Thank you for the kind words. Yes, Levi may be cold and harsh but when it comes down to it, he is one of the empathetic and caring characters in any Manga I've read, let alone Attack on Titan.
Great observation on Levi's facial expression after killing zeke. I never really noticed it before but thinking about it now I'd say the expression is more of a look of "Finally", because of all the lives this one guy took from him.
Amazing video, lately my love for levi has been growing slowly and with the anime adaptation he's only going to get better for me. By far the best character under the "overpowered" trope i have seen. The core of his character is very much in line with part of the message aot tries to convey, like you said to overcome fate and to keep on living with no regrets by forming connections with others (this is very vagabond esque in a way). Levi carries such an emotional side to himself disguised under his cold demeanor which has lead to many people completely dismissing the layers to his character and labeling him as just a badass character when in reality his character is by far one of the most humane and emotionally taxing in the story. His conclusion will change our lives in the anime.
I 100% agree Legy, he has so much more depth than just the stereotypical badass black-haired character trope. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I hope it concisely presented everything, be sure to check out my other videos as well. I'm gonna pump these out regularly.
Incredible analysis Levi is a character that gets talked about a lot in attack on titan and I have seen no better analysis than this you have taught me things about Levi that I didn’t even consider. I’m not going to pretend to know how long it took you to make this video but it must of taken awhile and it shows it was one of the best character analysis I have seen. Incredible work binger
Thank you so much for the kind words and support. This video took me two weeks to make and the process took a piece of my soul. However, I am incredibly happy with the final product and I am eternally grateful to you for supporting it!
I love the video! Levi is one of AoT's most well-written characters and more people need to see it. The intro was also really well-done, especially with the music!
Exemplar video on a character who was never my fav . I have always liked him and considered him well written but this video make me appreciate his presence in the story even more especially on how he defines or contrasts to Kenny's and Erwin arc . Two of my aot fav characters. Kudos to you king subbed
Levi Ackerman is literally the only character i still find compelling after that dumpster fire of an ending Not only he's a badass as the strongest soldier, but he also just feels very human, carrying the burden of all of his fallen comrades, if anyone deserved a happy ending, it's him. Him ending with looking after Gabi and Falco, who probably remind him of Isabel and Farlan, was very fitting. I feel like i'd genuienly enjoyed the finale more if the story was told from Levi's POV.
Levi was treated awfully by humans, being born and raised underground the cities and yet, until the end he flighted to save them. He got though a lot. And in the anime i remember him saying many times that they need to find the truth about the titans in order to save humanity. And when he learned that titans were actually people, he felt devastated. He just wanted peace and its very heartwarming the fact that he was able to get his peace. I do not understand why people claim that he should have died because he did not have to fight any more. No, his purpose was to save people and bring peace and i believe that he was the hero of humanity, while at the same time Eren was the villain even though he did what he did to save his people. Both of them represent two different roads of that a hero could follow. For example, Levi would never kill all humanity to save the Eldians, while Eren did. But that does not mean that either's way is wrong. Cause it does makes sense because in the end they were still the heroes. Also his loyalty towards Erwin. My god! Until the end. And the scene where he was crying, made me cry!!!!! I think that he was the writer's favorite, Levi. Mine too.
My idea about Levi's expression after killing Zeke is that it's him letting go of Erwin. Erwin was important to him, and that goal of fulfilling his promise to kill Zeke is a huge part of Levi's motivation going forwards. Once Zeke is finally dead, the promise is fulfilled, meaning Levi's obligations to Erwin are done now. He has to go find his own way. Sure, he can do that, but Erwin meant a lot to Levi and still does even after his death. To me, that expression is like Levi saying "It's done, Erwin. Now I can let you go." It could also just be that Levi is completely unfulfilled by killing Zeke. Maybe he realises that he feels completely indifferent and doesn't know how to feel about that. Or maybe it's both....But I prefer my first idea. It's a really beautiful panel, honestly...
I think it's because Zeke essentially killed himself by alerting Levi to his location. Levi probably guessed that he had joined their side and was sacrificing himself basically, which made the kill much less satisfying, he was killing a person now rather than a monster.
@quickbinger1058 I'm not sure if that really changes much. Annie actively helped them and he still can be seen glaring at her. Zeke had never shown remorse for the hundreds of scouts he killed, plus the people he had turned into titans. It might be a part of it, but I don't think Zeke giving away his position would have affected how satisfying it was for Levi to kill Zeke. That being said, I don't think Levi would have found it particularly satisfying anyway.
@oricoriopauenthusiast That's 100% fair, I do still stand by my interpretation. I also think a part of it is because he has nothing to really live for. Zeke gave his life purpose essentially, but then at the end he finds meaning again and presumably lives a happy life.
@oricoriopauenthusiast Yeah I like to imagine right before he died he saw his loved ones and joined them: Erwin, Hange, Kenny, his Mother, his Squad etc. Perhaps he even had a soft of mentor figure or Fatherly bond with Gabi and Falco, who knows. Hopefully the upcoming spinoff Bad Boy will shed some light on what he's doing after the series.
Damn this shit is a great video. Editing, music, and your voice just makes everything come together for me. Levi was always under appreciated in my eyes, and you’ve genuinely given me a slightly different view of this character. I usually don’t like it when people say this kind of stuff but you are greatly underrated, and deserve way more attention.
Thank you so much for supporting me! I will continue to make videos with similar or even better quality to this one in order to grow. This Friday ill be diving into the dynamic of Kenny and Uri, and after that ill be doing a special non-aot related video about another series I really enjoy. I hope you enjoy my future videos and continue to enjoy them👍
Having recently caught up with Attack on Titan this definitely resonates. I love you've used the same clip that I also used in my channel intro! Crazy! Subbed.
This video is thematically structured awesomely. Your editing improved a lot as it also matched up with the sound quality. It’s pretty calming to listen to. I pretty much agree with all your takes on Levi. This is a guy who had a cruel life all his life ever since he was just a boy and became burdened with taking it on once he joined the survey corps and learned from Erwin about regrets. I think the thing that shapes Levi’s character the most is that he kinda personifies the concept of making choices and getting unpredictable results. I’m looking forward to the next one. Good job
Next is gonna be an analysis of Kenny and Uri since that topic goes hand-in-hand with Levi. Thanks for the support bro, hope you keep up the good work with your channel too!
Great job Binger really great video, editing is amazing and it flows really nicely it’s easy to watch and the music choice also makes it easy to watch and flow well. I’ve also seen other Levi videos in the past but this one is definitely the best, this one goes way more in depth. This must have taken a while so again great job 👏

@@quickbinger1058 I was referring to youtube overall probably going to be loud on the ending but whatever you have in planning, I'm sure will be interesting as well
Yeah just finished it. Great video all around, I agree with pretty much everything you said. Also thanks for mentioning the Annie situation, I see too many people complaining about that. Also I agree completely with your interpretation of Levi's face after he kills Zeke
Levi's expression is one of painful remembrance and satisfaction that he fulfilled the parting promise he had made to Erwin. Erwin and majority of the Scouts presented themselves to be shredded by rocks.. all to get Levi to take down the Beast Titan. While beheading Zeke.. in that moment he was reminded of all their agonising screams, their blood splattered as far as his eyes could see, of the the moment when he had to let Erwin go, of all the young lives lost. Levi had to do it, his eyes bore witness to Zeke's disgusting callousness as he killed humans like their lives were meaningless. Nothing could have changed his mind or his heart that was burdened for so long with the weight of the sacrifices made to get him to that very moment.
@@quickbinger1058 I hope so aswell. Hell a few people have even said that he didn't care about Erwin or Hange enough to sacrifice himself. What an idiotic theory to make. They will always find something to hate that isn't even justified.
You're crying Captain Levi Heichō. Kill him! Levi is proud of you you did a great job soldier. We Fight for the good of humanity. ..I screwed up then why'd you think killing yourself was a good idea? Oh about that in the end your going to throw away yourself and just fully die and be dead. That's is so sad and depressing to watch.
Great analysis on Levi, even tho I have many problems with the series towards the end, Levi still is one of the best characters. About the Annie thing, it's a interesting issue, unfortunately these two characters didn't interact in the end, I felt like Yams kinda dodged this topic. I don't think Levi forgave her, but maybe is more like he didn't even had the time in his head for trying to seek revenge on her due to the situation. He desperately wanting to kill Zeke feels more of a promise to Erwin than a revenge driven thing. But yeah a few rushed aspects about it, but still a great character overall imo.
I do think Yams should have made Levi, at most, take a brief jab at her with a sarcastic quip or something but other than that the Annie thing isn't that important. Overall, yeah Levi is a legendary character.
He is almost like Wolverine in my opinion. He’s so damn powerful that he’s almost immortal compared to his comrades and as a result almost everyone he’s ever cared about is dead. The survivor’s guilt must be insane for the poor man.
Good video. I don’t think Levi ever out right forgave her just accepted the fact that she needs to be on the team not really his choice since he can’t do anything I truly believe that Annie would have been beaten like eren was then move past it because I don’t see it as very fair. You forgot to mentioned the he thunder spear moment Levi acts unlike his usual self because he feels above zeke in that he deserves the torture leading to his downfall and over changed point of view. Overall good video
Thank you for the support. I agree that Levi probably doesn't completely forgive Annie, but he definitely understood and accepted her place in the Alliance, I wish he did have one scene with her, like imagine him insulting her for a second amidst the chaos and moving on right after. Levi's anger works because it's subtle and not very noticeable, but once you do notice you really understand what's going on in his head.
Great video! i posted my own analysis of Levi on Tumblr, focusing on his inner world and mostly his struggles and how the past could have impacted his future choices

Your interpretation is valid, but I personally still believe Zeke and Levi had a sort of wordless mutual understanding in their last confrontation.
