Lauren F. That’s a little extreme.
I get the sneaking suspicion Doug is starting to have more fun doing the commercials than the actual episodes these days.
Doesn't he always do that though?@@Dinossword
Well considering that those commerials actually pay him, I say he really does.
Eric Bower Nostalgia Critic is very popular and the channel has to follow the brand even if it was hard for others to do so. Also, what do you mean by he’s more sour towards movies nowadays?
2:15 Wow, I did not expect a Wolf's Rain reference. You're surprisingly well-versed in obscure anime.
He talked about it before in his saddest moments rankings so I kind of figured it would pop up eventually.
I... didn't know Wolf's Rain is considered obscure.
@@bolbyballinger He also considers that and Cowboy Bebop to be one of his favorite shows of all time.
@@jmalmsten It was a hype train back when it came out but it just absolutely vanished from much of the public consciousness over time.
This could’ve been a decent movie if it wasn’t forcefully attached to ‘Balto’ u can tell someone wanted to tell an actual story in it. I loved this movie as a kid. This review had me dying laughing.
Same, my standards are relatively low but I feel they've judged it a bit to harshly. It's a good story on it's own, although it can't compare to Balto.
This is exactly like the Avatar: The Last Airbender vs Legend of Korra situation. The spinoff would've been a great show on it's own, if it hadn't been chained to it's incomparable predecessor.
I'm legit curious to see Critic's thoughts on Balto 3. Personally, I think the third film is actually better than the second.
can we just have doug just do 50% of the youtube ads ?
id honestly never skip again I always look forward to his sponsor segments now
I like all the rees coming from him lately
5:11 I can answer that question: much like the late 90s, the early 2000s had a lot of moments where fisheye lenses seemed to rule the world, and I guess the animators couldn't think of a reason why they shouldn't be included in one of their products.
Ever think of doing a review on All Dogs goes to Heaven 2? Just curious
Yes! I’ve been waiting for him to notice that one or the American tail sequels
He should review the Mighty Ducks movies
@@AndreNitroX He actually did Fievel Goes West last year.
CrowTR0bot yeah... in the middle of the not so awesome controversy. I can never finish any reviews around that time. I don’t know why.
@@CrowTR0botthat's nice and all but I preferred the ones with the cat monster mystery and the indian girl.
Just because he mentioned Wolf's Rain and said it was an interesting anime, is why this video gets a like
I'm one of the few people who likes this sequel.
Balto 3 wasn't that bad either.
I've never seen number 3, is it good?
@@Twinklethefox9022 It's not too bad, in fact as the title suggests, it deals with change, and being replaced by machines.
Very timely for today as well.
Yes, reviewing Balto II, hope you review some of the Land Before Time sequels.
It doesn’t matter, Critic has reviewed movies that other reviewers have done. It’s all about if he make the review fun and get jokes out of it.
That'd be awesome
Yes atleast the earlier ones were good ones
@@AndreNitroX I actually grew up with #3 on VHS alongside all the Disney classics and such... I watched it all the time til I turned maybe 8 or 9 and realized it wasn't the first movie in a series. Then I watched the first one, expecting something just as... happy... :'-(
He probably won't touch them. More so because they are beloved movies and that he probably can't get much jokes/content from them
This is my favorite childhood movie, and Alu was my first crush. I was really so much into "find yoursslf" and "you're more wolf than a dog". I still think the movie is so much deeper than just "adventure road for kids".
I always loved Aleu too, I found her relatable in certain ways.
Also loved how her voice actor was the same one who voiced Eliza Thornberry (Lacey Chabert)

2:17 well now you got me thinking this is an Americanized version of Wolf's Rain.
Which actually sounds better.
I haven't even seen Wolf's Rain and only having a vague idea of what it's about it still sounds better.
Wolf's Rain is also my favorite Zelda game
Bizzarely this actually predates Wolf's Rain yet uses a similar font. Also Okami used a similar font for it's English release.
Ron M you need to see Wolf’s Rain!
Ron M Wolf’s Rain is a classic anime! But the dub and sub are superb!
“Express VPN” is a weird way of pronouncing “Stamps.com”
Oh my god that commercial was one of the funniest ones I've ever seen! I died laughing when he jumped into the ceiling and made that sound lol. Doug's acting was hilarious!
"As true as the true story of Bohemian RhapsodPSSSH!-"
Queen fans: 😐
Some of us Queen fans didn't like BoRhap, It's an inaccurate, poorly directed mess only kind of saved by the acting
It was the remaining members of the band that ruined it by insisting it's more family friendly and have nothing controversial that might affect their legacy.
I mean-
That was probably the most by the numbers biopic I've ever seen. It was almost a parody.
I liked it, it was fun
3:50 I guess Ariel's deal backfired and now, she turned into a wolf.
Jesus, Doug. You killed it in this review. Even your ad was hilarious.
Fun Fact: Jodi Benson and Mark Hamill were also together in another direct-to-video movie two years before, were Jodi voiced Asenath and Mark voiced Judah, the eldest brother in DreamWorks's Joseph: King of Dreams.
You do such a good Lacey Chabert impersonation I actually thought that was her in the bear scene
I loved this movie as much as the first one! The mysticism always lured me in, also Lacey chabert is an amazing voice actress. Really like Mark hamill in this too
That "Secret of Nimh" joke had me rolling lol.
Damn!!! Did you just reference Wolf’s Rain!! I’m so happy! I never took you as that kind of watcher.
I believe he mentioned in his top 20 favorite TV Shows that it ties with Cowboy Bebop for his favorite anime of all time.
He did- and does!
“That kind” 😅. He loves anime. He even reviewed every Ghibli movie (well the Disney dubbed ones at least). Unless that’s not what your referring to.
@@travis_redfern6771 No he doesn't! Sure he has some anime he likes but he isn't a fan of it in general.
He saw all of Avatar, which everyone knows is the gateway to anime next to Toonami
Oh man this movie was literally 90 percent of my childhood and I somehow totally forgot the nostalgia is EXPLOSIVE
I know that feeling.
18:34 I can’t believe critic didn’t make a joke with this
Well since you mentioned the 3rd movie (never knew they even made it, barely remembered them making the 2nd) you are now FORCED to make a review of "Balto 3: Wings of Change" -Everybody
Wow, I thought i was the only one who remembers Wolf's Rain!
Nope I remember Wolf's Rain..
STRAY! STRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.
The creepy aflack duck voice was hilarious. Imagine if someone read that without watching the video, they’d be like “my god edibles are strong!”

THE THIRD ONE, HOWEVER
Same here.
Christ, I don't even remember what the 3rd one is about...
Brian Humerez it's about the freakin goose
Endlessocean8 The Third One, However, was even better than the original.

What's scaring me most is how spot on your impression of Aleu is!
14:21 I feel a disturbance in the force, as if millions of Star Wars fans cried out in anger, and continued to do so for another 5 years.
Here is a radical idea maybe if the movie didn't fucking suck people wouldn't be complaining about it

No one:
Absolutely no one:
Litteraly no person ever:
Universal: BALTO 2 WOLF QUEST
I mean, I wanted it, but not like this. Some movies improve with sequels, like Madagascar, but this? Yeah no one asked for this.
And the quest doesn't even end. It's just, "OK bye bye. Me and my friends are gonna ride this sheet of ice and maybe find the caribou I magically envisioned!"
Unlike the existence of this sequel, Doug launching himself through the ceiling was something we never asked for but never knew we really needed in our lives.
I'm not sure David Carradine knew he was voicing an animated wolf.
He was just recorded speaking while sitting in his living room.
4:15 - 4:20 Balto: "Oh sure, honey, but uh, did you forget how I saved *your* girl, and several other children from diphtheria? Do you know the kind of PTSD that an avalance does to a dog?! I think I've earned 40 winks!"
I know Doug's not much of an anime guy, but major kudos for the Wolf's Rain shout out.
