- We drive the 2024 Polestar 2 RWD LR Plus Pack. Impressive car all around! I admit I was wrong about Polestar 2. This updated model is a true Model 3 fighter with 515km of range, larger battery, more power and refinement. Fantastic car!

As a P2 owner for 2 years, with plenty of friends who also own one….I can say with a lot of certainty, that most of the people reviewing, or the media writing about the P2, miss the major points why most who buy them, prefer them…minor faults, or not….for two major reasons: #1 reason - Good looks. Clean, inside and out, with that Euro-sedan minimalist look. #2 reason - NOT a Tesla. It’s unique. It’s different, and that appeals to a lot of people. ALL EV’s have issues. Every one of them….and those who are astute to that fact, tend to look for other reasons to buy one brand, over another.
Well said!
I've had my 24YM single motor long range for 9 days now and have done about 1000km in poor winter weather. I'm really pleased, no buyers remorse. Great to drive, quiet, good range even in winter. It did reach a bit over 170kW charging speed at best so far.
I really like the look and design of this Polestar. The 2024 facelift is very well done. In my opinion, there are few competitors in this category, not to mention the market leader. Perhaps the BMW i4, but I prefer this Polestar.
If you like the Polestar 2 you really should drive an i4, its a better EV, the eDrive 40 has very good range, in Norway it's a genuine 550km car.
Not really the same price range is it? The i4 is 20k more expensive in the Netherlands than this polestar.
These new cars should have a 205kW limit over the 155kW of the previous versions. There's a good charging video showing the curve from Björn Nyland in Norway.
Several downsides of the higher rate. One is the higher rates will result in reduced traction battery lifetime and SOH. I’ll easily trade 10 minute longer charging time, if I can extend the lifetime and SOH each year. Then there is the fact that most EV owners charge at home, so charging rate is irrelevant.
Glad to see an automotive reviewer locally in Montreal, keep going. I will keep watching.
Nice video made locally in Laval. You have my full support! Keep them coming!
Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot to us!
Anyone happy with the fact the Polestar actually feels like a real car that is electric and not an EV that tries to be a car? 😮
I agree with this and its also what my wife likes about it.
Yes this is also my expirence and most EV's is big bricks. Polestar is more like a normal car even it is an EV
Music was too loud but thanks for the video.
Thank you for mentioning that. We have lowered the level in our latest videos
You slipped and said “I’m gonna let off on the gas”😄
I always get the velocitator and deceleratrix confused
Very well made video, smooth edits and easy to follow along!
Glad you liked it!
Interesting review.
Clearly, the newer model impressed you.
Whilst I live in Australia and pricings will obviously differ, would be interested to know what additional packs you added and what was the additional cost, in US$'s if possible, thanks.
I no longer have the press sheet for it sadly
Nice addition of charging times along with the costs! As someone looking into buying their first EV its great info, along with the content of the videos.
Glad it was helpful!
What is your average km/kwh (mile/kwh)? Thank you
I was hoping you would do a snow test as well
There wasn’t lots of snow when I filmed. It had been all cleaned.
*205kW charging limit, in Europe at least
It has a peak charging speed of 205 kW
Hi, nice review!. Whats the range we can expect in our Montreal weathers?😅
My time with the car was limited and I think for that sorta test you need a baseline. I’d guess maybe 10-20% for most of winter with higher on the coldest days. If you can charge at home I would just set the limit to 80-90% and charge it overnight then pre heat in the am
Thanks mate. One more thing. What is the rated range of this car?.. I heard two different numbers for the long range single motor version. One is 500+ kms and another is 620 something in Europe. Which is the version we got in Canada?
This model is rated EPA 515km as tested. I’d say 450km is more realistic.
@@simplygregsterev cool. Thanks.
