You made me see the light that alcohol is poisoning me. At 59, I was still having 3-4 drinks a night but I was having all these minor health problems - like I was stiff, tired, muscle were getting weak - I though it was just aging. But the alcohol is causing huge damage. I don't know how I was so stupid to not recognize it.

Walked through Northumbria Uni students' union recently and was surprised to see the old sticky-floored boozers replaced with coffee shops. Apparently it's the same up and down the land. So, yeah, I definitely think drinking isn't as big a part of the culture with the younger generation than it once was. Initially this depressed me a little until I realised I was romanticising alcohol again, which is always a slippery slope...

A really honest, and heart felt outpouring. I relate to it entirely. Re the weakness, it sounds as though you were experiencing alcohol induced paralysis, or at least were on the verge of it. It got me completely. I was walking with a stick at the age of 40, but i was too busy drinking to do anything about it. Finally i couldn't walk at all and had to crawl to the telephone to call my self an ambulance. The sh*t we put ourselves through, eh.

It's not just drinkers that lose out is it pal, it's also others around drinkers.
In this instance everyone having meals, families, couples, all were told to leave while paramedics worked on the drunken woman. Maybe it was fatal for her, that's why...but it's very unfair for those having a nice meal.
All because of a couple drinking too much & being out of control.

Marriage, kids, work kept me focused for a while but switched to drinking daily, way to much.
