@@PNWEnduro I agree 100% I've gone riding with guys in the past that it seemed like they were in a Very big hurry and it kinda takes some of the fun out of it, especially if you have beginners with you cause often times taking breaks is a great time to ask questions and get great advice from more experienced riders. Keep up the great work. I think I've watched this video about a dozen times today lol
Now that’s a tour guide! Linking trails with backcountry exploring and off piste! My guess is only Mountain goats and dirt bikers maintain that “trail”
If you go to Ouray Colorado you can go up into the jeep trails and see scenery like that, Black bear pass, Imogene pass, gets up to a little over 13k feet at the top, Engineer pass all way up in the mountains
Impressive scenery and marmots... Wish this kind of high elevation stuff was accessible near me in Australia. Always makes me envious watching the scenic terrain you're riding!
@@viperracing2889 Based on the scenery there had to be mammoths back in the day. I’m referring to the Marmot a very large ground squirrel Greg referred to in the video.
You'd be surprised how far you can go on a trials bike. If you look close his bike has an auxiliary fuel tank on the forks. Our old bikes hold 0.85 gallons and can go 15-22ish miles depending on terrain. That 4 stroke Montessa probably does better on fuel than our 2 strokes. I carry an additional 3-4 liters in my backpack. Most newer bikes hold less fuel in the quest to make them lighter, my new TRS XTrack actually holds a little over a gallon though.
Yo Marmot / Sure too bad how cameras naturally flatten the topography, I can relate. Not a fan of chunky loose rock & tight curves on my heavier Honda 4 str kickstarter but at 64 I`d still do about 80% of this, maybe more. Good riding!
Marmot! Hello. I'm new to your channel and love your vids! This one in particular peaked my interest when I saw what your "guide" was riding. Do you race? I haven't seen anything other than your single track vids as this is what I like. I currently have a Beta 300 XT AND an EVO 300 with a long range seat/tank combo. To me, if a person is NOT interested in speed but these hard trails, wouldn't the trials bike be the best option? Is there anyway you can put me in touch with your guide so I can ask him questions? I'm debating selling my XT but am afraid of making a mistake as its a wonderful bike for the trails. Thanks in advance Keep up the good vids! BTW I'm in Wyoming, not far from Jackson Hole with BIG mountain trails if you ever get this direction....look me up. Given the vids I've seen you'll like it in my part of the country.
It's been a year, I'm curious what you decided? I've only ever ridden trials bikes, I've never had much desire to lug around big heavy dirt bikes in technical terrain, the only downside is fuel capacity, but there's various ways around that, like your eat/tank combo. I am considering a Beta XTrainer, mainly so I can plate it and ride forest roads and some light trails, I'm curious how you like/liked the bike compared to your Evo.
Thanks for the great video of the state I called home for 30 years! Those dang "Marmots" are everywhere in them mountains. How many did you chase on the dirt roads? We never tried to but they would run out in front of us and made it look like we we're chasing em haha!
Marmot. Huh, never heard of such a thing. Looks like our ground hogs, little fat things. I like the 20+ min videos, I could watch trails like that all day. Would be even better if I could ride them.
They are very similar. Marmots live in the mountainous regions of the western US where Groundhogs usually live east of the rocky mountains. Thanks for watching the whole video!
Marmont - epic ride - thanks
Sounds like a pretty rad group of guys. No hurrying, take your time, always supporting each other. Keep up the awesome videos
Thanks. No need to rush when we get to see amazing places like this one!

Did you guys see that Marmot? Amazing trails and scenery! Maybe one day I’ll get a chance to ride out there!
A mammoth? Wouldn't surprise me, judging by that scenery. 😅

Awesome video Greg!
I love riding in the high country.
Forgot the marmot!
Marmot, the views and the riding look awesome. Hopefully I’ll get to ride something like that someday.
Nothing beats this kind of riding, I absolutely love it.
Great looking trails. Nice seeing a trials out there too he’s probably packing fuel in every compartment he can. marmot
+1. Half an hour on a trials bike feels like 3 on a regular bike.
My bike burn 1L per hour. 2 in the stock tank…3 in the number plate tank….2 in my pack
looks like Revy area super sick. Oh yea and the Marmots are crazy
Dang what a place! Thanks.
Marmot neck
Looks like your local buddy is on some kind of geared up hybrid trials bike? Looks light and nimble but the guy has to stand the entire time
Montesa trials bike
Very nice picture. So clear. Really jealous of the ride. Some Skydio footage would of been epic.
Marmot lol 😆 amazing video
Marmot. Looked awesome
Marmots , the more the merrier lol

Marmot ,increadable views boys,very jealous.
Awesome marmot! A long video from you is always good news!
Very nice still no rain here on the island. I am going threw with drawls. Havent been on the pegs since early July
marmot. Spectacular ride! Surprised your buddy rides all that on a trials bike! Does her carry a lot of fuel? What size Sherco are you riding?
Yes he did carry fuel, I don't know how much it was though. I'm on a 300SE.

Man I love watching your rides and seeing the views. I'm assuming this is in B.C.?
Marmot, I have always called those whistle pigs, great video, it could have been 30-40 minutes long and I would have watched it all
@Terry Wilson, thanks! Wait until you see day 2! Marmots are my favorite animal.

Nice life Dude
Where is this in the Rocky Mtns?
Where exactly is this ride at?
Marmot, was this in Colorado Or Idaho
Sick!
Marmot. Apologies if I missed it, but would you mind sharing what the name of the trail is that you rode. I would love to try it sometime

Which mountain is this?
what was the elevation?
See video description.
Elevation between 7-8000'.
