Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch Dragon Pokémon, defined as Pokémon that can learn Dragon Type Moves in FRLG (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4's ace (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on manual "Set" battle mode

I am actually in love with the idea of "Egg - Group" archetype runs.
Splitting Water type into Water type Egg groups definitely can make Water monotype interesting.
Just as long as you don't choose the field egg group. Which is a whole lot of pokemon

Aerodactyl is in the Dragon Egg Group. Arbok is instead.
Currently doing a ORAS run with the monster egg group.
The naming scheme is one direction against the rival who is the wanted. Wasn’t expecting that at all
And here was me expecting an Imagine Dragons reference.
Took me till the elite 4 to the Wanted reference 😂

Only in the first 2 minutes right now, but I have to say I really love how creative you get with coming up with backstories for your challenges and actually giving Pokémon personalities, it’s something that makes me actually feel bad when a Pokémon dies, or when it accomplishes something, it gets me excited. Awesome job as always!

Loved the flying type monolocke! Little confusing as to why Seadra was there, I assume just an HM user? Anyways, Lance must have been proud seeing all those flying types, he's also a flying type specialist himself so obviously he would appreciate that gesture

seadra is in the dragon egg group, and lance is a dragon type user, same way agatha is a ghost type user but all her pokemon are poison type

It's nice seeing my boys back together again, the fact that Zayn of all pokemon being the glue is a welcome surprise
I can’t believe I was literally like “hehe one direction” after he said it but completely missed that he named them all after 1D until an embarrassingly long time after Zayn arrived (around the “just how fast the night changes” reference)

Okay, so the Horsea that Niall murdered in cold blood would have survived if it had an HP IV of 23 or higher. Niall just knows how to weed out the weak, nothing wrong with that.
I love gengar's sprite in FR/LG, it's the only games where it actually looks menacing like it's ready to pull some bs tactics to make you as angry as possible lol I love it
GCS sprite is also great, so dark and with that sinister smirk!

I love your explanation behind including more Pokemon than just the Dragon types, reminds me a bit of the "X colour only" runs where you have to go by the Pokedex and not by what you see.

This was a great themed run, loved that it focused more on the Pokemon's aesthetic qualities rather than just purely on its type. The only thing that would have made this better is if you allowed Seadra to evolve into Kingdra at the end to let him reach his full dragon glory.
That requires trading and the National Dex though.
@@gaminggoddess85 Yeah I know, that's why I'm saying at the end once he's won. He's most likely playing on emulator so figured he did it this way to keep it as-legit-as possible, since he could remove the National Dex/trade requirement.
Just would have been a neat little, "Good job Seadra, here's a reward for pulling your weight" moment after all was said and done.

@@SashkaSedr A lot of people use the "Universal Pokemon Randomizer" and just set their pokemon to evolve at certain levels if it has a trade evolution. You can look up a TH-cam video on how to set it up.

Great run, thanks for bringing attention to this important issue. Perhaps you can give a shout out to Psychic Imposter Syndrome too. Pokemon like Butterfree, Porygon, Golduck, Spinda, Kecleon...they learn psychic moves but never get the recognition of psychic types.

Ya know, this team was effectively a Blackthorn team, since most of it's members are used by blackthorn trainers - makes you wonder what kind of teams you'd get if you made a team based on cities
A full Blackthorn team could include Dodrio because of that trade in Blackthorn City where the Dragon Tamer girl wants a female Dragonair and will give you her Dodrio for it.

Loving these animal/creature based nuzlockes. Lots of encounter variety, but still has limited choices.
I definitely recommend doing an egg-group based nuzlocke! They allow for a little more variety in your teams, so I find them more fun. I recently completed a dragon-egg run starting with trusty Treeko in gen 3.

In Japanese the word for dinosaur is Kyoryu, which translates roughly as "terrifying dragon".
According to the Japanese in general, dinosaurs are dragon :)

Just wanna say I would argue that Arbok and Lapris are dragons as well. Iris uses a Lapris multiple times in multiple different material ( and she is also a dragon master) and Arbok is in the Dragon Egg Group

Also, I like to imagine the trainer for this run works as a dragon therapist for pokemon with D.I.S
Arbok, slowbro, rhydon, Lapras, marowak, lickitung, nido’s, kangaskhan, venusaur, and blastoise lines feel like dragons too! I imagine any of the Pokémon that look like reptiles. Turtles are known as mud dragons.

Flygon, I know you typically level up to match the Champion’s ace before the E4, but have you considered starting at the 1st E4 member’s ace level and using rare candy between battles to match each member? I feel like it would make the earlier battles far more interesting since you wouldn’t just be over-leveled and sweeping everything.
I agree, or if you're gonna match the champion then don't heal between battles
