I never thought I would experience a real lockdown, until 2 kids from my school, last week, passed away from a shooting that occurred down the street from the school. The passing was a result of an argument between them and teenagers in car, who also attended my school. They were only 14 and 15 years old. A 3rd kid remains in the hospital. I have been.... I was with a friend tho.
They came into the same bathroom as me and my friend. we hid in the stall standing on the toilet so they could not see are feet. They then slammed all the doors open and then gave up on the 2nd to last door. (The last one was the one my friend and I where in)
He walked away and started hitting doors and walls as he screamed, before running out of the school.
No one was hurt, but I have bad PTSD from it.

Me during 6th grade which was 3 years ago
*(True story) One time I was walking down the hallway when the lights turned off and I saw teachers locking their doors, it took me a second but I realized that we were in lockdown, I quickly bolted down the hallway to the exit as we were informed to do if we were locked in the hallway, I ran straight down to the church across the street and found the nearest adult and told them about the situation, they were trying to Calm me down and tell me that’s it’s ok. It took about 15 minutes for the police to arrive. And The next day we were all called to a school assembly and the police informed us that the man was armed with a pistol and had just robbed the dollar general next to the school. No one was hurt in the incident luckily. The police apparently apprehended the man the next week and the dude is currently serving 8 years in jail. It was a truly terrifying experience.*
we had to go on lockdown and had like 15 cops come bc three dudes came to the school with guns they were a students brother and ig the student got bullied or whatever, it was that wig snatching girl or whatever
A few weeks ago, I was walking to my bus stop to get home from work, it was about 8pm and someone who was walking by just stopped and stared at me in a mean look, he didn't look away and just stared at me, it was freaky asf.

Lockdowns are getting scarier and scarier, like I remember being in gym and our teacher told us what to do!! An announcement came on that there was an active shooter in hall J, and at first we all stood there confused, and my teacher shouted to run, run and get outside as fast as possible!!

The creepy part is that almost all schools have the same lockdown protocol,meaning if someone figures one protocol out then they figure them all out,I honestly hope they change this one day
Honestly, what other protocols CAN be made? And escape door? Coming out the windows ? A panic room that is bullet proof maybe would work
The common protocol is used for a reason, and that's because it generally works. The intruder probably knows exactly how the school will respond, but that doesn't really give them a leg up in the situation.

The teachers and the faculty heard gunshots outside, thankfully the man never went in the building we were all scared, but it turns out these two people were hunting squirrels sooo yeah my story isn’t that interesting.

I remember two months ago when a lockdown happened, I and everyone else in 2nd period was in the left near corner to the door as we were less visible. I was muffling my cries as I was terrified since it's been a while since I've been in one ( this is my first year in mid ) my elementary friend from 3rd grade and a male I barely talk to that often helped calm me down a bit. I still don't know what the hell happened yet I'm glad we were all safe, everyone in the school was okay.
If any other lockdowns happen I'll try to put them in the replies of this because for me, lockdowns are really strange. Stay safe out there!

I just realized if a lock down happens at my school my class is doomed
1. In our class we have some of the most loudest screamers
2. There is no where to find there is two doors to our class and our hiding spot is so small
For the first story: They should have never called the front office. Also, if you are in this situation, do not pick up the classroom phone during the lockdown either. The front office can identify which classroom phone was on the other line, letting the intruder know if there’s anyone in that room (given the circumstances that they are in the front office).
Edit: don’t even bother responding if there’s someone asking to come in the classroom after the doors have been shut. Students are usually instructed to go to bathrooms, or other available areas to stay out of the open during drills, in the case that they do not make it to a classroom.

I once had a lockdown when I was in 2nd grade when that was happening I was in gym with other people in my class also my gym teacher was outside the school there was a person with a gun and he shot my gym teacher when the lockdown ended my teacher plus everyone was crying I had to write a letter just like everyone everyone cried except for me I was crying a little til this day I remember that happend
The first story teller who was a teacher was very hard themselves, I think they handled the situation well and kept their students safe by not letting the suspicious person in who was knocking on their door in.
No, they actually made two very serious mistakes. Calling the office and talking to the person in the hall both alert someone that there are people in the room which could get them all killed.
I always was so confident when I was younger saying “I’ll always use my sharpest pencil to fight the shooter off” and now I’m quite scared if this happened in real life

Just this week our campus sent out this message to all it's students and staff:
"... CAMPUS lockdown! All entry doors are locked. Increase your awareness. Run, hide, or fight if appropriate. Additional info from police will follow ASAP."
Of course with no context, everyone assumed it was another shooting (we just had that Boulder one not too long ago after all). Searching for info on it online yielded no results until I looked at the twitter feed (using the campus as the keyword) and saw messages with people just as confused. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. After about 40 minutes it was confirmed that it was a stabbing that happened at one of the light rail stations on campus. We don't know what happened to the victim but at least the suspect was caught.
That vague message is truly something and made the situation that much worse.

I remember in my freshman year, we were put in lockdown in are first period class because a student posted on there snap the other day that here gonna bring a gun to school and someone reported to the office/teachers. Which lead them to call the cops. The cops searched everyone’s locker and gratefully, the person that said “they were gonna bring a gun” didn’t bring it. After 3-4 hours of being in lockdown, they let us go and told us we could go home or stay at the school and continue the day. And the parents were already informed about what was going on so my dad and I found each other but we didn’t know where my brother was, so I went searching for him and gratefully we found him and went home. 2 days later, it’s a Monday and I was terrified on going back there. And to this day, I’m terrified every time that I go to school

I remember I was at school and I was in 4th grade. I went to a charter school so it was a small school so there were only about 100 students. We had to go on a real lockdown one day because there was a man who was in the area with a gun on him. Tbh it was terrifying, but luckily no one was killed or injured. We were in lockdown for the whole day though.
Edit: and to this day I still remember it like yesterday, and I am now heading to 7th grade
People can repeat stories and it'll get old but with Mr.Nightmare, it never gets old

I feel for these people so much. It’s hard to explain to someone who never experienced it but the sheer terror of seeing a person with a gun in front of you is life changing. These people will never be the same
One of the things that my old middle school used to have as a rule was that we couldn’t put on our hoodie, like have it over our heads unless it was really cold or it was raining especially when it was raining.
Some were annoyed by the rule but it was a very good rule when you really think about it because if someone suspicious gets into campus, they won’t know about the rule, so they will be spotted immediately.

Mine was a women that had a gun she had a fight with her son and tried to shoot him. We heard screaming then shooting and then my school went into lockdown for 2 hours and we heard banging on are door then screaming from a boy.
