OMG....what a route and views. Looking out for part 2. 15Kg including 4 litres of water is a good manageable load on those hills especially without readily available water sources. Thank you so much for sharing your time and video, and make sure you watch the BP. Cheers, Helen
I did that walk two years back, along the border ridge. I think this is probably my favourite day out in the Cheviots. Stunning scenery. People that don't hike up there don't know what they're missing. In July this year I did Easter tor, Wester tor, Hare law. Incredibly windy this year. Thank You for sharing, much appreciated by this Norfolk girl
Hi and thanks for coming along again then ! Yes it’s a great spot, the Border ridge really shows the Beauty of the scenery well, I could not pitch on Hare law on my second night it was so windy, it’s a long way to come for your trips but worth it if you like the quiet and wilds of the Cheviots. Cheers
Great start to your walk Adrian, the clarity of the air up on the ridge really showed the extent of the Cheviots, wonderful views. I'll have to get up the Schill sometime, love a craggy summit.
Hi Dave, thanks for watching, surprised you missed this one, Shame about the wind on the last night, these days I would have stayed on the top as I am more comfortable with the Tarp set ups Cheers Adrian
@@northumberlandmountainhopper I’ve got a 3x3 tarp that I’ve never used so I’m going to have a try of different configurations to see if I can do something with more space for all of the ‘stuff’ that I carry on a camp
Excellent as always Adrian. You know how to pick the weather. I was on Crossfell North Pennines last night but bailed as the winds were 48 mph dropped down to the bothy Gregs Hut but it was chocka block so walked back to the van. I love it up there ATB Nick.
Hi and thanks for coming along, yes I could hardly stand up last night so I too had to drop down, I don’t even have a tent to take that wind !!! But I was lucky with the sunshine Cheers Adrian
Perfect Sunday viewing Adrian, I know that route well. Great set up with tarp & bivvy, it’s certainly giving me inspiration to get mine out! Big walk that, well done, really looking fwd to part 2. Cheers, Dave 👍
So extremely well done. Thank you for sharing about your blood pressure challenges. Keep entertaining us with your inimitable style in the outdoors. JMO.
It's great learning from you. I'll try to keep using my lightweight MLD bivvy with tarp instead of the goretex and no tarp for when only light rain is expected
Another great location and set up Adrian , I’m heading out tonight but a tent job as rain forecast in morning 😂 I find my bag heavier when tarp and bivi camping than when I just pack a tent 🤷♂️
Hi Dave, thanks for coming along, really enjoyed this one, tarp and bivy for me is 850gr using the tarp s including guys etc In the winter it’s heavier using the army bivy, Enjoy your camp Beers Adrian
Such beautiful vista views...seems one could explore there forever! Wonderful stuff! Bruce and Otis
Hi and thanks for coming along, you could explore the Cheviots alone for years, it’s so remote, never mind anywhere else !
Cheers
Gorgeous! It's videos like this that has seen my pocket money being spent on gear. I have a very basic set up and just can't wait to get out there!
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the camp, it’s addictive when you start, thanks for all your comments
