I love how wonderfully intuitive the FL5 is, it has just about everything youd want to monitor right up on the screen for you. Watching those ECTs creep up got my anxiety going though. Honda may have improved cooling on the FL5 but I think its marginal..
You should try the A050 next track day mate. They’re definitely the better choice if you wanna do some PB time attacks 👍. Great track day. I can see you’re satisfied even though the alignment weren’t the best.
@@GridZilla A052 is also another great 200TW track tyre, they’ve been around for sometime. Ive used A052 right to 10-20% thread wear left and they still hold.. RE71rs is also very good based on other reviews. Although i have never used them, but i believe dry grip, the A052 is a tad better everywhere based on lap times. Other cheaper alternatives are AR1s albeit rather slower times (1 second +), if you’re just doing hot laps and not PBs.
When I said “wrong gear” those weren’t miss shifts. What I meant was I was either in too low a gear or too high a gear for ultimate efficiency around a given part of the track.
You were flying, brother. Well done. Now I gotta figure out how to cool my FL5 for next year's track season...
Thanks! Not a ton of cooking parts available yet but PWR race spec radiator and that new HEL oil cooler will help a bunch.
Congratulations my dude! Next year for sure I will definitely be there! The track looks fun, can’t wait!
Thank you!

Cooling wise it’s a better starting point than the FK8 for sure but it will need some of the same hep to keep things under control
Incredible lap time! Nice setup!
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Good stuff my man! Love it! Took my 24 ITS to Watkins Glenn and it did well. With your bunk booty set up on there 😂
🤣 That might make it onto a shirt at some point lol
I was there watching you bro looks so sick man
Thank you!
The same RX8 spun in session 1 at 10:37 and session 2 at 15:11.
Yeah I noticed that too afterwards lol

A052? If I stick with 200TW I’ll go with RE71RS next. Those are the new Time attack king.

@@upbeatmantis86 I used all those tires before… except RE71RS but I have a set ready to go for my Supra so we’ll see
@@GridZilla Aight mate. Looking forward to see your next track-day video 👍..
Nice! Eddy did a sub 40 on almost stock power car I think he only making 330whp on his fk8 the repaved track is def fast
Eddy who?
@@GridZilla Ed seagul
All the fk8 went sub 40
@@fkhothatchi it’s our time to shine!
@@fkhothatchi Ohhhhh Eddy driver of the Acuity Instruments FK8 yeah that thing is nicely put together.
FK8 gearing would work better for track and racing. It is shorter final drive.
Maybe what do you think?
It’s track dependent honestly. Shorter tracks I can see the gearing in the FK8 being better
excellent stuff! saw the temps cooking a little bit (oil 300F water 240s). any cooling upgrades in the future?
For sure. Already have the PWR race spec radiator which is doing a lot on its own but I need a good oil cooler
What would be your idea set up on alignment ?
For me? I’d probably go -3 front and -2.5 rear to start and make adjustments from there
Do you think your time just drastically improved because you became a better driver? Or do you think its all the car that is the real factor?
Bit of both
stock power?
Definitely not. Approx 420whp

👊🏽
Short shifters are a hindrance rather than a benefit. All those mishifts probably wouldn't have happened on the stock shifter
