Maximum the Hormone is definitely a fun band that don't take themselves too serious. They also tend to switch things up in a single song. A couple of better songs to start with are either A.L.I.E.N. or Yoshu Fukushu 🤘😊🤘

This song is exceptional, it's just fun for the crowd. Watch any other song randomly and you will see and hear the real MtH 😂😂😂 they are heavy, crazy ... special. Expect the unexpected!

A few fun facts about Maximum the Hormone. Their song What's Up People is the season 2 opening song fir the anime Death Note and their song Zetsu Billy is the closing song for one of the later sessions. The drummer is the older sister of the guitarist. The bass player is heavily influenced by Flea. He plays the same bass and even has one of the same tattoos as Flea on his chest. They've been known to play jokes on their fans through songs and troll the music industry and haters though their songs. Definitely a lot of fun 🤘😁🤘

Also, both the drummer from Band-Maid and Nemophila were influenced by the Maximum the Hormone drummer.

Love MTH. They've been around quite a while. Many of their songs remind me of System of a Down. Hanabie was heavily influenced by them. Thanks for reacting to them.

New subscriber here. Came here for the Japanese band reactions and you've already reacted to some great bands! Here's another one to check out, try Unlucky Morpheus and the most recent live version of their song Black Pentagram! There are some nice shots of the drummer's kit! They're an independent band and every member have played with other great bands 🤘😊🤘

Love this band. Their tracks definitely are unpredictable and take you to extremes. My personal favorite is "Hungry Pride". I feel it has one of the heaviest driving riffs you will hear. I hope you take it into consideration for any future reactions.

No idea who suggested this as a 1st reaction but it is not a good starting point. YoshuFukushu is by FAR the best place to start. Plus remember Japanese bands do not play by the old stand by rules. They freely mix genres even within songs.

@@inthepitwithsteve for you it worked, have seen others say wtf and check out. When introducing a band it is better I believe to show something that more represents their sound. Once you get to know MtH the whole thing makes sense more than just being wtf. Example them teaching the crowd the dance on video before concerts (them dancing parts) a song about sperm etc..

I love this band. They do silly songs like this and alien. The real gems are their flat out rock songs that aren't trying to be a novelty. Check out "unbelievable" (no music video). Japanese title is Suwomintsu Hokereiro Mifueho

Bands that don't take themselves too seriously are great fun! MtH really is fun all along paired with some serious chops.
Another band in that vein - with a drummer singing - is Gacharic Spin. Exceptional musicianship and energy in abundance. Regular gotos are:
Mindset: th-cam.com/video/QmL0V667QzI/w-d-xo.html (Funky, funky, funky and Hana behind the drums singing)
Tamashii: th-cam.com/video/Jt7-GGRa3nc/w-d-xo.html (Synchronised drumming and Hana singing again behind the drums. Still, it doesn't get any more precise, tatoo-like precision)
    I Wish I: th-cam.com/video/-R6Nrr_omjE/w-d-xo.html

Seconded the Gacharic Spin recommendation although again you can't judge them from one song because their range is so deep and wide. Not all of their songs are for everyone (and it'd be awfully boring if they were).

Love, love, love MTH! The only reason I don’t hear them enough is because most of their song titles are in Japanese so I find it difficult to identify the songs to play. Every song they play is very different often with a touch of multiple genre that make them unpredictable but always fun and enjoyable to hear and watch them

MTH is an incredible band, they have so much eclectic content in every song, usually 3 vocal styles and 4 or 5 music genres all seamlessly squashed together. And by the way, this song is not a real reflection of what the band sounds like, simply because they are so varied in what the splice into their songs, everything from metal (of all styles) reggae, disco, clean vocals, harsh vocals, harsh rap, and that’s only in 1 song. Choose ANY of their songs, they all impress 👍🇦🇺🤟

I believe you also got recommendation of this band from NEMOPHILA reaction and FYI, Murata Tamu (NEMOPHILA Drummer) started playing drum after she found out that Hormone drummer is a women (Nao-chan). Tamu not only inspired by her drumming skills but the musical talent overall which includes singing. Having said that, check out Tamu drumming while not only doing the singing as a backup vocal but the main vocalist. Check her out performing for her own song live in collaboration with Ladybeard (Deadlift Lolita vocalist) title D Absolutely! SAMURAI In The Rain - written in Japanese as 【ライブ】むらたたむ&レディビアード / D絶対!SAMURAIインザレイン

More of the same doesn't really exist for MTH. Genre mixing is the norm. This song is actually one of the more straightforward and "accessible" ones. At a certain point I bought everything of theirs I could get my hands on and I *still* hardly know what to expect. Although that might be the drain bramage talking. Love them though. 10/10 would happily get whiplash again.

MTH are sometimes referred to as, the System Of A Down, of Japan. But that's not really a fair comparison, for System Of A Down. This was one of their more user friendly songs, to get a better idea of what they are listen to A.L.I.E.N. or Yoshu Fukushu.
