    RIP Ed Ray. You saved those kids lives. Parole shouldn't have been an option for the kidnappers. That level of planning and forethought shows a complete, callous lack of care for human life. I hope Michael also knows he too was a hero. He could have panicked with the other children, but he stayed calm and stepped up. That's not exactly easy for a teen.

      What’s even more atrocious is that the Texas government is supposedly “mourning with the families” as if they aren’t directly responsible for lax amounts of legislation that don’t necessitate necessary training and checkups/ proper registration procedures for gun ownership and thus promote, and have been promoting putting more and more guns into the hands of unstable individuals, and haven’t done anything in the past thirty years to prevent, only to increase gun violence in their state, and will continue to do so despite any instance of mass shootings.
      Also it’s not the world. Gun violence/ school shootings happen in the U.S. far more often than any other country by REALLY REALLY FAR. As in other countries actually sometimes have single digits per year, while the U.S. never does by a WIDE Margin.
      Here’s an example. School shootings so far in 2022 go as follows.
      Europe = 3 (2 in France. 1 in Germany).
      Mexico, the highest other than the U.S. = 8 shootings.
      The United States= 288 SHOOTINGS.
      Yeah, the uniqueness of gun violence and culture in America as shown and promoted by the Texas government isn’t even disputable.

    My family is actually really good friends with Mike Marshall's Parents. I use to help them take care of their horses. I've met Mike a few times, (he's in his 60s now) and he's a really soft spoken guy who loves rodeo and his dog he named Blue. When I met him I didn't actually know what happened to him until about 2 years after meeting him and my parents just mentioned it when he came up in our conversation. It was pretty shocking to find out that this quiet guy, helped save all those kids on that bus even though he was just a kid himself. Mike's sister, Kandice recommended a book to me written by two of the detectives on the case, its called "Kidnapped! At Chowchilla" she said that it gave the most accurate account of the story. Anyway, really glad you covered this story, even though it happened more than 40 years ago it still has lasting effects on all the children who are adults now. I kinda had a similar thing that happened to me back in college, it was 6-7pm on a Wednesday and that was the last day of that school year (of all days) so my classmates had their casual clothes on--I still had my uniform for which I was made fun of. It was only 5 of us left in the van (not a bus) when 3 men came inside. Immediately, we felt fear coursing through our veins. One of them sat beside the driver, the other blocked the only exit and one of them started pointing guns at us.
    I was in the last seat on the last row and started to pray for my and my classmates' safety.
    The man who had a gun started collecting wallets and phones with his pistol in hand, and when it was my turn, he said "Just ignore the student and let's go.", and they all left. We all received calls from the School the next day, asking about the incident, and they all sent us to counseling which helped alleviate the trauma.
    Sadly, our driver never recuperated from it, despite kind words from everyone in our school, he kept blaming himself for not 'securing enough that the doors were locked'. He fell into depression and started doing 'bad habits'.

    For the first story, I think I heard that the people who kidnapped the kids and bus driver tried calling the police for the ransom money, however they couldn’t get anyone because the lines were busy by the parents calling the police to search for their missing children.

      Yeah, I remember reading that these dudes had tried to call the police to make their ransom demands, but were blocked by the lines being busy; so they decided to get some sleep and call when they woke up. However by the time that they’d woken up, they were dismayed to discover that their victims had already escaped, so that’s when they went on the run.

    This reminds me of the time in 2012 in 7th grade, we came back from jogging 🏃‍♀️ and we enter a McDonald’s for lunch. Next thing I remember I see kids with their teachers lining up together. With was December and that day was when the sandy hook shooting happened. I’ll never forget the sudden sense of dread and loss of words for those lost loved ones. Now here in San Antonio TX, I just came back from dropping my girlfriend, I’m 23 and graduating this summer with a BA in psychology at UTSA only to met with the news that a shooting at Uvalde TX brings me those emotions I felt 10 years. Just moments away from turning into my elementary school, a gentleman in a car fell asleep at the wheel and side-swiped the bus I was riding in. Unfortunately, I don't believe the man was wearing a seatbelt nor his airbag released. His head slammed into his windshield, and he passed away.
    Multiple injuries were sustained among fellow students on the bus as well, including a broken leg. I myself was sent to the hospital due to a sideways whiplash that still gives me issues to this day. This must have been 20 years ago now. I will never forget the sight of the bloody cracked windshield or the lifeless body of the man inside. Sad day.

Compared to the rest of these, that's a walk in the park lol.

I forget what she said or did, but I remember the driver got out of his seat and stood in front of the girl and yelled at her. She stared down at her school book. The driver grabbed the book from her and tore a page out. The girl started crying. I told my mom what happened and told her I didn’t want to ride that bus anymore. My mom didn’t believe me. Love your videos man, I just am absolutley sickened about what happened at the school in Texas, again.........to young innocent children. It is like sandy hook over again 10 years later...just so very sad I truly hope and wish for the best for everyone affected by that.
