I'm sitting here with my GH-600 in my lap and wondering if I should've made the decision to get Buddy's guitar first. Probably better now that Gary's moved on from LTD's, but wait long enough and you'll get my money for a Buddy signature.

Saw Buddy live this past November, after the show he was hanging out and giving out picks to people. I got to stand about 5 feet from him and while he looked me dead in my eyes, i hollered “Love you Buddy.” One of the highlights of my life. He’s truly so humble, most people would’ve just walked off stage after the last song. He changed a lot of people’s life just that one night, mine included.

I just wanted to let you know Buddy, I think and feel that you really don't get the honors and real appreciation that you truly deserve.
I saw tonight the video of you and hendrix on stage together.
I heard you really getting down, but I also looked into hendrix eyes as he watched you playing your guitar, and just like me ,he was in awe of your musical abilities.
I still say that if there was no Buddy Guy,there wouldn't really be the hendrix we know about today. I haven't listened to you in a while, I lost my mother and my father and other things I've been going through, but that doesn't change the fact that you are a true living legend and I want to thank you for all of the great music that you gifted this world with.
Thank you sir. It is a true honor to be able to witness you alive and well still getting down on that guitar.
God bless you brother. You are deeply appreciated.

There has never been so much music as today. So many young are playing the Blues (or any other music from jazz to classical) that in the old days their were alot but not so many like now. There are so many new blues musicians these days that in the early days, you would have to have ten of each to equal the amount today. Im 64, and I just bought a Yamaha sv-200 electric violin from Sweetwater (of course, most of my equipment and instruments are from sweetwater!) , and I have never played violin before. Im getting good. I'm retired, so I play all day long. Thank you, Sweetwater, for having everything i need. I started playing guitar last year in April '23. I started playing keyboards in early 1990's. I have an awesome studio that most people couldn't have a personal professional studio in the old days. Im starting my own music company, and my first act I'm going to record is the great Blues artist Joe Cumbo from Buffalo NY area. He sings and plays harmonicas, and at 67, he is going to start a new career in music because I got my studio. Is 64 too old to have a career in music. No! Im retired, and Im going to use my new recording studio to help promote local musicians. I stink at playing, but i can make an awesome recording. Talking about my violin, I have to call Cameron at Sweetwater to send my some violin string!

My favorite Buddy Guy moment was a day concert at SugarBowl Ski Area in July 2004 or 2005. Buddy was on the bill with Los Lobos headlining. It was a beautiful day. The stage was set up at the base of Mt. Disney, in a meadow. The concert was a fund raiser for the SugarBowl Ski Academy. The package included a BBQ and picnic tables were set off to on side. All the band members had lunch with us, and they didn't sit together. They spread out and we had the chance to meet them and talk with them; it was very mellow. There was another band from Chicago on the bill whose name I can't remember but they were fantastic. Blues fusion New Orleans funk-just spectacular. Buddy was great. He came out into the meadow playing and talking to people. My wife started dancing as he came near us, and Buddy loved it. She could boogie! The jam at the end with 16 amazing musicians was epic. One of the top five concerts of my life, and by far the best scene ever!

Just so you know I enjoyed knowing your brother Sam Guy.. ...
Sure do hope you will be coming home to play before too long.

I hope he’s doing all right, he recently had to cancel is appearance at the Vancouver jazz festival a few days before he was about to perform. But seeing this video has been hopeful.

To be such a legend, such a player, such an artist, you gotta be an incredible human being, too. What a gentle soul. What a sweet temper. But when it comes the time, what a fierce guitarist, and what a superb singer, by the way, too...
If only we could have Buddy with us for as long as 90 more years, please...

The stories are as good as his music, & i think that makes both better understood. He is a wise man, great player.

How old ? Good heavens many praises bluesman. Simply can't top this act ! I've seen buddy every time he played Toads Place in New Haven CT. During the 80's and 90's he would always play the blues with such soul his sound was so tremendous my left eye always jumped. Met him back stage have a couple signatures chatted with him, he was so approachable and genuine. I was walking through the woods is my favorite record favorite song ummm. What kind of woman is this. Yeah ! Sweet Guy. Thanks for always being there brah, musically that is cause all I had to do was put one of your records on and the a glimmer would appear in the dark. Amen to that. Good on you...

I can remember going down to the checkerboard lounge on a Sunday night back in the early 80s and Buddy Guy was playing. Before the show I was sitting at the bar with Buddy and there was only three people in the place and I asked buddy are you still going on and he said as long as you and those three people are here and I will definitely go on and he did. He played for about 3 hours. Eventually maybe 10 more people came in during the night but that was it. But he never ever disappointed. I was so glad when he decided to get out of the ghetto and open up Legends on Wabash. It was the best move he ever made. Right before he opened Legends he played an acoustic show with Junior Wells had Grant Park and I was back there talking to him and he was so excited about his new club. He told me he was going to put out the word and have all his Rock Star buddies come down and play and try to bring some attention to the place. And he did. God bless you buddy. You are always a great friend to me. 🙋

God bless you Buddy. You are a wonderful man with a good soul. Love your stories of the blues and your goal of keeping it alive. Blues will never die, it’s ingrained in the fabric of our lives and will go on forever, thank you.
