Ciri doesnt die in the worst ending, she doesnt come back to Geralt. Theres a painting in the hut that depicts the tower where she goes to "defeat" the White Frost with a swallow flying out of it
Correct - was hinted at if you pay careful attention and in the next-gen update they moved the painting so it was easier to see in that endings cutscene.

I think one reason they can do that is that the mutations give them a connection to magic they otherwise wouldn't. This franchise means so damn much to me. TW3 was so beautiful, I honestly cannot wait to see TW4 and how Ciri has matured and her story where she takes us. If they can pull off Ladies of the Woods, Tower of Mice, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine style quests, then they've already smashed it as far as I'm concerned. Oh, and no way they're neglecting us of Gwent. Ciri needs to be playing Gwent.
PS. New voice actress is completely fine. TW fanbase can be quite awful at times. These voice actors/actresses have jobs too. Stop being so darn intolerable, especially since Ciri is older and rougher, so the newer voice being a tad more aggressive, yet still feminine, completely works for me.
Yeah, I have some questions about the lore and incorporating TW3 endings, but as long as they take the time to answer those and have a good story to tell - shouldn't be a problem. The way they talk about making the open world deeper and more complex instead of just bigger is great. And I'm pretty excited about build opportunities with Ciri - there are different "sets" of abilities she would be able to lean into, and each should have a different meaning to her character.
I don't understand people's problems with a power nerf of Ciri. It doesn't have to be "in the lore". It happens in every single RPG game where the protagonist exists in multiple games (or has more a past than as a teenager). Geralt was barely able to handle 6 wolves in White Orchard in W3, yet I had just finished W2 where he fought a dragon. There doesn't have to be a lore reason. It is a game, and some things have to be adapted to make it work and be fun.
Indeed, games always nerf characters because you can't have your MC be at the end of their journey at the start of the game. I feel like people are just trying to find reasons to be mad tbh. People acting like it's been out for 6 months. 😭
Don't forget Kratos, THE dude that suppossedly destroyed an entire pantheon gets beaten by a random undead, and don't forget your Leviathan Axe and Blade of Chaos is as useless as a paper if you are under leveled for a weapon with the lore of literally the force of destruction itself And i haven't even mentioned Vergil and Dante yet, two brothers that can single handedly destroy entire universe, yet they can't survive a fall from these platforming sections, despite in the cutscenes they literally diving down from falling and survives For the sake of gameplay balancing, people are fine with it.
Been seeing a lot of videos either excited or tearing apart the Witcher 4 game. I think that what fans want CD Project Red to do is be true to the lore, the characters, and the past 3 games. All we can do right now is speculate or overthink the game all from a trailer. Can we just wait and see how much more information will come out? The Ciri endings are fairly easy to resolve....settling the politics in the northern realms is gonna be tough. Also, Ciri's attitude isn't hard...she's gonna be a different Witcher around Geralt than she is around random villagers
Geralt also started as a do gooder and then got a dose of the real world. Ciri is mad because her ideals are being continually crushed imo. Yeah I put Djikstra in charge because a unified north under a competent ruler is the only way to balance out Nilfgard. Also I went from books to 3 since I dont play on PC so no emotional attachments.
Probably won't happen, but I wish they would go back and correct Djikstra's horrible ending questline and have him take over Redania. Regardless, it will DEFINITELY be hard to resolve the political rule while respecting the player's choices in TW3. The simplest, but maybe not satisfying resolution would be an inevitable invasion by Nilfgaard that nullifies the player's choices. A bit more satisfying would be having the player choose via dialogue options at the beginning what the state of the northern realms is, then make a few small narrative branches that don't have huge impacts on the exact setting of the game.

Ngl the biggest carryover I want to see is Ciri meeting Regis. And him essentially glazing Geralt over his deeds during the Night of Long Fangs. Then them sharing some mandrake brew and chatting through the night. If that doesn’t happen the games a 0/10 for me 😂
Yes tho she was already tolerant to potions because when you finish the game and you didn't fully romance Yen or ginger. Witcher Ciri comes to Corvo instead and she mentions she drank some black blood to defeat a Garkain on her way to Corvo😊
I think "respecting the endings" refer to the core 3. Becomes a Witcher, becomes a princess, dies. So she probably dies in the frost but wasnt really dead, just took some time away, returns to become a princess then quits to be a Witcher.
Possible reason for undergoing the mutations: It causes sterility and she's fighting against the prophecy of her birthing a great, possibly world-ending power.
@justaquietpeacfuldance except falling down the stairs doesn't come with greater strength, healing, lengthened life, and following in the footsteps of her family. Reasons can be complicated. And not wanting to be used for power (as she might be if she ascended as a mage) or for her breeding potential is definitely a strong reason. As a witcher she wouldn't be required to move in the circles of greater Powers and she could, instead, just live.

I cant wait to see what CDPR do with the combat system in this game after Cyberpunk 2077. They always try to one-up themselves and they learned a lot from Cyberpunk about how to make skills feel fun and interesting.
If anything, i hope they take big inspirations from God of War, Kratos is as OP a character can be, yet it's balanced, and if the coin rumors are true that her Elder Blood remains, we can only imagine what kind of combos people would come up with, TW4 might be the one to wash off the stigma of Witcher games having awful combat.
I don't have a problem with a blank or an established character, but Ciri is pretty much the worst choice from a lore/gameplay perspective, because they'll have to do a huge amount of shifting and explaining
Ciri did actually die in the best Witcher 3 ending and afterword the false Ciri is inspired to become a Witcher so you actually play as false Ciri in Witcher 4
what if they do something like they did with Cyberpunk and gave options for the origin but, instead they give options for the endings you get for TW3. whether you played TW3 or not, you could choose an "origin" kind of beginning. As though no matter what "Ending" or "Origin" was picked, Ciri still could have gone on that path for awhile and left or snuck away to do her thing. She is known to go her own way in a sort as I've gathered from the books and TW3. I could see that as a possible way to get around the endings of TW3. I mean, it is an RPG after all.
The potential of how strong Ciri is or is gonna get in the game is fascinating to think about. Maybe she can even get to the point where she actually stands a chance against characters like Gaunter o dim or the OP ancient vampire that wrecks geralt in DLC
bad news boys in an interview with people involved with making the witcher 4 with EuroGamer. the directors of the game will be exploring sexism of women in medieval history through Ciri's view point. they are gonna TLoU2 it. the directors of the Witcher 3 left and have started their own studio. cant say anything for sure, and i 100% want a new Witcher game and i knew ciri would be a major role in all that. im just not interested in playing a FANTASY game that tells how horrible of a person i am bc i was born male. yes the directors have confirmed that ciri is a witcher...

@ nah your comment is joke. What you did was a False equivalence fallacy. Just because they did have issues that they tackled in the previous Witchers. however It was never designed to be politically motivated. It was part of the story and complemented the main premise. The witch 4 is completely different it is using the name and world of the Witcher to convey a message which IS politically motivated. In story telling there is a natural way of doing things. Well we have to wait and see how the game comes out. But i know a fair amount of medieval history. Enough to know that the Witcher didn’t take place during the medieval period. So im curious on what tropes they decided to lean on in lieu of actual history of sake of saying the message.
My biggest fear about TW4 is, how and why she would go through the trial of grasses. I really hope they take their time on that and give me a solid reason and I wouldn't mind a pissed off Yennefer that tells her how extremely stupid it is either. In CDPR's own breakdown they explain how the Bauk prays on fear and when it's holding Ciri, it's saying "fate cannot be change, you can't change anything", so I'd take it that that's Ciri's fear. I'm thinking that has to be one of the main reasons why she did the trial of grasses, since her entire life has been decided and planned out by others. She wants to escape the fate of her blood both elder and royal and maybe the trial is an attempt at that.
Never heard that "Bauk" was described as spider-like in Serbian mythology. Bauk is just a mythical monster that old villagers used to scare the children. "Don't go to the forest alone, bauk will get you!" Some authors are connecting bauk to bear or bear-like creature, but it is mostly ambiguous shape, shadowy figure, fear of the unknown. Pauk, with P, is Serbian word for a spider, but it is totally different.
If they make this into another trilogy, we can visit most of the Continent in that time! Like W4 can take place in (maybe not fully but parts of) Redania, Kovir and Povis, Kaedwen and maybe even part of Aedirn (this probs too much). In W5 we can see Sodden, Brugge, Cintra and Nazair (maybe even Mettina)... In W6 we can see the southern part of the Continent like Vicovaro, Gemmera and finally Nilfgaard! And further south maybe even Ofir in the final expansion to W6! :D But then again, so many places seem too ambitions lol... Now that I look at the map, W3 only took place in a tiny corner of Temeria and Redania + Novigrad, only Skellige were shown in their full size. Also mostly full size for Toussaint in the DLC. Just so much options, too easy to go overboard with imagination but hardly possible to make everything... =)
My theory for her sword looking different was pretty straightforward: In the W3 when you upgraded your gear, including Swords, it changed how your gear looked. What if it is indeed the same sword given to her by Geralt in the Witcheress ending and she upgraded it between then and W4? So this is the upgraded version of the same sword. Maybe in the beginning of W4 we'll even get to start with the Zirael sword how we saw it at the end of W3 and we'll be able to upgrade it ourselves after the prologue of W4?
9:52 She lost her Elder Blood super powers yet the reason she survived the Trial of The Grasses is because of her Elder Blood?! So she changed her DNA? You can't just change or (LOSE) your DNA completely, She's born with it, with the powers! its obvious CDPR wanted a strong independent female protagonist even if it destroys the lore/books.
@@sillylittlesheepjax6009 What is Elder Blood mean? Do you think Elder Blood just means teleport abilities you complete Restard! Elder blood is a mutant gene you can't (LOSE)
If they say they are going to be faithful to all the endings of the Witcher 3 I thing your save at the end of W3 will determine if she is a Witcher or not and the trailer is just showing 1 of meny outcomes. Also one thing to remember is the Witcher 3 trailer actually took place months or years after the Witcher 3 ended so we don’t know if her been a Witcher is something that can happen in the Witcher 4 or something she may need to do in order to do what she must do and we could choose if she takes the trial of the grasses?
CDPR did confirm that witcher Ciri is canon no? I don't think they're mincing words. Not only would it be difficult to manage, it would be too far of a divergence from the central story line to attempt to build a whole game off three vastly different endings. Imagine then trying to make a Witcher V lol
It occurs to me that Witcher 3 already stretched the lore pretty damn hard, when Yennefer performs the Trial of the Grasses on Avallac'h. Knowledge of the Trial has been lost for years. The renegade Witcher sorcerers are all gone and now no sorcerers knows much about it. Sure you could argue Yennefer had time to do some research and figured it out. But she performs the Trial as if it's risky but otherwise no big deal, when she has never performed the Trial ever before. People don't hate stretching the lore, they hate bad writing.
it was not the Trial. They gave him some decoctions that get body ready for mutations "opens up the body" is a quote. Then Yen lifted the curse with magic. That's all there was to it. People are clinging on it.

To point 2 of respecting all endings... it is something I am worried about. I think handling all of the Ciri related items is going to be easy for them to do. They can just be 'life paths' like Cyberpunk where she gets a prologue with whatever explanation they come up with why she became a Witcher. Wouldn't actually surprise me if the prologue for Witcher 4 is rather large to offer an explanation for all of this stuff. But as far as all of the ones that impact the wider world and have massive political influence? I fear that the game may start to avoid that part of the series and just kind of mention politics in kind of an offhanded way or something like that. Because not only would this impact who you meet if you go to interact with a political leader somewhere - but it would (in theory) have an impact on who rules over certain parts of the map, if they are suffering or flourishing and so on.
I honestly wonder if Ciri didn’t choose the Trial of the Grasses as a way to break free of her “curse”. The mutations might change the Elder Blood to the point it isn’t the Elder Blood, and she probably wouldn’t see infertility as a bad thing. The Trial also might be far easier for her because it would be Yennefer performing the Trial on a willing adult, rather than a mage doing it on random disposable children. I’m overall looking forward to Witcher 4.
I wonder if by her taking Witcher mutations she loses her elder blood abilities but because of them her signs are heightened to be like that of a mage? Or something about the Witcher mutations affecting her elder blood abilities and she's on the path trying to get them back? In my opinion that could be pretty cool but I think CDPR will have something bigger/better
The whole idea of Ciri being a mutant just sounds bad to me. It's like turning Geralt into a magician. Yes, you can probably make it possible, but it would still be strange and unfitting.
I think it is an area of League of Hengfors (between Kovir and Kaedwen). Area known from the short story "The Bounds of Reason". Why? It looks like a mountainous, northern part of an area. I don`t think it`s Kovir (which is not a place where you expect to meet supersticious, desperate villagers, it is more like industrialized, developed country, something like 17th century Netherlands). I don`t think it`s Kaedwen too, bc Kaedwen`s colours are gold and black while Hengfors has red and white. We can see a lot of white and red on the girl`s clothes. I hope there will be a meeting with a dragon and maybe Borch Three Jackdaws. It is one of the best characters not yet seen in the games.
If she loses her power loke said in the interview maybe becoming a witcher is like a reset, starting her from zero and having to build her way back up again. It's an easy narrative choice there. As for the endings all making sense, her death ending is a little hard but the other two I think are rather easy. The witcher ending isn't, add the events where she loses her powers and boom easy fit. If she is empress well maybe she was deposed, her family killed and she was cast out, maybe my mages or some other force, perhaps even directly linked to why she lost her powers "elder blood powerful" and all that. And her becoming a witcher isn't just about getting access to her powers but to gain power to properly take revenge.
Also, one more note since I loved the video... Rebel Wolves has said their upcoming RPG is going to be about the map size/time length of Blood and Wine. Which I think is great, if it is packed full of quality content. I think that Phantom Liberty did an incredible job at this. The map was big, but it wasn't oversized. It had a lot of side content, but none of it felt forced or out of place. Which is to say that I hope they kind of reign the scope of the game in size wise and focus on quality rather than just having 13804234 points of interest. That being said I do still think there should just be SOME rogue bandit camps, monster nests, etc.
a very informative video but I have a couple of concerns regarding three of co-authors who worked on Witcher 3 and cyberpunk and now they formed their own studio Rebel Wolves right on while Witcher 4 in development it raises the alarm of the quality of Witcher 4

As the first thing i want to say that only the witcher 4 is a game i will be playing as a female character in games. I find it really dumb to have female charaters (outside magical stuff) when male are physical are much stronger. I would really like to be hunting the last of the crones, and this trailer monster already looks like this witch in a evolved form of sorts. To be a nice follow up of geralt 3. And besides this i really hated that we had to unlock some parts of normal skills for witchers. Swirl and rend should have been standard.
I want normal Gwent. The way it was played in TW3... I really didn't enjoy the mobile game. Ciri as the protag is fine... as long as there's a good story and gameplay, i have no problem with playing as her
The way they balanced Gwent for competitive PvP was actually fantastic and far surpasses the game version in terms of deck building and sheer number of creative strategies. I'm fine sticking with the game version though, it works well for scripted AI opponents.
I am relatively possitive that they can deliver on what they say... but dammm romancing with ciry is going to feel so awkward... like... am I really going to turn Geralt's adoptive doughter into a lesbian gigolo...? or do i just completly ignore this aspect of the game ???
Ciri still has the powerful people trying to breed her problem. There are three ways she could solve it. Die (I don't think she wants to do that), become a sorceress (which is unlikely because she doesn't trust them), or undergo the trial of the grasses. I think she picks this hoping it will make her sterile and avoid the prophecy.

Your inability to play as a woman is a deep seated personal issue of yours. Men and women are different, but similar enough to empathize. It’s possible to “identify” WITH a woman because we both go through similar emotional hurdles and challenges in life. Fiction in video games can bridge the gap even further. It’s not weird unless YOU make it weird.
@@austinsharpe8157 I dont think its a problem for someone not being able to identify as a woman that well. Many women also cant identify with a male protagonist. For me sex isnt the issue, but this definitely is and this isnt any different then the sex thing.
The more I think about the Trailer and Ciri as a protagonist, the more I'm worried. Because they have to 1. Either change 2 of the Witcher 3 endings or make one canonical 2. Have to explain how Ciri got her magic back 3. Explain why she lost her elder blood abilities 4. How she became a witcher, since for all we know every female that "tried" died 5. Why the hell she'd even want to go through with the mutations, since there's a huge chance she'll die or become a cripple 6. Who the fluff would even be willing to do that to her, because Geralt and cohorts would never do it 7. How would she even survive as a Witcher, since even in the games there're less and less monsters, so they'll have to make a new conjunktion. Which I honestly don't have a problem with 8. They are now working with UE5. Which means, new engine for them to learn and a probably pretty steep system requirements 9. DEI commitments at CDPR
I'm still mystified by the choice. Ciri is interesting as Ciri, not nerfed into being a Witcher. It's a bit like Superman losing his powers and becoming Batman--what makes those characters who they are is baked into their abilities. Can they make this work? It's possible, but I have a lot of concerns and the trailer did not help.
Yeah really struggling with the fact that we will be forced to play as a female. Nothing wrong just me personally I really dont like it. And most fans are male anyway? No romances in this game cus i aint gay...
Finally, a reasonable take I have my concerns too but I'm not positive because they are just lying through their teeth to calm everyone Like you mention, these issues are impossible to fix Also one thing you don't mention, their idea of respecting the lore, is that Ciri was always the main protagonist in the books - to borrow a phrase from the dwarves, I spit on that

@Roland1405 wish us all luck And they have been notorious at botching it, especially carrying endings But the biggest red flag here is them, even the narrative department, saying that Ciri was always the main protagonist even in the books and the other being forgetting everything she has learnt in the many trials in the books But good luck
About her becoming a witcher to "get rid off" her powers, 'elder blood', etc. 1) Trial is not guaranteed to work that way. 2) It is death as far as knowledge of everyone involved goes. 3) She'd have to be at peace with almost certainly ending her life before undergoing this process. Let me quickly put it this way - A character jumps from the 5th floor of a building and only brakes the legs... I wonder, what happened that led the character to this point? Was she so depressed that life didn't matter? Was she forced to to jump? Or was she just so damn stupid to believe that the fall will only result in breaking lower limbs? Jokingly - did she just read the script beforehand? I don't like that silly fan theory of Ciri Sue "oh, because she wanted to" She'd have to be willing to END herself or sacrafice life - it has to be absolutley huge to make any sense at all... if you actually think about it and you're not just a stan for her becoming a witcher. Just be honest about what's going on.
What level of writing quality and complexity do you require to be able to enjoy playing a game set in the world of the witcher? After reading the books it was pretty clear to me that the games definitely aren't canon. The justification we got for Geralt, Yennefer and Regis returning was by no means anything great or special in terms of writing. It was just enough of a reason for us to accept and enjoy playing a game set in the witcher world, and it will likely be no different for the story of Ciri becoming a witcher.
@justaquietpeacefuldance is that all? Well that's very doable considering W3s story justification for Geralt, Yen and Regis wasn't anything special. Ciri Sue is pretty funny. That's what's she's always been. But apparently the old "Chosen One" trope is only okay for novels and not video games..😂
if ciri were forced to have a child, would she maintain full elder blood power, or does that pass on somehow.....i just think the story could be something insanely dark....like the villian could actually end up being her own child or something crazy
Interesting further lore point is that (canonically) Nilfgard must have lost the war. If Nilfgard won then Emhyr is presumably still alive and even as far north as Kovir, his massive spy network would tell him that the world’s only Witcheress looks exactly like his missing and assumed (by him) dead daughter.

She'd have to be willing to END or sacrafice life - it has to be absolutley huge to make any sense at all...
Stopping "fate" or becoming sterile at the cost of life? I don't think that's a good deal.
Would anyone jump from 5th floor in hopes that they only break lower limbs? We'll unless you got plot armour I guess and gullible audience that's gonna run with anything as long as they get product.
The problem with that idea is that it's still a huge risk and she could achieve the same goal much easier.
@hannes5437 In magically reversible ways, probably not. My guess is that the easier methods can be reversed by a skilled enough mage
@@jerQCote Not really, but even if we assume that, she could still just become a mage and have the same end without having a 90+% chance of dying or becoming a cripple
@hannes5437 sorceresses aren't inherently sterile. Even Keira says she's planning on getting pregnant from a party hookup in the books.
She recovered her connection to magic in the books. She never lost it entirely. The event takes place in The Tower of Swallow.
Kalemba said "far north of where the games have taken place" look on a map it's Kovir, we've already played two games that have taken place in parts of Kaedwen.
All this hype has me rereading the books!
Don't forget Kratos, THE dude that suppossedly destroyed an entire pantheon gets beaten by a random undead, and don't forget your Leviathan Axe and Blade of Chaos is as useless as a paper if you are under leveled for a weapon with the lore of literally the force of destruction itself
And i haven't even mentioned Vergil and Dante yet, two brothers that can single handedly destroy entire universe, yet they can't survive a fall from these platforming sections, despite in the cutscenes they literally diving down from falling and survives
For the sake of gameplay balancing, people are fine with it.
Been seeing a lot of videos either excited or tearing apart the Witcher 4 game. I think that what fans want CD Project Red to do is be true to the lore, the characters, and the past 3 games.

@@specialnewb9821
Probably won't happen, but I wish they would go back and correct Djikstra's horrible ending questline and have him take over Redania. Regardless, it will DEFINITELY be hard to resolve the political rule while respecting the player's choices in TW3. The simplest, but maybe not satisfying resolution would be an inevitable invasion by Nilfgaard that nullifies the player's choices.
A bit more satisfying would be having the player choose via dialogue options at the beginning what the state of the northern realms is, then make a few small narrative branches that don't have huge impacts on the exact setting of the game.

I think "respecting the endings" refer to the core 3. Becomes a Witcher, becomes a princess, dies. So she probably dies in the frost but wasnt really dead, just took some time away, returns to become a princess then quits to be a Witcher.
Possible reason for undergoing the mutations: It causes sterility and she's fighting against the prophecy of her birthing a great, possibly world-ending power.
no easier way to become sterile? It's like those horror stories about women falling down stairs to get rid of the baby in America.

Ciri is the best option tbh. I love V, but don't want that kind of character for a Witcher game
Well this isn't Ciri either
Not a Witcher too, but some kind of hybrid mage mutant, as he cleared in the video
I’m the exact opposite I want that kind of character in a Witcher game. I’ll play as myself in the Witcher universe that be awesome.
I don't have a problem with a blank or an established character, but Ciri is pretty much the worst choice from a lore/gameplay perspective, because they'll have to do a huge amount of shifting and explaining

what if they do something like they did with Cyberpunk and gave options for the origin but, instead they give options for the endings you get for TW3. whether you played TW3 or not, you could choose an "origin" kind of beginning. As though no matter what "Ending" or "Origin" was picked, Ciri still could have gone on that path for awhile and left or snuck away to do her thing. She is known to go her own way in a sort as I've gathered from the books and TW3. I could see that as a possible way to get around the endings of TW3. I mean, it is an RPG after all.
something like the start of dragon age origins would be nice to have
They could do it, but it kinda fells like a cheap way to get out of the paradox of having a canon ending and still not choosing one.
I actually love her new voice. Fits perfect for a gritty badass Ciri as a Witcher 👌
You should watch CD Projekt Reds interview with the Friends per Second podcast. Hearing their response to lore concerns put me at ease.
The potential of how strong Ciri is or is gonna get in the game is fascinating to think about. Maybe she can even get to the point where she actually stands a chance against characters like Gaunter o dim or the OP ancient vampire that wrecks geralt in DLC

I was hoping to get a look at nilfgaard, But as long as it's as good as the witcher 3

They gonna have a DLC at Corvo Bianco wherein you play as Geralt comin out of retirement.
But then again, so many places seem too ambitions lol...

Cir becoming empress is the best ending.
I agree because she can make the greatest impact maybe put Geralt out of a job. Wait nvm its a evil idea

@@johnsrhorgan Vesemir asks how did she manage to do it and she basically says it was a well educated guess. It's ambient dialogue that plays straight after the trial.
Because not only would this impact who you meet if you go to interact with a political leader somewhere - but it would (in theory) have an impact on who rules over certain parts of the map, if they are suffering or flourishing and so on.
they never said anything abt world endings just ciri
I honestly wonder if Ciri didn’t choose the Trial of the Grasses as a way to break free of her “curse”. The mutations might change the Elder Blood to the point it isn’t the Elder Blood, and she probably wouldn’t see infertility as a bad thing. The Trial also might be far easier for her because it would be Yennefer performing the Trial on a willing adult, rather than a mage doing it on random disposable children. I’m overall looking forward to Witcher 4.
Do we know when w4 is being released roughly?
Late 2026 or 2027 probably based on CDPR earning expectations. Imo it will release in 2027 but probably late as it will get delayed.
Very good video

It is one of the best characters not yet seen in the games.
i think what u said makes sense. League of Hengfors area is pretty poor compared to Kovir.

@@justaquietpeacfuldance You shouldnt preorder any game, but not for political reasons. Its simply a fact that too many games release in unfinished state and PR campaigns can be misleading about the extend some features are implemented.
@@IsomerSoma Reasons for not preordering are my own, stop following me now correcting what I think. If I want to be political then I will be... Cry about it.
I just want it to upset the incels that only think the player caracter can be a man
learn grammar before you write anything.
It's hilarious that all the mfs complaining bout WOKE obviously never played the game as Ciri was still trained as a Witcher and now as went through the process which will be explained during the game or very beginning. Some of these grown ass pro complainers need to grow a pair and trying to live through fictional characters. If it's good play it and if it sucks dont
If I'm going to spend 300 hours plus and 75 dollars on a game I would prefer to play as the gender that I identify with (male)..
Well, then dont spend all this time and money on it.
Trust me I will not@@IsomerSoma
@@IsomerSomaI won't 😂?I will be playing The Witcher 3?
Your inability to play as a woman is a deep seated personal issue of yours. Men and women are different, but similar enough to empathize. It’s possible to “identify” WITH a woman because we both go through similar emotional hurdles and challenges in life. Fiction in video games can bridge the gap even further. It’s not weird unless YOU make it weird.
@@austinsharpe8157 I dont think its a problem for someone not being able to identify as a woman that well. Many women also cant identify with a male protagonist. And for me personally in an rpg i have to play a race that looks human enough i.e. human or elves as with other races i dont vibe as well. I wont feel as immersed. For me sex isnt the issue, but this definitely is and this isnt any different then the sex thing.
The more I think about the Trailer and Ciri as a protagonist, the more I'm worried. Because they have to 1. Either change 2 of the Witcher 3 endings or make one canonical
2. Have to explain how Ciri got her magic back
3. Explain why she lost her elder blood abilities
4. How she became a witcher, since for all we know every female that "tried" died
5. Why the hell she'd even want to go through with the mutations, since there's a huge chance she'll die or become a cripple
6. Who the fluff would even be willing to do that to her, because Geralt and cohorts would never do it
7. How would she even survive as a Witcher, since even in the games there're less and less monsters, so they'll have to make a new conjunktion. Which I honestly don't have a problem with
8. They are now working with UE5. Which means, new engine for them to learn and a probably pretty steep system requirements
Would you also frame playing witcher 1-3 as "forced to play as a male"?
split is usually (on average) 55-45 leaning males depending on the genre, RPGs are known to be close to even but will still lean male.
the split is mobile 80% and 20% - other platforms when it comes to women. Maybe start with that... 55-45 is ABSURD.
It's not gay to play as a woman, so you're correct about it being a _you_ problem.
Agreed, this is indeed a _you_ problem.
its baUK not bok :)
Finally, a reasonable take
I have my concerns too but I'm not positive because they are just lying through their teeth to calm everyone
Like you mention, these issues are impossible to fix
Also one thing you don't mention, their idea of respecting the lore, is that Ciri was always the main protagonist in the books - to borrow a phrase from the dwarves, I spit on that
Ciri and Geralt were both protagonist in saga (not in short stories - there Geralt was main protagonist)
What are you talking about? He never mentioned that there are unfixable issues. He just said that he is concerned how they explain it.
@@Roland1405 yes and one can easily read between the lines and his uneasiness
@@kaushalsuvarna5156 you’re just confirming your own bias here. A good writer can easily explain everything he is concerned about.
Plus CDPR is making (!) the lore for the games from the first one on.
@Roland1405 wish us all luck
And they have been notorious at botching it, especially carrying endings
But the biggest red flag here is them, even the narrative department, saying that Ciri was always the main protagonist even in the books and the other being forgetting everything she has learnt in the many trials in the books
But good luck
I don't like that silly fan theory of Ciri Sue "oh, because she wanted to"
She'd have to be willing to END herself or sacrafice life - it has to be absolutley huge to make any sense at all... if you actually think about it and you're not just a stan for her becoming a witcher. Just be honest about what's going on.
We expect too much from the writers
What level of writing quality and complexity do you require to be able to enjoy playing a game set in the world of the witcher?
After reading the books it was pretty clear to me that the games definitely aren't canon. The justification we got for Geralt, Yennefer and Regis returning was by no means anything great or special in terms of writing. It was just enough of a reason for us to accept and enjoy playing a game set in the witcher world, and it will likely be no different for the story of Ciri becoming a witcher.
@@justinp_ true, and it has got tiresome
As for Ciri, her constant nerfing and kidnapping had become even in the books
@@justinp_ W3 level and beyond. Ciri Sue isn't an option.
Welcome to "The WItcher's Creed: The another trilogy" era.
GAY NO GERALT BORING NOT BUYING AND DID I MENTION GAY
Interesting further lore point is that (canonically) Nilfgard must have lost the war.
If Nilfgard won then Emhyr is presumably still alive and even as far north as Kovir, his massive spy network would tell him that the world’s only Witcheress looks exactly like his missing and assumed (by him) dead daughter.
