    What we lack is a REAL Captain on the pitch, to shake up the team.
    Luke had a terrible game, and he was the Captain!!
    Without Tyler and Max, there was no real driving force.

    Do think there was a degree of arrogance involved going into the game, and from the players and fans when we went a goal up. The whole game stunk of Derby in the play offs when they equalised just before half time. Its the worst time to concede and best time to equalise.

      That's exactly what happened.
      We ran and ran and ran (for 44 minutes), while Crystal Palace's pacey forwards just watched us miss chance after chance after chance.... and then simply took over when we were knackered with nothing to show for it.

    Thank you Square Ball for bringing Phil into the more visual world, so to speak. Phil is one of the very few journalists who's opinions I respect and who's observations I can trust. However, Phil is so good at his job that he bears witness, observes and reports on what he is seeing to the best of his knowledge and ability in order to explain to people who otherwise couldn't do that. Top bloke Phil, thank you too sir. My problem is that after 49 years on this earth and God knows how many matches I've watched, I cannot recall a game in which a team goes from being so dominant in a fixture to being so utterly obliterated within an hour. Perhaps my memory fails me these days. What is it with this current Leeds United? I remember speaking to a chap from Sunderland while we were flying (20 minutes gone I guess) and telling him how annoying and yet predictable it was that we always come out of the traps at Elland Road for 10-15 minutes and if it doesn't go our way then we quite quickly crawl back into our shell and, before you know it, fall behind. After around 30 minutes (forgive me if my details aren't 100% accurate) I commented again that we seem to have got past all that now and seem relentless....I was so content. Then BAM....Firpo gives them a freekick which we know they're pretty good at and 1-1. That's ok I thought, we'll continue our onslaught and reduce them to rubble before the hour mark. Then....BAM....BAM again, like a boxer being hurt by a right hook before he's had time to work out where the uppercut came from. Silence. Quiet. Peace. Then BAM and BAM AGAIN!! What just happened? I don't know how the players feel but I'm still trying to recover from the uppercut. I love Phil Hay and the Square Ball; but will one of you please explain to me what why where when who? Pass me another icepack if you would ;-)

    Phil Hay hits the nail on the head. It's no use playing well for half the game. It has to be sustained for 90 minutes and Leeds haven't done this nearly all season. To get out ofthis mess they will have to give 100% in every minute for the WHOLE game. If not it will be relegation, unfortunately.

    So the rumours are that Ayling, Roca and McKennie had a big dust up during half time. If true, that would clearly affect the whole team after the break.

  • @EllandRoar84

    I think Javi found out what most Leeds fans already knew about this squad. They can't be trusted to put in back to back performances without making changes. West Ham's defending against Newcastle in that 1-5 home defeat was laughable. Four days later, they came back and won 1-0 at Fulham. Leeds need to do the same. Still plenty of points to play for. Palace might have done Leeds a favour for the rest of the season, in that they now know that you can't ease off, lose concentration or underestimate the opposition.

      @@cockoffgewgle4993 True, but West Ham self-destructed and it doesn't change the point that they showed that it is possible to come back from a crushing home defeat to win away a few days later.
      The sooner everyone moves on from last Sunday's shocker against Palace, the better. With 8 vital games in the next 5 weeks, there isn't much time for recriminations and blame. There is no reason why Leeds shouldn't pick up enough points to stay up, but they will need everyone behind them.

    • @cockoffgewgle4993
      @cockoffgewgle4993 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@portcullis5622 It all comes back to personnel. You have your key players missing, you invariably struggle. Tyler Adams has been our Kalvin Phillips this season. We've conceded 18 goals in 6 games without him. Averaging 1.33 goals conceded per game with him.
      Add Wober being missing, who has had a similar effect and the result isn't a surprise. And with Adams missing for the rest of the season and having no backup DM, we're in serious trouble. Eze and Olise ran riot because there was no DM to tackle them and to cover the back 4.
      Our defence has always been shambolic in the PL over the last 3 years when any of KP, Adams, Wober haven't played. Koch did okay at DM sometimes under Bielsa. But we should face the reality that the rest of our defensive players, GK included, are simply poor.

    • @portcullis5622
      @portcullis5622 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cockoffgewgle4993 I agree that the current team (especially defence) is barely good enough for the top tier, but there are a few other teams just as bad (or worse), so let's hope they can do enough to survive this season and rebuild in the summer. The Palace game was a chance to keep out of trouble for a bit, but now I think it will go down to the last two games. Liverpool this weekend, Man City away in a few weeks and then a possible 'must win' against Spurs at home on the last day make me worry!

    • @cockoffgewgle4993
      @cockoffgewgle4993 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@portcullis5622 I'm not sure who these 3 worse teams are though tbh lol. Leicester also have a terrible defence, seemingly. But they also have Ndidi to protect it.
      West Ham have some tough fixtures. Their remaining home games are Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal (and us) and they have to go to Man City. But they have a game in hand and a point advantage.
      Our last 4 games are horrifying. If we need points by then we're doomed. And I just can't see how we're going to not concede goals with Adams out and no DM in the squad to even try to do his job.
      This game and Leicester at home we needed to win. Or at least take 4 points from.
