Thanks so much! You taught this 61 y/o lady something new with the Blind Hem AND the Furoshiki Bag! Looking forward to going to my local Hobby Lobby to purchase several different types of fabric to make these adorable and useful bags! Thanks so much Craig!! You have a great channel and I learn so much for all you share!

There's a lady from China who comes to our local laundromat with this same bag. She has a much larger square piece of fabic and carries her laundry in for washing. I even helped her with the refolding of the bag since she was finished there and she then placed her folded laundry in the bag. The tables there are not that large. Very clever. Ken

What a fun project. Oh my gosh blind stitching reminded me of my mother teaching me how to do this. I love hearing watching your instructions. When I'm working on something a bit challenging I hear your voice saying you can do it.🥰

I love your videos! Hand sewing is really relaxing to me although I haven't done it in a long time. Back in the 80's I sewed practically all of my clothes and hemmed everything by hand. You brought back good memories. ❤️

Great video back to the basics we used to learn that in home economics the bag is very handy on the fly that's a great skill to know thank you

As a seamstress of 45+ yrs, I'm delighted to see you doing this bag and instructions on doing a blind hem stitch by hand. I've always done blind hemming by hand. I've been unable to sew very much since my neck surgery last summer but hoping to get back to it very soon. I'm revamping my craft room to incorporate my yarn storage in there along with my sewing. I keep my yarn in clear plastic totes at the moment but planning to put some in my room using 14x14in wire square system. I'll keep a certain amount of each yarn in the room and as the squares empty I can refill them from the totes stored in my shed. My fabrics are stored in the bedroom at the north end of the upstairs. That and scrapbooking supplies are all that's in that room. Thanks Craig for this lovely idea

You may want to look into whether or not your sewing machine can comfortably and safely be tilted at a permanent angle to allow less neck strain. They don't recommend it with the high quality janome machines. I had to give it up entirely.

Just watched, and I'm going to make one! It's nice that you showed how to hem by hand because not everyone has a sewing machine. You are so right that the square knot makes for a nice tie. Once I learned it, I never went back to a regular overhand knot.

Having shorter legs and arms I learned the blind hem stitch for hemming my clothes so they fit better. It's much easier if one uses a smaller needle. The thinner the needle the easier it is to pick up fewer threads on the main material. Thanks for showing people how to do this stitch. I need to physically try the bag, I'm having trouble picturing how it works. Thanks Craig!

👏 Very nice job of teaching that hemming stitch! It can be a bit fiddly but it looks marvelous if you take your time and do it right. And love the bag! Thank you for showing us how to make it. I'm thinking bags like that would be a nice replacement for plastic bags when shlepping cans and boxes from a grocery store shopping trip. Bonus would be they would be less likely to burst open on the bottom or have a handle rip out as you carry things in them and they can be laundered when they get dirty!

love the easy way to make this bag - great for shopping trips or a knitting notions bag - thanks

Great tutorial! FYI IF you don't have matching thread then when you are finished sewing use a Sharpie permanent marker the same shade as your fabric and mark over your threads until they match the fabric. Doing costumes for a small theater group I did not always have the right colored thread on hand but I found out that the Sharpie markers do stay on the thread and you can also wash them with out losing the color. Also you can use them to color fabric if you accidentally get bleach on them.

Another tip would be if you don't have fabric. Find and old piece of clothing u don't wear and upcycle. I do alit of repair work for myself by hand stitching. But I learned a new way watching you Craig. Thank you.
