@@rickywilliams1586 Not to mention wolf dogs were owned by Mushers due to the fact they were strong enough to survive harsh climate and temperatures in places like Alaska.
@@CynderSpirit It would make more sense that Aleu was adopted but turned out to be too much. She'd play too rough, wouldn't listen to orders, and was just destructive. This resulting in her going on a journey to see where she belongs. Would have made more sense.

It looks like the father so it must have the Wolf's traits whereas if it looks like the mother then it has the mothers traits. This was also done in Lady and the Tramp II: Scamps Adventure. Though in that case all the puppies that were female looked like the mother. Not one poor puppy to get confused for a female by look like it's mother.

Well gotta give Balto this , he wasn't reduced to being constantly milked for sequels like the land before time and Alpha and Omega .

There originally was to be a movie for each of his pups, kinda glad they gave up at two.
Those Alpha and Omega sequels seriously make Balto 2 look like a Studio Ghibli movie by comparison.

She died years before this film was released, showing it was in production for a while.
Not only that, but because of her death, she couldn’t sing Blame Canada at the Oscars. Who did they get? Robin Williams, who died the same way she did.

@@DarthRushy We know that Balto 2 and The Lion King 2 have similar concepts. Both Aleu and Kiara are headstrong, defiant daughters of the main protagonist (Balto and Simba respectively).
IKR? As someone who watched Simba’s Pride a lot as a kid, I always thought Wolf Quest was very similar and was pretty sad when Alu went with the wolves instead. Yeah the story is a jumbled mess and is so poorly written in so many areas, but I always wished we got to learn more about Balto’s wolf heritage or why Alu was accepted as a leader of a random pack of wolves

Even back as a kid I could tell this movie was weird. The animation was way worse than in the prequel and it was just really hard trying to make sense of anything that was happening.

his review is biased because he doesn't seem to take in native American beliefs such as the spirit animals including those stories of the trickster in this case represented by the fox though that depiction might be a bit of fan service drawing the fox the way they did. He also misses the point of the whole mouse scene.

It definitely isn't the American Indian stuff I'm mocking at least a teensy bit, however. But, speaking of this subject, I tend to get a lot more out of (regarding American Indian lore and cultures, etc.) certain movies like "Against a Crooked Sky", "Dances With Wolves", "Thunderheart", etc.
What I'm mocking, is the feminism... (Not in the movie, but from...) But my laughter only goes so far in this regard, to be perfectly honest.

Same, my standards are relatively low but I feel they've judged it a bit to harshly. It's a good story on it's own, although it can't compare to Balto.
This is exactly like the Avatar: The Last Airbender vs Legend of Korra situation. The spinoff would've been a great show on it's own, if it hadn't been chained to it's incomparable predecessor.

This is my favorite childhood movie, and Alu was my first crush. I was really so much into "find yoursslf" and "you're more wolf than a dog". I still think the movie is so much deeper than just "adventure road for kids".
I always loved Aleu too, I found her relatable in certain ways.
Also loved how her voice actor was the same one who voiced Eliza Thornberry (Lacey Chabert)

I loved this movie as much as the first one! The mysticism always lured me in, also Lacey chabert is an amazing voice actress. Really like Mark hamill in this too
Aleu not only doesn't look more like a wolf than Balto, she looks more like a husky than Jenna. Wolves don't even carry the gene for blue eyes.
(That said, the ending gets me every time.)
Wolves also don't carry the marking/pattern genes aleu has. Those are husky markings, and the wiki cleary says that aleu is ¼ wolf, and ¾ husky. Making her more husky then wolf. And I hate her so much.
