico had such a beautiful place
At 4:19 there is a small dwelling in the cliff. 50 years ago, several of my classmates from NMSU and I went backpacking to the Gila Wilderness. It was February and COLD. First night we slept in that dwelling trying to stay warm. It was in much better shape back then. My friends almost froze that night. I, however, had a goose down sleeping bag and was toasty warm. One of my best memories from college.
Hi Joey ! Glad to see you once again w/Cat. Cat, many compliments on your artistic ability to photograph/ edit/ add the right music. Takes a special talent that is much appreciated and surely enjoyable for your viewers. As a side note for anyone who does not realize those river crossings can be treacherous.
Another absolutely stunning trip. I enjoyed it so much. It’s some thing I can’t do and it was absolutely beautiful. The shots just took my breath away. Thank you for taking me along.
Hello Catherine, this is Gary. I love your successful show. I watch it every Sunday or when it comes out almost every time religiously bless your heart and bless your travels your friend Gary.
I knew before that you are strong and brave. But seeing some of the steep hills you traversed, the water crossings, and the sheer length of this trip- with all the weather you faced- I am staggered! You. Are. So. Strong! Incredible beauty in these views. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤❤❤❤
Cat, you out did yourself this time. I saw in you some personality traits that I haven't seen before. Good friends, good trails, fantastic scenery, really brought out the real Cat. this time. You are doing what you like and it shows!
Holy Water Crossings batman 🤫 In Florida ..There are 'things' in the water. That campsite 🧐...wow Thanks for showing people how to make good decisions when out in the bush. 👍
35 years ago I was in there, it began to rain, 2 days it rained, The Ghila went from this little stream to a raging torrent more than 20 feet deep. Ron and I had moved up on a ledge and made camp... at 2 am the water was almost at our camp. We had to move higher. The bridge in Cliff was under water and the town was flooded. Always an adventure.
You guys all deserve a big thank you for that amazing trip. I think you made me realize i maybe too old to take that hike. I had fun in your pack, thanks for taking me along with you. Love you guys. Your friend in Pennsylvania. Bob
Joey is such a nice person and so watchful over you. A true friend. This was a beautiful trip to watch, but I must admit, I wouldn’t have liked all of those water crossings. Brrr. Thank you for the respite from daily life.
Wonderful video, Katherine. Seeing you all examine the wolf prints in the snow was so moving. That scene pressed up against my reading of Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. “‘We reached the old wolf in time to watch a fierce green fire dying in her eyes,’ he wrote later. ‘I realized then, and have known ever since, that there was something new to me in those eyes - something known only to her and to the mountain’.” Thank goodness the Gila Wilderness is protected and that wolfs are being reintroduced. Thanks to you, Joey and Kyle for heralding this treasure to all people.
Even though I'm 70 and have had a lot of backpacking experience, I'm scared of winter camping! But I think with an MSR 4 season tent, a 0 degree sleeping bag and some good gloves, maybe I could do this. It was very beautiful out there. Not at all like the recent Sierra blizzard with their 140 mph winds and 7 foot snow drop!
Catherine, you outdid yourself on this one. The mountains and trails were beautiful. The river crossings were a challenge for sure. Your videos are so beautifully done. Thank you for this epic video with you and Joey and Kyle. Just magnificent.😊❤😊❤😊❤
That was an epic adventure between the scenery and water crossings and weather. thanks for sharing with us; you do such a great job filming and editing!!!!
Yes! Lots of channels are doing interesting research in the area of alternative history that has recently been presented to us. You would need a really open mind and heart to be able to receive this stuff without allowing the ego to shut off all possibilities because the ideas are way outside of our comfort zones and very much contradicts the current accepted narrative we all grew up with. It's all very fascinating if you can handle it! @@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism
You're posting great backpacking videos! I was there last fall solo hiking, so viewing this is throwback time😄 Started from NW Willow Creek◭ over Turkeyfeather down West Fork and back up Middle Fork. I love Wilderness hiking. Clean soil, clear water, thick grass. No cattle, no fences, no trash.
Catherine we have asked before on different channels and yet to get a response so we will ask here how do you cross rivers or streams and not get blisters on your feet from walking with wet shoes?
Your long form hiking videos are some of the best work you've done. Beautiful video and music. The campfire shots are a great way to end the hiking day. Keep up the great videos !
Beautiful views from the plateau. The amount of water crossings were unreal. You had everything mother nature offered up. Rain, snow, wind, water crossings and the end was wolf tracks.
wow. Best you’ve done yet! I’m a 72 man who backpacked extensively in my college days . My memories are great but my pictures pale in comparison to what you produce. Terrific!
This area reminds me in parts of the Montañas Vacias Region in Spain where a 700 km bikepacker trail goes through beautiful empty landscapes. I thought there were only deserts in New Mexico. I See, I was wrong.
Wow, New Mexico looking so incredibly beautiful as usual. The Gila wilderness has been calling me lately. I am only 6 hours from here. Love that you are showing us the backcountry, just awe striking! Sending wishes of adventure, health and happy living. ♥
I like the "tent talks"- your eyes are so beautiful in that lighting. Those river crossings looked difficult- glad no one slipped. I turned back from a backpacking trip in Kings Canyon because the stream crossings were so scary
Absolutely a stunning video. I lived in Taos NM for 4 years, The Land of Enchantment is truly Magical✨✨✨ This was really a treat to watch and enjoy your adventure. Thank you 🙏 everyone should visit NM at least once in their life.
I'm so grateful for your channel. The treatment you give these scenes and activities is so relaxing and makes me hope and plan to hike again. I hope you'll be back soon.
That was an awesome video. A friend of mine and his brother hiked and camped that area 50+ years ago when we were in high school. It brought back a lot of memories. Thank you...
Wow, you all are such hardy folks. Cat, in all your videos you take me to places and have challenging experiences that I will never have. Thank you for taking me out into the wilderness with you.
Cougar country, yea no kidding. Look at the trees, water and terrain. Those kitties scare the snot out of me. Wolves and bears a little but Cougars are a special breed of scary. Great video with such amazing scenery.

Come back and do the Mt. Robson trail in Jasper. It’s stupendous!

Hard to believe anyone would put a negative comment on your videos. Your videos are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your journey! ❤️😁👍
I LIVED JUST A FEW MILES SOUTH OF THE GILA FOR MANY YEARS, SO FABULOUS. NEW MEXICO IS A VERY SACRED PLACE
I think if that was a Wolf print, they may have been following you for days. In my mystical world, they were keeping you safe. ❤
Safe from what - bears?😁
@@judyclark8653 Good questions, I thought the same when I wrote the Post. Lolol💗
That print in my opinion was not large enough for a wolf .
Awesome hike and locale.
Thanx Cat
@@judyclark8653 Only the wolves know.😮😄
Humans... It's what's for dinner! (Say the wolves...)
I've told you once and I'll say it again; I love the music you choose for your videos!
Yup, agree!
Hi. Anyone know the string piece that starts at around 29:05?
@@RoselynNY most of this is done with the synthesizer. You can even do the vibrato of a violin on a synthesizer.

Yay! Thank you!
Catherine, you are one tough, strong and courageous woman and an inspiration to us.👭 You did this in the winter!
Beautiful! New Mexico is the "Land of Enchantment"!
Love New Mexico ❤
We live real close to The Gila, love exploring the wonderful area. Thanks for showing the rest of the world our special place.
It was good to see Joey again I've missed his videos. New Mexico is one of my favorites places to go.

Excellent honest and real insight into long distance WIlderness hiking.
What a beautiful world we live in! Enjoyed the hike, thanks for taking us along. Stay healthy stay happy🤠
Wow! Thanks. I kayaked down the Gila, camping along the way. Fell in love and named my dog Gila!
What a blessing this is!
I understand the Gila river is the only unobstructed wild river in the US. Locals are active in keeping it that way. Pretty special.
