  • This trail is in the Fairfield Ranger District of the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. We were unfamiliar with anything in the area and rolled the dice on trail selection. The Willow Creek trail also known as the Idaho Centennial Trail is designated as multi use. However, it is more a hiking trail than anything else. There are numerous rock obstacles that are too treacherous to risk blasting over. One in particular would send you down the hillside into the creek with no escape route if you missed.
We struggled for hours trying to reach the junction of trail 031 but were thwarted by fallen trees. We finally turned around. It was one of the toughest rides I have done. The ride hero award would have to go to my son Travis.

At roughly the 12 minute mark and going over the rock obstacle (which looks tough, especially with the steep hill on the right), use the front tire technique. Which basically one guy is standing to the side control the bike via handle bars, second guy is in front of the front wheel and using his hands grab the front tire and turn it, making it into a two wheel drive dirt bike to get it over the obstacle. Used it many times and it’s very effective and probably uses the least amount of energy for both guys trying to man handle the bike.

We went right up that in 22, last year it was blown out and not rideable..
It really needs to be fixed especially for a blue trail

2T would have made it much easier.

You really shouldn't be advertising how man trees you tore up off trail to go around. People who go around and videos like these get more trails closed than views
