    This is a survival recipe I just started today. I’ve been in a lot of stomache pain from a bleeding ulcer. I could not keep any food in my stomach, Yet, this recipe saved me, brought me back to life. Vegetable broth with a pinch of Himalayan salt and chia seeds. Goodness this was a healthy option that helped me in my worst need.

      My dad and sister, when she was 6-y-old, both had bleeding ulsers. Dad was given an old Native Indian recipe and they both were cured!!! Make garlic tea. Keep refrigerated. Drink 1/4 cup 4 times a day for 2 weeks. The ulcers never returned for the remainder of dad's life, or my sister who is now 70!

    Chia jam
    2 cups fresh or thawed fruit
    1/4 cup chia seeds
    2-3 TBSP maple syrup or honey
    Put it in a blender and pulse until blended. I freeze it in ice cube trays and put into a bag in the freezer. Since they only last a few days in the fridge, I thaw out a few cubes at a time. (Sometimes I cheat and add chia seeds to my store bought jam)

    Thank you for this video. I am actually just about to try my chia seeds for the first time tomorrow morning in a breakfast smoothy. Similar to the one you showed. But mine will have chocolate protein powder, the frozen banana and almond milk, a bit of chocolate nibs, and some if my PB2 (powdered peanut butter). This is actually my first time both using chia seeds and making a smoothie, so I'll learn as I go.🙂

      That sounds great. You might like glucomannan too. It makes a fabulous gel and same deal: soak first. You can use it as thickener without the grit of chia. And you can make carb free, high fiber asian noodles (shirataki) which are very expensive to buy. Check out YT vids. My favorite for making asian noodles yourself is Keto Asian Flavors th-cam.com/channels/5-og6mdfD2TMM3uMZNyxrA.html

      Anything with 35 gr of carbohydrates and only 3 grams of protein as a meal replacement isn't a weight loss strategy. Those carbs are spiking insulin which will stuff your adipose tissues like a Thanksgiving turkey. This is why we're in a type 2 diabetes and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease epidemic.

    I always add chia to my salads. Also, one of my favorite breakfasts: Take a rice cake or slice of toasted bread. Spread peanut or almond butter, then drizzle some tahini and honey or agave nectar, and top it with chia seeds. Super filling.

    • @mackenzie579
      @mackenzie579 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      be careful with adding just straight up dry chia seeds to something like a salad, as they can expand in your esophagus if you drink water after eating them, which can cause a choking hazard if your not careful. My recommendation to adding them to salads is either making them into a crouton or crouton-like topping, put them into the dressing, or just sprinkle only a little bit on top after adding the dressing (like you see this lady do with her smoothie in the video). (Also, this is meant just as a cautionary , I am not in any way trying to put down the chia on salads idea nor do I mean any offense to anyone)((also like OC’s breakfast recipe, it sounds delicious))

      why do the chia seeds need to be ground up to make the chia egg for use in replacement of one egg?why do you have to mix it together?why do you need to put in the fridge?i already made some and didnt grind the chia seeds up and already put the water in and didnt put it in the fridge so do i have to make it again?

      @@SpaceAdmiral792t I have used chia without grinding ..infact before watching this video I have never ground them when I use them as an egg replacer. And as for putting in fridge..its just to keep it from spoiling..the milk that is.

    Chia seeds can be good for helping lower high blood pressure, since it has blood-thinning properties. But anyone with *low* blood pressure issues should avoid them! And, apparently, they cause gastrointestinal symptoms in some, may increase inflammation, and may not be good for some people with auto-immune issues, or who are immunocompromised. Not every “healthy” food is good for everyone. In short, as with anything else, research the cons first, add to diet in gradually increasing amounts, *then pay attention to how you feel.* That said, I’m trying them myself to avoid blood pressure pharmaceuticals and am very grateful for these i seas on how to incorporate them into my daily routine. Thanks! ❤️

      Drinking them in almost any fruit juice is how I've seen them consumed. Ofcoursee you could eat them but about 75% of my diet is liquid or juice. I was wary of putting them in but you have reassured me. Thank you

He loves it and this way he gets his protein in because he refuses to eat any kind of meat (which is not a bad thing right? 🙂)
