- Does the D60 still take awesome portraits? YES! I'm using 4 lenses to show just how capable it is for portraits, especially if you're on a tight budget OR if you got this as a gift. I believe that it's still an awesome, and fun, camera to use! Are you still using your D60? Comment below and let me know if you're still using it for portraits, sports or anything else!

I still enjoy shooting the D60 and like the colors from the CCD sensor. It’s not fast but amazing quality for such a small, light camera. I keep the Nikon 18-55 VR on it and carry in my day bag.
100%. I was pretty surprised when I first used it. Amazing quality for it's age. Thanks for watching and sharing your experiences with the D60.
I hope you still got it, because I still shoot and love mine!
I recently bought the camera. I can't wait to shoot with it. I love the posing of the model
Thanks! It's a fun camera to learn with!
I just bought a D60 yesterday from FB Marketplace, from a local person who buys storage shed contents. The D60 was in the shed with other nice merchandise. He accepted $60 for it with its original 18-55mm autofocus lens. He didn't have a charged battery for it so I bought it without knowing if it actually works, but I'm very optimistic as its in great cosmetic shape and have a charger and a couple batteries ordered. My other camera is a Kodak AZ-521. Both of these cameras have a nice small handy feel to them. I love your female model and the sharp colorful pictures you and your D60 & lenses produced!
Thanks! Hope you have your D60 up and running with a good battery in it. It's still a solid camera. Love how simple it is and the image quality still holds up VERY well, especially the colors you get with it.
@@BoostLeekdMedia I just put in new battery, took my first pic and got a shutter count of 10,249. I'm good to go, thanks for your response!
Tje D60 is my first dslr camera and I still use it. I only don’t know much about lenses so I think I often use the wrong lens. 🙈
Its is my first digital camera and I still use it up to this day..I had other cameras like the D300,D700 and the D7100 yet I still go back and use my D60 coz it's still a very good camera and I love the color rendition,I had its shutter replaced when it stopped at 42 thousand shots, and now I can have another 50K shutter count again..
Nice! Glad to know another D60 is still being used! I totally agree about the color rendition. It's pretty good! Everytime I use it, I really enjoy the colors from the images.
After reading the comment section, I love how D60 is our first DSLR camera ❤
It's great to know how many folks started with the Nikon D60 and still use it today, too!
I just purchased one used this morning. I am looking forward to making use of it.
Hope you enjoy it! It's such a nice camera to use and learn from!
@@BoostLeekdMedia I am Indeed on the learning curve...
@@inthewoodswithbigfoot3941 it has an SD card?
Amazing shoot I have a D50 D60 D70 D80 D90 and a D3200 and love them all.
Thank you i will buy mine today
Wow, thanks!! I bought this camera for a while now and have no idea about this hehe, glad I came upon this.
haha, nice and thanks for watching! It's still a nice one!
I have the D100, D5200, and the D60. I keep hearing talk about how awful the D60 is from those who see the age of it, but have never used one. I'm working on a comparison video of the D60 to the Canon Rebel T3; and I was considering even a comparison video to the other two Nikons I have. Of the three Nikons I have in my bag, my go to is definitely the D60 for its ease and simplicity.
Even a Pentax K1000 or a Nikon FM2 was great when a good lens was used. The best thing about the D60 is that it can be scored for under $100!
I find myself just grabbing the D60 too. 100% agree that it's such a simple camera to use. You have some fun cameras too!
Your just awesome. You use these vintage dslr and they produce good images💯😍
Glad you like them! Thanks!
Hey, it's not vintage dslr 🤣🤣
About pics 1
-i'm agree with you 👌
Actually just bought my first DSLR camera which is Nikon D60
Hello! My dad is lending me this camera to take cosplay pictures at conventions. I was wondering which lense you would suggest for a type of setting indoors with lots of people in the background and not very good lighting? Should I get an external flash also? And would those big umbrella looking lightings things be good for indoors? Thank you so much!! :)
Depending on your budget, the Sigma 17-50 F/2.8 or the Tamron 17-50 2.8 would be ideal for Cosplay images at Conventions because the focal length is very versatile. An external flash or a hotshoe flash is what I'd recommend over the umbrella lights because it's going to be a pain to carry that umbrella setup around. Hope this helps!
Wow great pics man!
Thanks!
I have Nikon D60 but got broken accidentaly. I still have it the flash were the only one got broken.
Add some AI and AI-S glass to your collection, they blow the G series out of the water. The 85 1.8G is impressive and the only G I own.
I REALLY need to look into the AI and AI-S glasses. It's pretty crazy how much cheaper they are now. Plus, there's just something about the manual lenses that makes you really focus on photography itself...at least for me.
@@BoostLeekdMedia It does, it's like being more intimate with shooting.
Regarding the ancient glass lol, I have two 50 1.2 AI-S. One from the early 80s and the other 2000s. The former is a lot warmer than the latter. I gravitate shooting with the older because it has more personality. The images I get with the newer gives you the impression of, 'Oh-kay, that looks interesting.'
So I just recently bought this camera for just basic product photography for my shop. I am completely new to all of use, I am used to taking photos off my phone but was time to upgrade.
Came across this camera for the price & everything included it was a deal.
Would anybody mind assisting me with what you think are the best settings for taking pictures of products. I was playing around with the camera, looking up video's but I honestly have no idea what anybody is talking about some dude was mentioning like aperture(Not even sure If that is the correct word haha), shooting photos at a 6.3?
Haha any help would be awesome. Until then gonna keep trying videos haha
I would say, the best way to learn is to keep playing with your camera. With product photography, you can use the camera's flash to make sure the product is fully detailed. I'm not sure what products you are photographing but the D60 is very capable of capturing products.
The settings REALLY vary BUT if you're just taking photographs inside, just make sure you are using the camera's flash. I would also take a look into 'Light Tent' or 'Light box' depending on what kind of products you're taking images of. Lighting is pretty important for product photography. So I would start at lighting techniques and for now, just understand the flash and camera settings on your camera. I hope this helps.
Hi! So I have this cam for like 2 years now but haven't got to explore it. Do you have a video tutorial about the Nikon D60 cam? Thanks in advanced
Unfortunately, I don't right now. But the best way to learn how to use it is to practice with it using different modes; program, shutter, aperture and manual modes. There '?' in the menu does help with the autofocus questions you may have too. Again, the best way to learn the camera is to use it, on a weekly basis. With a lot of practice, you can get use to it pretty quickly!
@@BoostLeekdMedia thank you! 💕
can you please do another series of this?
Yep!
Tipazo total
Hello,
Thanks for making this video. I have a D60 with 2 lenses the 18-55mm and the 55-200mm. Are these any good for product photos? If not, what’s a good recommendation? I’m not very well-versed with photography but hoping to get a few Amazon like product photos(white background). I would appreciate it if you could give me some pointers :)
Thank you
With product photos, you'll need a lot of light. So, having an external flash would really help. There are a lot of 'budget' friendly external flashes. I would suggest getting the Nikon SB600 to start out with :D.
As for the lenses, those are great for product shots but if you want more detailed shots, you will have to get a Macro lens like the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G lens. That lens would be excellent for product shots. Hopefully your products are not too big. Macro lenses like the 40mm F/2.8G is excellent for product photography. But, if that is out of your budget, the 18-55 will be good, especially if you have an external flash.
Question, Which lense would you suggest for product photography?
The Tamron 45 1.8 would be excellent for product photography.
55 and 85 has good results
hello, do you think this camera can be use to make nice quality videos or just good videos? like short films or so? nice video and thanks
Hey, the Nikon D60 does not have any video recording capabilities. The D600 has video recording but not the much older Nikon D60. I hope this helps.
@@BoostLeekdMedia okey, it help me. Thanks for your answer
I also shot with nikon d60 + 50mm 1.8 N. So please give us tips to adjust colours and settings
You can adjust colors in Photoshop or editing programs. As for settings, it really depends what you're photographing. If you're doing portrait photography, put it on Aperture mode and put it to F/1.8, especially if you have a lot of light to work with.
@@BoostLeekdMedia ok, thanks 😊
Hello.👋 What is the best lense among the 4? Please give me a tips😊
I LOVE using the Tamron 45mm 1.8. If you're doing portrait photography, put it in 'Aperture' mode and put it at F/1.8. Have fun!
Can yongnuo 50mm 1.8 compatible with nikon D60?
Yes, it is :D The Yongnuo 50mm 1.8 will autofocus on the Nikon D60.
@@BoostLeekdMedia nice!Thank you So Much!☺️🥺
I have this camera and I'm very much an amateur. I mostly want to take pictures of my kids. I'd like a wider angle lense with Auto Focus to catch the scenery. Which of these would be best? I know that the 35 shoots like a 50mm right? I'm having trouble finding an affordable 24mm. 😐 Am I getting that right?
Yes. I would suggest looking at the Sigma 17-50 2.8. Unfortunately, there isn't a 24mm lens that will autofocus with the D60 that's in the price range of the 35mm 1.8G DX.
hi 👋 there wher this video shot taken ? nice 👍 lens camera shot
Minnesota 👍
Do you keep it in auto mode of what adjustments do you have the camera in during this video?
Hey Adriana, the 'Exif' i show during the pictures are my camera settings. I hope this helps. I am not in auto mode, I am in manual mode. Hope this helps.
What are the best settings to have on the d60 for a beginner?
It REALLY depends on how much light you're working with. Check out this video (th-cam.com/video/na4vUJc3PDo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BoostLeekdMedia) to see my D3100 settings, which is close to what you should do for portraits.
Is the 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6g lens okay to use for portrait photography? I’m having a hard time finding settings that work with this lens
It's good but it is definitely very limited in terms of getting certain portrait shots you'd like. Depending on your budget, I would highly suggest any of the lenses I used in this video. The 'cheapest' lens in this video is the Nikon 35mm F/1.8G DX. If you can find a used one thats in good condition for under $150... trust me, it's totally worth it!
Yo, which is better? The canon 1100d or nikon d60?
"better" just depends on the user. BUT, the 1100d does have more features compared to the D60. If you want video recording capabilities, the 1100d is your choice. Photography wise, it just depends on the user. Both systems are great to learn with.
Try a D50 with a 60mm 2.8
It's the only DSLR I have...
Hey, it's still a neat DSLR! Hope you're enjoying it! Good to know there's another D60 still out there getting used :)
I still using my d60. Almost my phots it's take on her. Ig @alanzuka
Nice!! I'll give ya a follow!
Actually just bought my first DSLR camera which is Nikon D60
What lens would you recommend out of the lenses?
Personally, I still love the 50mm 1.8G. I'm on my 3rd one because I sold my last 2. Never selling this one now, haha.
@@BoostLeekdMedia thanks for the reply. Im using an old d60 which my aunt gave me and im looking for newer lenses.
