For the first time in 8 years, I did the same thing I've done many times without any success, but yesterday when I tried to put my 1985 Goldwing 1200 on the center stand I did it! Since yesterday, I've done it a few more times and it seems like dealing with a toy for me now! I practice every Saturday for 30 minutes of slow riding and lock-to-lock turns, and also today was like having a toy between my legs, it felt all unreal. I guess we have those types of days once in our lives.
Thanks for the tip on getting the wing on and off the center stand, now how about a video on replacing the water pump on a GL 1500, please and thank you
Never understood the technique of using my right foot where I'm off balance as soon as I step up on the stand. I square my hips to the bike, drop the center stand with my left foot rocking it back and forth to make sure the bike is touching down on the center stand on both sides and then step up and pull back with the right hand on the grab handle and left hand on the handlebar. If I loose my balance, I just step back down and the bike rolls forward. If I use my right foot, if I lose my balance it is much harder to recover without the a fall. Been doing it this way for 40 years and using my right foot feels so unnatural/ackward to me.
Oh, so that is what that old piece of plywood was for in my trunk. I don't need. Show us how to pick up the entire bike from on it's side with a skinny little girl. Have seen a good video with that. Really works easily.

Wow fantastic. I have been struggling with this. I did not think to stand on the center stand. Thanks for the tip!

I still can't do it after owning a 1500 for 3 years 😂😂😂 you make it look easy 😠😊
Roll the rear wheel onto a piece of 1/2" plywood and then lift; make it much easier.
