This was the best beginners handstand routine I've ever followed. I love your attention to full range of motion, scapular mobility, explanations for positioning and setting us up for the next move, and your cool down stretches. The lateral stretching after all routine and day of studying helped me get a better breath! Your video and energy have inspired me to get back into my routines.
Wow! This was so challenging! I didn’t realize how hard a handstand would be, you make it look so easy! I need to let go of my fear of falling, will be doing this 2x a week for sure !
I only just discovered you through your calisthenics for beginners routine that you posted four years ago. Loving your videos so far, but my favourite thing is you saying “you can do hard things” ❤❤❤
I appreciate how real you are. You don't care about having a hole in your sock or being super elegant, showing us all that we're all the same. Great job Summer, stay real and keep progressing. Your content is great!
how did i only find your channel now? seriously, i've been looking for someone like you for years!! i'm only two minutes into the video and know i'll be coming back to work out with you because I love your energy and way of explaining! thanks for such amazing content
when i first watched this video and followed along, i laughed when you did the crow pose because i thought, there's no way i'll ever be able to do that. i tried it and immediately fell. but doing this video a few times a week for the past couple of weeks, plus some other workout videos you've posted, today i was able to balance in the crow pose for several seconds with just one toe on the ground for balance, and then i managed a full second with my feet in the air! you're a great teacher, all the tips and form reminders are super helpful, thank you for what you do!!
Hi summer!I have started to watch and do your training videos since just yesterday!I used to be an athlete of artistic swimming, contemporary and ballet dancer/teacher, for a year I did a few callisthenics and mostly crossfit, until I got injured and forced to stop. And so many more different practices.Changing country, habits, giving birth to 2 strong and amazing amazons, my year resolution was to start all over, despite a discomfort on my collar bone and shoulder.. I will really do this!Thank you so much for your effort and mostly because you are self-taught!That is a hell out of worth!Keep it up and inspire us!Have a great 2024!
I just found your Visio and it is the best handstand routine to learn in order to do it right. I’m 62 years old and started to do handstands at 50. Injury’s and life got me off it in times but I always come back to it. Your warm up and strengthening exercise are so very helpful. Thank you so much for teaching and posting your videos
You are such a great coach!!! You say the right things to do at the appropriate times which helps so much. I actually feel like I am improving after just 2 of your handstand videos. Plus, I have been able to do crow position for over a decade, but I improved significantly simply following your steps. Thank you so much!
I have been doing this practice twice a week for the past three weeks and… wow! I have seriously made huge practice! Thank you so much. I had a little celebration today when I was practicing kick up’s and was able to hold it!
Just saying: you're the best!!! Love the attitude and the enthusiasm and - of course - admire your dedication. THANK YOU. You're are an inspiration and those Follow Along Routines are great. Keep 'em coming. I hope I survive the drill and get to press to handstand before I die!!!
I really appreciate this handstand guide and routine. It not only is a stand alone shoulder/back workout but it is so productive in building handstand skills. I have the strength and flexibility to do a handstand I just have zero confidence in the maneuver so this is great! Additionally (I broke my back 2 years ago and have a lot of metal in my thoracic and it does weird stuff) the warm up sequence really loosened it up. My back feels great for the first time in a while.
Even though I am not a begginer in handstands I like to include variations in my routines and this is one of the best follow along I ever tried. Focused on trying to get that mind muscle connection and alignment of main important parts. TY
glad to know i'm not the only one to be not able to do it as a beginner! i was thinking - oh my, if that's a beginner's way of doing a handstand, i'm screwed even more than i thought haha
Love your videos! I've been doing yoga and in advanced positions there are handstands and headstands. Crow pose of course is a must but there are a lot of calisthenics in yoga and I watch your videos to help me improve those. Thank you so much, I've always been scared of handstands because my arms are a bit weak so I couldn't do the one against the wall just yet but it's my first time really trying without anyone helping me but I feel like I can do much more thanks to you!!!
The best handstand routine I have ever gone through. I especially like your positive attitude that keeps me pushing to better result! So addictive! :) . Great job! Thank you million times! :)
Hi summer, another great video. I have been following you for about a month, every video is top quality, and your instructions are very helpful. You are like a summer breeze, giving me motivation and inspiration. Best of luck.❤❤❤
Youve got yourself a new subscriber, Im a man trying calisthenics for a bit now but these are the best videos by far. Amazing attention to detail, and I love some follow along trainings!
Such a great video. I came for the handstand but I also was going to look for a crow pose video, so this one was all I needed. You are trully beautiful too. Thank you!
Wow! I love this Goddess! I also love that she is Vegan ❤I'm a Vegan athlete too. Looking forward to doing a handstand soon. I took gymnastics as a child. It's so much fun ❤
Just finished the workout. This was a little tough than i expected but amazing workout. I was able to do everything but the crow position i have to work more on my balance hold
I did my crow facing a wall, my hands about a feet's distance from the wall. That helped me lightly support my head and feel more secure, not worry about falling on my face 😅
Just finished. This is so strange to me. For context, I've been practising calisthenics at home, mostly working on glutes and ab exercises, for soon to be 4 months now. A tiny bit of handstand/ headstand practice (okay like three times and some goofing around). Worked once so far on mobility exercises, pistol squats and managed to achieve them assisted, however pretty challenging. Along with some pilates, planks and daily yoga practice. Been working on gaining weight and muscle from being an underweight twig, still trying to eat more to grow more muscle. I've never felt so in-between when it comes to ease and diffuctly in a practice. I guess maybe this routine is just familiar enough to be easier, but still new enough to be awkward. I haven't practiced crow poses or handstands in a while, and was greatly surprised (really it was just a bit of impovement) I felt a whole lot more ease and strength than I was used too! I was shocked, or maybe it was just your direction, I've never held crow pose for that long. This will be my new daily go to video for handstand training. Much appreciated, thankyou!
Thanks for the great tutorial. I've started trying to learn handstands on a couple of occasions before but not followed it through for one reason or another. This time just in this one session following your video I feel like I made loads of progress. However - I seem to have managed to tweak one of my glutes doing the leg kick ups. Do you have any warm up tips to avoid doing this in future?
This is an incredible video! I’m curious, when you did the leg lifts while on your stomach, your thighs came so much more off the ground than mine. Does anyone know if this is a strength issue in the back of leg glute or more so flexibility issue in the quad/hip flexor? Or something else. Thanks for any advice!
Hey summer, thank so much for your videos! U explain the exercises so well! I started calisthenics about a month ago and i am doingy skill training 3x per week. I am having a hard time placing my knees for ghe crow pose. Any advice to where they should go? It is also quite painful 😅 thank you !
For the arm raises where you lay down, only 8 minutes in and this easier than I anticipated. Which has me wondering if i'm doing it right. This really engaged my core and lower back even though I was trying to work the shoulders and arms. Thoughts?
The last exercise, where you put your knees on your ellbows. I couldn’t hold this, so I didn’t lift my feet from the ground. Was that the correct easier way for the beginning? Thanks for the awesome workout and explanation. I hope I’ll be able to handstand with this.
Thanks so much Summer! I loved this and surprised myself by being able to get up in the wall. I haven’t been able to get up yet using my off leg- any tips for overcoming that mentally or physically?
I have been regularly following your videos, very nice, and can see your abilities, I have a question, my son is 13 years old, he is a gymnast can calisthenics help improvement in gymnastics?
This got me thinking, why the focus on raising your shoulders? The bit of other knowledge I have from kettlebell training is to do exactly the opposite during a similar movement (an overhead press), i.e. keep your shoulder joint as close to the torso as possible to increase its stability. Then again, I am by not any means an expert on handstands and only have some half-a$sed attempts every now and then under my belt, so I’m genuinely curious. Thanks!
Former track &. Bball player post too many surgeries & kids trying to get into calisthenics… I’ve been doing the beginner 12 min video daily for 2+ weeks and decided this would be a good progression … but is there another approach if you can’t do the kick-ups against the wall immediately? That’s min 20 of a 35 min session and I’d love to progress more!

This is "hands down"😉, one of the best intros to handstand I've ever seen

Great workout, thanks. I struggled a little on the handstand kick ups bc I am afraid to go upside down.
Love your voice, instructions, your fitness, your teaching style. You are perfect!
Those first movements, shoulder protraction and retraction from all angles; Awesome! Love your hair too. Thank you for your helpful insights 🔥
This is such a great follow along workout , it targets all necessary parts , HONESTLY YOUR SO UNDERRATED
Even though I am not a begginer in handstands I like to include variations in my routines and this is one of the best follow along I ever tried. Focused on trying to get that mind muscle connection and alignment of main important parts. TY
What if you can't even kick up against the wall 😢?
keep trying until you get it
It took me 9 weeks 😂
You keep doing crow pose, that’s the prerequisite to hold your body weight
What if scared to do it?
glad to know i'm not the only one to be not able to do it as a beginner! i was thinking - oh my, if that's a beginner's way of doing a handstand, i'm screwed even more than i thought haha
Thank you sooooo much this was the best beginner routine I ever did and after one time I felt huge difference and imroved my handstand, thank you☺
wow! That standing scapular warmup really is something! It's perfect for warming up before pole!
This was wow great! Thank you so much! I have almost given up hope on ever being able to handstand, but it has been renewed today!

Thanks Summer. It's a skill I'd like to master. Those freestand lunges were sketchy as hell at first (and still kind of are).
Just finished the workout. This was a little tough than i expected but amazing workout. I was able to do everything but the crow position i have to work more on my balance hold

Three weeks streaks!
It's my fourth time today. Im going to move to a advanced one since this is getting a bit easy now!!
I did my crow facing a wall, my hands about a feet's distance from the wall. That helped me lightly support my head and feel more secure, not worry about falling on my face 😅

I folded the crow pose for so much longer (10s) than before yayy! but I need to get my hips higher ig
Ok can we all agree that crow pose is impossible ? (Please)
But awesome tutorial !! 🥰
