Hi David, it was windy on Hedgehope when we went up on this walk. It is a fairly tough walk with some boggy sections. The views from Hedgehope are really good. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. ( Are you any relation to Gary & Karen Wilkinson?) Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Thank You, The Cheviots are a great place to get away from it all! We had a great day with some great views! Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.
Once again another fantastic video. I have done that walk more times than I can remember and you have captured it perfectly. Mind you, not wanting to take anything from your professional production, you certainly couldn't ask for a better backdrop. Fantastic scenery and long may the madding crowds keep away from it! We are so lucky to live in this fantastic area of England.
Hi John. Thanks. It is the first time we have done this route. I have been up to The Cheviot going up the usual route through the valley bottom, and been up to Hedgehope from the Ingram side via Linhope Spout, but not done them both together until we did this route. We had a great day with superb views and hardly saw anyone all day. The Cheviots are a great place to get away from it all and you are right, we are so lucky to have this on our door step! Thanks again John for watching & for the kind comments, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Thanks. The Cheviot Hills in Northumberland has some great walks and great views. Even in the middle of August we hardly saw anyone all day! A great place to go, to get away from it all! Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
We had a cracking day, you are right, it was quite a work out, but worth it for the views! Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care, Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Peter, it was a great day and the heather on the side of the hills gave it an extra bit of colour. You are right about the wind, it was quite blustery and there wasn't many places sheltered from the wind to take a break. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Great video Eddie of Northumberlands highest. Grand views from all the cairns especially Auchope which is a fine viewpoint. You passed close to The Vickers Warwick crash site, you can actually see a piece of wreckage at 12.14 in the left of the pic. The main site is right of the path just past that post you pass at 12.05, well worth another visit if your up that way again. Enjoyed tagging along. Take care. Mick.
Thanks Mick. I forgot all about the crash sites when we were up there, I borrowed a book a while ago from a mate and had been reading about the various crash sites in Northumberland, just completely forgot about it. I have seen the piece of wreckage in the clip you mentioned, never noticed it on the day! We had a great day and will be up in the Cheviots again soon. Thanks for watching & commenting Mick, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
This looked a superb walk Eddie. Iv'e never been over the Cheviots so I really enjoyed watching this video very much. Lovely scenery and nice weather what more could you want. Excellent. Thanks for posting. Keep on smiling David
Thanks David. The Cheviots are a great place for solitude and to get away from it all. We hardly saw anyone all day. It was a great walk and we are already planning our next walk in the Cheviots. We are planning to head back over to the Lakes in Sept when the school holidays are finished. Thanks again for watching & for the kind comments. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
@@eddiecaisley5746 I was thinking of going up next week as the weather is looking good. I'm in a quandary between your 2019 video walks of The Langdale Pikes and Yewbarrow/Red Pike/Pillar or the Great End walk you did recently. All look great walks. Yewbarrow looks a bit of a slog getting up ha ha. Oh by the way Eddie have you any Great Gable video walks? I was wondering what would be a good circuit but not Napes Needle as that looks a bit scary to me. Cheers David
@@davidburgess9058 Hi David. The walks you mentioned are all great and it is a hard choice to pick one. I would say the Great End walk we did recently would be a good choice as the walk up the valley is superb and the views from Great End are fantastic. The Langdale Pikes would also be good, but it is still the holiday season and I think it will be busy. Yewbarrow is quite tricky to get up and involves a bit of scrambling. We did Great Gable from Honister back in 2016, but did not video the walk. It is a good route going over Grey Knotts, Brandreth & Green Gable. Whatever you decide to do, I am sure you will have a great day. Take care & Best Wishes. Eddie.
@@eddiecaisley5746 Thanks for that Eddie. I believe Yewbarrow is a bit tricky but that video of yours is so good I just feel I have to do it. Will look to do Great End next week. Cheers and enjoy your weekend.
What no lake-district lol...................great camera work as usual Eddie, an under-rated hiking area i'd suggest(all the better for that, less people)...........wonderful views throughout, cracking expansive landscape. You both put some work in there mind, cracking walk Eddie.............ATB....Stu.....👍👌

Hi, you are certainly right there, it was quite steep heading up Hedgehope, but well worth it for the views. Great views heading back down from The Cheviot looking towards the coast and over Northumberland. We had a great day and are planning more walks in the Cheviots. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Eddie, we were only there about a month ago but we hiked through the valley to the top of the Cheviot, which we didn't enjoy so much! You guys definitely went the better way, enjoyed following you on this one! Cheers, Simon👍
Hi Simon, wish I had known you were in the area, I would have popped out and said hello! I have been to The Cheviot with the route you took along the valley bottom, so I know what that's like, that is why we did the route in this video. That was some going, especially with all the ups and downs, canny day for it as well, not too hot. I was going to ring you to see if you fancy doing something up in Northumberland next week but it looks like you have done it all. Great views all around and despite it being the school holidays, it looks completely deserted, apart from the Cheviot summit. I remember going over that fence and into Scotland when I was at Windy Gyle 3 years ago - one on the none windiest places I have ever been too, perfect conditions. Cheers Alan
Hi Alan, we had a cracking day and hardly seen anyone the whole day. It was a bit boggy in places, but nothing too bad.
