Exactly. He's a Dad and when he's at home it's all about efficiency... But at the same time, still using his chefiness to create delicious food, still. I've been enjoying his message of not wasting ingredients or needing specific ones to make dishes. It makes home cooks really think about what could possibly work.
Love everything about what David does and how he does it. Sad to see Momo leave TO but i've been enjoying perfecting my own until he returns. Not so new cookbook is also getting me jazzed about trying clay pot cooking. Cheers to all you do Mr. C !
Thumbs up for the thin sheets of frozen garlic puree in ziploc bags stacked in the freezer. I tried being like my grandma and peeling it from whole but have since moved to pre-peeled. I love this style of cooking. It's not exactly the stuff I ate growing up but its the flavors and textures that I want to pass on to my children. Unfortunately I don't have the language skills to pass on Korean culture but hopefully through my nightly meals they grow an appreciation for the culture.
it's so nice to see someone cooking the way i might (whatever's on hand), esp stockpiling ramen packets for later use. they make an AMAZING rice pilaf too lol.
Excellent cooking lesson well received over here in Oxford E, Great Britain! Shame about the bland, unnecessary wallpaper stock music though ; seems to me to be at odds with Chefs approach dontchathink?.
i think people will try to imitate how dave cooks and either find it harder to do themselves or try it but really can't eat cause it won't taste/look what he made here
Don't forget these videos are really to push his seasonings and noodle packets. In many cases, you season all foods with your own salt & pepper, and noodles goes with many veggies and meats. He's just trying to give you ideas when certain food items aren't there and you're being a lazy mofo who just got off of a 10 hour work day and have kids.
i like how he goes on a whole thing about using scissors to cut things bc it's easier and he doesn't need to dirty another utensil to cutting to him using a knife to cut onions lol
@@ThePorkTreefor some reason what your friends experienced doesn’t surprise me… he seems like the know it all type… and what’s worse is his technique is kind of basic… in other words, i feel like he has no right to be a dick, since he’s kinda shitty himself… hope your mates are better nowadays 😊. Cheers
Anyday microwave safe cookware, the metal is fine because they are round, I have 2 sets of them, they work great. You can also use them to serve in and with the lids store in fridge.
I love that he’s showing how we should be flexible and cook whatever we’ve got in our pantry and within our children’s dietary foibles, but I don’t think I’d like these shortcuts. None of it looked appealing to me, and I love dashi, oyakodon, gyudon, and stir fries. I don’t know, maybe I’m going in with the wrong expectations.
sad to see my ex-boss cooking technique is so basic. yea i know this video prob for home cooking people. BUT ALMOST all of his video has like 1/10 technique cooking. Also, he always using his instant ramen and instant sauce whatever to cook. good marketing
Watching anything he made, would anyone want to eat at his restaurants? This whole video was to speak about packaged items and most of them were his own products. He didn't wash the vegetables, clean the shrimp from the frozen solution that it is processed in or even clean, season or marinade the frozen chicken. What a shameful and nauziating experience. Have you ever seen someone who is a celebrity restauranteur that hates cooking so much? This type of cooking explains everything about him. I hope never to see this type of cooking again from someone that sells food for that price. How appalling!
It boggles my mind how internet chat sways cooks to not touch raw chicken with their hands. TELL ME ONE PERSON WHO HAS GOTTEN SICK FROM SALMONELLA . I will wait. Most chefs only wear gloves to appease the internet trolls on camera, they don't wear gloves when the cameras are off. Even if you wear gloves, the gloves will touch what your fingers touch. It's actually gross to see content creators cater to these morons.
lol 😂 this dude is whack sending a cease and desist to everyone who has chile crunch matter of fact take your chile crunch and go eat put it on a dog or cat and eat it
Dave's level of honesty about 'survival' cooking is so refreshing and spot on! We've all been there but the end result varies greatly...😂

David Chang is one of my favourite chef's and just illustrates to me how likeable he is.
he's being opposite of most chefs, being honest and revealing the trade secrets to help commoners with cooking. lovely
Oi! Where did the audio go?
These 'Dave at home' vids are great. Clever strategy to deal with cross contamination
Love everything about what David does and how he does it. Sad to see Momo leave TO but i've been enjoying perfecting my own until he returns. Not so new cookbook is also getting me jazzed about trying clay pot cooking. Cheers to all you do Mr. C !
I always like how much he talks about flexibility of ingredients. No one else making cooking videos is really emphasizing that
They definitely are. You’re just not watching them or listening enough.

2 Michelin star chef microwaving chicken and burning the shit outta rice.
I had a good chuckle.

Ah, the Momofuku version of Knorr stock cubes...
“They’re _absolutely_ stunning; I add one to every dish.” ~Marco

I find the music to actually be very distracting!!
Korean Meat Sheers are the best kitchen scissors I've ever had. They never bend or split apart.
I love the end hearing Chris Ying not surprised at what’s going on but always like “what the hell Chang” haha
10:03 ayooooo, potty mouth David. Lol in all seriousness, thanks for these great videos y’all have been putting out!
he's right, when you go to the asian supermarket you never see giant kunts of meat lmao
hello dchang, have you heard of freezer egg cartons with them - new eggs can be left on the floor with the onions in a house. el-
Awesome Chef Dave Chang !
AND...cuz your momma does it Dave!. Just rock the kitchen scissors Dude!
i think people will try to imitate how dave cooks and either find it harder to do themselves or try it but really can't eat cause it won't taste/look what he made here

Whats the brand of pans? not the le creuset looking ones but the black sauce pans and the wok
Yes who makes the nonstick wok??
I get the fresh over prepeeled. I prefer fresh garlic after one bag of prepeeled garlic. It gets slimy and bad if not used within 2 weeks or so.
14:53 Did he burn the rice on purpose?
yes, that's literally the best part
How does the audio keep cutting out and it hasn't been fixed? I am a huge Chang fan but what the heck?
This should be titled "Home-ofuku".
I haven't seen such hacky cooking in a while, but I like it
Here for the elevator music
Oyako chicken. Oya = parents, ko = child, hence chicken and egg in the same dish!
Not lazy, optimized: as Uncle Tony would say, proper preparation prevents pisspoor performance
You should trademark rice, I hear alot of business sell it.
Great video, the only thing easier would be to order in.
I pray that one day momofuku will start making videos that dont include their one of their three ingredients from their instant ramen
I average roughly 3 bags of scallions a week. I probably eat scallions more than any other allium.
The audio cut out from 9:30 to 10:26...
Lazy and effective I can get behind this methodology
Japanese food is great
Momofuku opened near me and it was absolutely disgusting. Closed after nine months.
dudes a jerk, too. I had a bunch of friends work at momo in DC and yeah. horror stories when he came through.

all done quickly, few hours laters...
C words of beef. Haha
Giant ones!
what are those metal lids in the microwave?
Anyday microwave safe cookware, the metal is fine because they are round, I have 2 sets of them, they work great. You can also use them to serve in and with the lids store in fridge.
What’s w half the sound cut out on this? 🤷♂️
Someone may have edited out his swearing.
10:00 giant what? Nice recovery.
🤪♥️🎙️🍲
Hello. 😊
Why does david look like hes about to cry and have a break down
Giant what now? o . o 10:01

You’re right. Wrong expectations.
Lol, that's the worst oyakodon I've ever seen 😂
whats wrong with this eyes? Why does he keep doing that?

4:27 god this is so vindicating
