Thank you for sharing this. I work with a great bunch of ladies at my Church that make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. These quilts can be shipped all over the world or stay here in the USA. This looks like a fun project for our wonderful quilters. We take the tops, and sandwich them like you described, with batting and bottoms. Then we do the "tying method" with blanket thread that needs to be spread out every 6 inches. Not too fancy but made with love and care💗💗We make on average about 220 a year. 😊😊
JELLY Rolllsssss oh my take me back to when I didn't have a child scared of the sewing machine. I think this is great! I have so many jelly rolls and some charm packs. I miss sewing.
This is great. I love the colors and how the strips played out. I have been sewing for years and years and have only made baby quilts. I might have to give this a try, most likely when I retire. Thanks for showing us this method. 🤗💖
This is my mindful sewing project. When I need to process something in my life, this is my project I go to. I can just sew and iron, no planning required, not much thought is required.
This is a great easy project for those of us that Hand Piece our fabrics as well! I'll need to put this on my list to do! Thanks for sharing! I sew by hand and I'm always looking for easier quilt projects.
Thanks for showing this. I've never had success with a quilt, always ran out of patience with trying to put the small pieces together. I'm definitely going to try this one though, looks like something I could actually complete. Looking forward to seeing how to complete it with batting and backing
This was a wonderful video. I've helped my gammy make a strip quilt before but your method seems so much simpler. I'm super excited for the backing video 🙂
Well done hun , you certainly are a true crafter lol , you explained the jelly roll race quilt very well , keep up the good work with showing us how to do all sorts of crafts xx
My first Jelly Roll Race quilt ended up being a table runner for a very long table. I didn't know when to stop! I've since done a few more Jelly Roll Race quilts and those turned out great!
Thanks for the tutorial. I've never heard it called string piecing, just chain piecing because you end up with a long chain of pieces. Also, if you would like to have the seam less bulky you can join the pieced on a45° diagnosed by laying them in a "L" shape and sew from the top outside corner to the bottom inside corner. If you see two lines of parallel stitching and cut between them you will have a small half square triangle from joining the strips. That way no material is wasted.
You did very well and the filming is very clear. I love your accordian method as it eliminates the unevenness you can get by not pinning. What you might like to do with your extra long top is cut it in half, turn one half 180° and sew it together. The stripes will be vertical, but you would have a wide enough quilt.
Please please please show how to finish this!!! I have always wanted to try this, try to sew. Well now I'm off tomorrow morning to buy a sewing machine and jelly rolls!!! Thank you so so so much!!!
I am a beginner sewer. I don't understand when you get all of your strips together and then you say take the first strip and the last strip. I don't understand. We are the first and the last strip are.
I'm a little confused, but I may just need to watch a second time. One question is what size quilt are you making. I'll give my brain a rest and watch it again in a while. 🤪
Just not into this. I know you want to branch out and you will have lots of subscribers who like the sewing videos. I'll stick with the foodie ones and the crochet and the Happy Mail!
You're doing a great job
I learned a lot about organizing my jelly rolls from you, thanks Craig.
Great teacher
Thank you for this, again you’ve inspired me that I now want to use my neglected sewing machine.
Glad you chose to do this video, as it's always nice to see that something doesn't have to be super complicated. I always enjoy your videos.

Hi Craig....love your quilt. My sewing machine is in my closet....this place is too small to have it out. Your quilt is beautiful.
Love the idea.
I love it always wanted to make one
That is pretty amazing.
I made one of these many years ago so much fun to see how it comes out. Most of mine are not planned just done on the fly. Happy quilting 😃
I've got some jelly roll. But, I think it's only 1. This looks fun and frustrating. Can't wait to get another roll to do this.
Beautiful.
I've not seen this done before. This is really cool. I will have to try it.
That was so interesting. I had no idea that was how you would do this. Very clever. Looking forward to seeing how it's finished.
Very interesting
You make it look so easy! And the results are so pretty... ^_^
Great tutorial. I have used many Jelly Rolls but I have yet to make a race quilt out of them.
This was a fun video! Definitely going to give it a go. My last quilt was a cathedral window that took me several years to complete🤣
Love it
Craig you are so darn amazing…is there anything you can’t do? I love ya😊
