I have the 511 tactical pants, the 511 coverts pans for casual wear and I love the Tru Spec 24x7 pants. I am very glad to see the new colors. I'm a tall guy and these fit perfect. Great video, getting the word out! Thanks Bryan!
Hey Bryan, thanks for showing these off. I had my eyes on em for a while cause they are available even in bear size (me xD) but I hadn`t seen anyone that I trust review them so far. Gonna buy a pair now :D
Thanks for this video. I'll check them out. Outdoor clothing can get expensive for good gear. This is the time of year folks should look at winter gear on sale. Buying clothing off-season can save you a ton of cash. At least we didn't see any plumbers butt in this video ;0) Thanks again Bryan.
I decided to try a pair.....decent sales available if patient and look a bit. I like them for warmer weather wear over my 5.11's. The main features that will keep me buying these....the cell phone pockets and the small pockets for flash light and knife. Out of the way, no pressure point on the hip area. Seem to be well thought out. Thanks for the review, it made the sale.
Oh boy, I wish I would have known. I was in Marietta not terribly long ago, I certainly would have checked out that store. If I ever go back I will tell Lou that you sent me to come on down all the way from Alberta, Canada. :)
Gonna have to order a pair of those. Suggest your friend at the Army Navy Discount Center to open an online store. Went to his webpage, was very basic. Good review Bryan, thanks.
Brian, they do look great. I started using the LA Police tactical pants, and wear them almost everyday. I purchased five different colors. They have similar qualities to the Tru-Spec, but the La Police pants are twenty bucks including delivery. Chris at prepared mind 101 got me hooked on them. Before them, I wore Walmart cargo pants. That will not happen again, I hope. I am not dissing your video at all, just pointing out a very good quality alternative for old retired people like me who live on social security. Thank you for all the video's you do. I enjoy them very much.
+Robert31352 I plan to get some of them to compare. I am sure they are great pants because I trust Chris. I know these are not cheap but they really are my favorite pants ever.
man I love this channel when I started watching youtube and looking at reviews and bushcraft videos this was the first channel I subbed to I ended up starting my youtube account so I could lol your an honest man and entertaining as all get out you and reallybigmonkey have got to be my favorite bushcrafters on yt thanks for being cool and making these videos for our education and entertainment. by the way does the skunk have a name lmao
Hey Brian, I have the both the pants and the 9"shorts 24/7 poly/cot blend too! I'm hooked!!.. All though, in our Maytag washer. I have to "deepwash" wash them, if not they come out with a residue on them. Might be because of the treatment on them!? Highly recommend them...
I'm a fan of the 24-7 pants and shorts. I wear them almost exclusively (unless I'm kayaking). I'll have to try the Ascents. I like the bigger accessory pockets. Are they thinner than the 24-7s? If so, they would be cooler for those of us in the upcoming 100 days of hell (as my son who works at Lowe's calls it) we Georgians face from here on out-lol. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the review I bought a pair to give a try, they look awesome it will be nice to stow my phone and pocket knife in their own pockets for a change from my jeans 👍
Brian, you should check out the LA Police Gear Tactical pants or their urban op pants. Chris over at PM101 did a review on them. They are a great alternative at a fraction of the price. $22 for the Tac and $20 for the op.
These look like excellent pants. I'll have to see if I can find them here on Vancouver Island in Canada. I don't know which company is guilty but somebody copied someone which is par for the course in the clothing industry. These pants & the 5.11 Stryke pant are almost identical.
Thank for detail and objection review, i know this video is 5yrs ago but i would like to ask you if this is still your favorite pants or something else took the spot? Thanks again!
They have jumped in and out of #1 a few times. They are still very comfy but the leg openings seem to have shrunk just a little. The newer ones I bought are a little snugger on my ankle med kit.
I now have eight pair of these 24/7 pants six in coyote and two in I believe it's called sand color. All of these have been modified/alterations done too them to fit my particular needs. I have zippers installed on both legs that run from the knee down to the bottom hem. That alteration works perfect to 'quickly' slip over prosthetic legs. Or pull up and then put the legs on. If you know someone in the factory or if your local guy does, have them ask the question? Can they make the two main pockets 'Deeper' so my wallet and Droid II phone don't stick up outside the pockets. If they can, I buy eight more pair in both colors. The very best feature of these pants is the stretchy waistband. Today I'm 36 and 1/2, tomorrow I can be 36 even. It makes a HUGH difference but these pants can handle it. NO PROBLEMS. Check with the guy and see if he can hook me up. If he can I'll make him some purple widgets or in toxic green (his choice). You can never have enought widgets, You Know? Thanks SOS!
+Mooky Mann I hear what your saying B, I was thinking Tru-Spec was an innovative company. I sometimes get 'Made in the USA' and 'As Seen on TV' switched around. At least, the as seen on tv stuff works a time or two. I was thinking you might have a hook at the factory since their down around your area. Adding two inches to the front pockets would keep your stuff from flopping out every other time you sat down and that would make the pant snazzy and practical. I have a real hard time finding gear that's made in the USA and practical together. I just thought one of them might see this comment and implement this change in Rev. B. but maybe Not? And people complain about the Chinese stuff, Go Figure! lol. Thanks for replying though Brian that's one aspect of this channel that makes it great.
I wear the tru-spec 24/7s everyday and the little pocket just below the cargo pocket is where I carry my iPhone 5 (not wanting a giant phone) and it is snug but I don't worry about it falling out. Is there any sort of closure on the pocket where you had you phone on the ascent pants?
+Lazy Moose nope but I have carried my phone in these for almost a year, including camping, and I still have my phone I wouldn't carry it there during high adventure activities. But, realistically, I agree with Chris Tanner. We tend to focus so heavily on wilderness stuff when, for most of us, that is at best 5% of our activities. I wear these daily and they really are my favorites pants ever
+Survival On Purpose hahaha yeah I haven't been doing much woods running the past couple years. However I was concerned about my couch lounging and not having to look for my phone on the cushions.
+Survival On Purpose I think they may be the same people as the place on Highway 5. It's like a army/navy place on one side of the road and a huge tactical store on the other. It's not really worth the drive down for you but if your ever working on that side of town and have some time to kill go check it out. God knows I've put their kids though college.
+Survival On Purpose ive been watching for a long time and you opened my eyes the greatness of thrunite and Schrade. keep it up this is a great channel
one problém i always had with pants like these was that stuff fell out of my pockets when i did handstands and such, i wouldnt trust a single one sided velcro on those big pockets
+GraymanTactics Nah, just being real. BTW, I was picking up a package today at the UPS store and there was a woman who had to be in her 60s getting fingerprinted for a CCW permit. It made my day.
That is not correct. In fact, the UltiClip is designed to clip to your pants and I’ve been wearing mine for going on 4 years now with no issues. Check out the. HAWG Holsters videos on this channel.
I have the 511 tactical pants, the 511 coverts pans for casual wear and I love the Tru Spec 24x7 pants. I am very glad to see the new colors. I'm a tall guy and these fit perfect. Great video, getting the word out! Thanks Bryan!
I have one pair of 5.11s but these are my favorites.
Just picked up a pair of the Classic version. Really nice. Thanks for making me aware of Tru Spec!
They are excellent pants, whichever version you like.
Hey Bryan, thanks for showing these off. I had my eyes on em for a while cause they are available even in bear size (me xD) but I hadn`t seen anyone that I trust review them so far. Gonna buy a pair now :D
+German Survivalist (Dante Briefs) I think you will like them. They are very comfortable.
Thanks Brian! Just found a great new option for mandatory black work pants!!
+Josh Lloyd They are comfy.
Thanks for the review ! Honestly, I wish more people would do reviews of pants, shirts, jackets etc.
+Dwane Thomas I hope it helps.
Look like awesome pants. Just ordered a pair. Love my Tilley hat too. Thanks Bryan.

+Scott Hill I have been accused of being a fake because I didn't have a plumbers butt.
I see you are wearing the Kore belt. I have had mine for a couple months now and love it. Like the britches too. Thanks for the vid.
+golfnutinga1069 I wear it always

Gonna have to order a pair of those. Suggest your friend at the Army Navy Discount Center to open an online store. Went to his webpage, was very basic. Good review Bryan, thanks.
+RDLaw88 yeah, They are pretty old school. Buying kind of like that. You call them and they will ship to you.
Ok, thanks Bryan.

lol
Thanks for sharing. They look like nice pants.
+ronnie b prospecting My favorites.
I have a pair of the original tru-spec 24/7 pants and I LOVE them. like them more than my 511's
+Bradley Birmingham Me too.
Great review, thank you. You have me sold, will be getting =)
+Nate Youngman I predict you'll like them.

Just bought a pair on Amazon. 2 day delivery. Great fit.
Indeed.
Great review as always!! Be sure and check out the LA Police Gear pants for $22.00 each they are hard to beat.
+Guns and Gear Network I plan to try some but Tru-Spec has set the bar pretty high for me.
Rectangular or rounded pockets? Rectangular is better for pocket holsters (for me anyway).
Brian, you should check out the LA Police Gear Tactical pants or their urban op pants. Chris over at PM101 did a review on them. They are a great alternative at a fraction of the price. $22 for the Tac and $20 for the op.
+Dwight Kalezra I might get some and try them out. Maybe do a comparison of several brands.
+Survival On Purpose The LA police gear pants are a winner. You can get the field pants for under $20 bucks.
How do they fit? I wear a 38 inch class a pant for work. I’m interested in getting a pair or two for when off duty
I have some true spec pants I love them .So much more comfortable than jeans
+Bill Ruber I agree
These look like excellent pants. I'll have to see if I can find them here on Vancouver Island in Canada. I don't know which company is guilty but somebody copied someone which is par for the course in the clothing industry. These pants & the 5.11 Stryke pant are almost identical.

Nice may have to check them out .......do they dry fast when they get wet ?
+DpKxREVO pretty fast.
I never thought I would ever say this but... nice pants.
+cyclist01222 Do they make my butt look big?
Survival On Purpose
Yes, so choose black next time... it's slimming.
Will the ascent be too large for a small figure?
I think there worth the price! I get mine in Indy at a surplus shop for $45 a per..
+hoobilly 65 good deal
How durable are these pants? I work as a laborer and work on the back of a trash truck slinging trash. Thanks !
Mine have been through the wringer. They are stained but not torn

+Folkway Lodge good choice
Mr Brian is the man with the pants, the tactical pants lol
+Captain Kiwi I generally wear pants.
+Survival On Purpose it's good to be back
this might be the pair i have, but they dont have a knife pocket, but it does have the phone pocket like that.
Gonna start EDC'ing a pistol and spare mags, concealed carry. (constitutional carry) no permits for me, tyvm!
Georgia may be getting close to Constitutional Carry. The good thing about having a permit anyway is it offers you reciprocity with many other states.
great vids !
You get them for $59 here : tacticalgear.com/24-7-series-ascent-tactical-pants-ranger-green

Sizes max out at 44X34. Bummer. I need 48x32. Sucks they don't have larger sizes for us portly guys.

Are those ranger green and coyote? Or olive drab and khaki?
yes
@@SurvivalOnPurpose ranger green and coyote? Cheers m8
@@SurvivalOnPurpose about to order bro, this was coyote and ranger green?
I’m a plumber in Phoenix , how are these in the heat my brother?
They do pretty well for me. and it is humid here in Georgia.
Personally I do not like the boy scout pants I have had the seam tear. Those look like them and if they are the same price I would rather have those.
+Nathan Wloszek-Therens They are close to the same price and much better in my opinion.
Nice
They are.
is it sad that the Survival On Purpose theme song gets stuck in my head and hum it at work?

Sometimes you need to climb a tree and youre upsidedown and losing a phone from that place is not a good thing :)
+magicshon You climb trees upside down? Are you a Wizard?
My name is magicshon for a reason.. no actually you dont stay upside down the entire time xD but your legs surely are upside down often
Heck yeah those pants are awesome but when you look up the definition of tactical you soon realize it is overplayed LOL
Nice undys
do you have a favorite for tactical shorts?
"Tacticall Shorts" ?
Shorts are these things us city folk wear sometimes especially when it is hot
Man you made this video just to piss off that guy from the sling video.
