79 in a few days, been blessed to see him in 4 generations and never disappointed, in fact the shows seen to get better. Suppose to see him 10/14 in J'ville. A constant the the blues...
Had the great pleasure of meeting Buddy in Bristol City Centre in 1965 when me'n my brother hitched up for the American Blues Festival. He was in the middle of eating his take out chicken lunch but he took the time to indulge two young aficionados. Such a humble, sweet & 'friendly chap'
Truly inspirational stuff from the amazingly talented Buddy Guy...this is the blues, right there in every breath and string bend..awesome!! You sure were born to play that geetar Mr Buddy Guy. Thank you :-)
Great Album. Had a great time at the concert last Saturday at the Westbury Theater. I've got the tie-shirt on and have been listening to the CD all week long. Thanks Buddy! Go see Buddy, he's worth every penny.
I was born in Louisiana And at the age of two My momma told my papa "Our little boy's got the blues" I grew up real fast And I've traveled very far One damn thing's for sure I was born to play the guitar I got a reputation And everybody knows my name I was born to play the guitar People, I got blues running through my veins Women in Chicago They love me to the bone But my love for my guitar keep me far away from home I got a reputation Oh, everybody knows my name, yeah I was born to play my guitar I got the blues running through my veins I got six strings loaded On my bad machine Show me the money And I'll make this damn thing scream I'm gonna keep on playing And on my dying day A polka-dot guitar will be resting on my grave I got this young reputation And everybody know my name "Buddy Guy, that is" You know I was born to play this here guitar I got the blues running through my veins
Great man! My wife and I seen him a couple of years ago in Long Island New York, he did the song Skin Deep the audience was predominately white, half way into the song you could tell there was not a dry eye in the place. Great Man, Great Player,Great Person.
I was at the record store looking for something new, in my hand I had a cd of the new David Gilmore , when I notice a Buddy Guy Vinyl LP behind the counter and it called Living Proof! I bought it and took it home slap it on the record player and wow! Buddy Guy! I went back and bought the cd!
thats great.. just no bullshit there you go saw buddy in Byron Bay 2006... burnt into my soul .. one of the greatest and most soulful individual performances ive ever had the honour to witness.. god bless you Buddy
I still Remember where I Met B.G. in Chicago outside his club chicago outside his club legends about 3 blocks away from the Congress Inn hotel where we were staying and I was out on Tour working for Elvin Bishop at the time I got into an argument with B.G. tech to move the car out of the way so we could get in B.G. himself came out and diffused it. Buddy Guy is a very cool individual as a person and pretty level headed. That was one of the most magical rooms I've ever heard blues players playing I actually have a picture of myself there on his with E.B. Old Red Bone 345.. I see where Elvin goy some of his showmanship from when he plays fishing goes out into the crowd. But he doeent do it quite Like Buddy Guy who spends time out in the crowd up closes and personal. Buddy Guy is a Great Showman This is My personal opinion but many others probably agree with me too. Last time I saw Buddy Guy I was up at the Russian River in California. He did a great job then wow
I saw him last week with Quinn Sullivan. They were both AMAZING and if you get the opportunity to see them live DO IT! You'll see why he's a legend and Quinn will be as well one day.

I was born in Louisiana
And at the age of two
My momma told my papa
"Our little boy's got the blues"
I grew up real fast
And I've traveled very far
One damn thing's for sure
I was born to play the guitar
I got a reputation
And everybody knows my name
I was born to play the guitar
People, I got blues running through my veins
Women in Chicago
They love me to the bone
But my love for my guitar keep me far away from home
I got a reputation
Oh, everybody knows my name, yeah
I was born to play my guitar
I got the blues running through my veins
I got six strings loaded
On my bad machine
Show me the money
And I'll make this damn thing scream
I'm gonna keep on playing
And on my dying day
A polka-dot guitar will be resting on my grave
I got this young reputation
And everybody know my name
"Buddy Guy, that is"
You know I was born to play this here guitar
I got the blues running through my veins
THANK YOU MR.BUDDY GUY
