I really appreciate the stark difference between chef/restaurateur David Chang and regular home cook David Chang. Glad that no fingers were lost in the process of making this video.
Depends on how you are basing the ranking. There are some chefs, not Chang, who have earned double digit michelin stars. Other Chefs have guided restaurants onto the San Pellegrino top 100, including multiple first place finishes. @@pl7868
Just marinade in a zip loc overnight in fridge. Then place on beer can leave at room temp for one hour. Bake in a preheated oven at 425° for 1 hour and 20 minutes (4 pound bird) . Rest for 20 minutes. I have this apparatus I bought from Amazon that holds the beer can and the chicken fits over it properly.
I've been making beercan chicken for years. I've never seen someone struggle so much before with this. Also, it's the best chicken because whites are so juicy it's amazing
@@majordomomedia I've been doing it in the grill and smoker recently, it's even better. Also, I rub butter under the skin with whatever seasoning I have on hand. It elevates the juiciness even more :-)
Water boils at 212 degrees F. Setting the oven at 400°F, will not get the beer to boiling, does creating steam. If you’re going to make beer can chicken, dump the beer into a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Then put it back into the can, then put the chicken on top of the can and into the oven.
I *love* Dave & Chris using/promoting Athletic Brewing. I am always looking for products that give the taste of alcohol without the actual alcohol. Whether I'm cooking for/entertaining someone who can't have it or just don't want to have alcohol myself, it's nice to know what else can be used. Now if only they could find a good sub for red wine. 😂
Geez this was awesome to watch! My first thanksgiving (2011-2012?) I started cooking a 20lb turkey at about 3pm and it was done at 10pm! 😂 idk what I was doing, but it's now my favorite meal of the year! This video took me back to the (unexpected) test kitchen experience that was that day!! Hahaha! Thanks Chef!! 🤘
I’m glad Dave’s made it to this point. Messy, unapologetic, lifting chicken out of a 475 degree oven with kitchen rags AND sandals. No thermometer. But relaxed looking; content. So many chefs I know are fried by this age.
OMG, this was like watching my husband (who maybe cooks 1x per year) in the kitchen using all of the wrong tools and ingredients. I'm yelling directions at my screen as if I know how to cook better than David Chang.
Thats NOT how one does a beer can chicken. For starters, he needed a stand, specifically made for beer can cooking. Then, the neck cavity should have been covered. Lastly, beer can chicken is best done in the grill. Just my opinion...
Love the on the fly cooking. This isn’t highly edited where everything always magically works out.
We appreciate you appreciating our style!

Thank you!! We’re glad you are enjoying the format!
I love how David Chang is so secure in his image that he can do this on the fly without any editing and be totally cool with it
Thank you!! We’re embracing the free-wheeling style!
well pretty sure he is in the top 5 chefs in the world 🙂

I love this unedited style, David wearing flip flop, and don't give AF attitude. Love this! 👌🏾👍🏾
We love you for loving it, Jason! We’ll keep bringing the crazy!
Real cooking, Chef. I follow. Thanks for being the real deal. You being you as always, keep it up, loving it!!!
Thanks for the nice comment!! We appreciate you!
That is real live cooking. Love it. First attempt is always the more fun.
This is the real stuff!!
even the chicken is saying "dude are you sure" at 1:52
😬😂
I like how real this is. Like this (as a civilian) is what would happen if I tried to make beer can chicken at home.
Thanks, Keith! There are so many ways to get to the finish line…it certainly doesn’t need to “appear” perfect to turn out delicious!!
@@majordomomedia ❤️❤️❤️

Great tip!
that is how you cook chicken my friend, falling off the bone!! Nicely done!
You got that right! Thanks for watching!

We’re here for the struggle! Chicken turned out soooo tasty!

Love the honesty on the gravy. It's like killing two chickens with one beer can
100%!!
What is the brand of the roasting pan?
Hestan!
02:50 world class chef fights with raw chicken.

Athletic Wine sounds like a winner!! Thanks for watching and supporting!! 🙌
2:00 my favorite moment LOL
It was a real roller coaster in the kitchen!
We’ve all had days like this in the kitchen, just got to roll with the punches or the small chickens 🐓
You said it! 🤜🤛

That is awesome! Amazing that the struggle became the new favorite meal to cook! Thanks for watching and sharing your experience with us!!
What an absolute shambles 😂
Not gonna disagree! 😂
If David Chang can be awkward in the kitchen, then so can I!
Yes you can! We're all about kitchens being more inclusive!

When we make this at home, any suggestions on oven temp to start? Still 400? Also, unlike Dave, I will probably use a thermometer 😂
No cornstarch slurry? Brave, I always get clumps
Love the apron!
Thanks, Mary!
Dave needed to make Red Bull chicken
🤣🤣🤣

lolol, it’s part of the fun!! 😂
I should call her
An actual beer can stand may have helped a little 👩🏾🍳
so true…we need some proper gear in the kitchen one of these days!
Dont cans have a plastic liner in the inside prob shouldnt eat that sauce.

You're not wrong! As noted in the title, this is absolutely the wrong way to make beer can chicken!
