    Just picked up the Shimano Sahara FJ 2500. First cast tmrw morning. Can't wait!!
    Lighter weight plus great balance
    G-Free Body design
    High-durability HAGANE Gear
    SilentDrive technology for smooth retrieval
    X-Ship gear support system
    Propulsion Line Management System
    Screw-in handle
    The Stella is the higher class purchase but man for the price and aesthetics you can't go wrong.

    I have a Sahara 2000 spinning reel about 10 years old still going strong . I have the Nexave 3000 spinning reel for about 2 years and both perform like new.

    The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

    I own and have used many different brands of spinning reels and the Shimano IMO are the smoothest and solid feeling reels

    Bought a 5000 Sahara 2 weeks ago and have handled Stripers from 18-29"'s exceptionally well. This past Labor Day weekend it was able to pull in Stripers back to back for 2 days. However, after coming home I noticed that it started to make a clicking noise when the spool reaches to the top before coming back down. Just sharing my experience with the reel so far. Maybe already time to upgrade to a Spheros cause these Stripers are nothing to play around with.

    What about Shimano baitrunner reels?

  • @eddielikesfishing
    @eddielikesfishing ปีที่แล้ว

    Buy the Catana line reels and maintain them yourself. Rinse them off every trip. Depending upon how much you use them, take them completely apart and clean and lube them either once every 6 months, or once a year. It should last a very long time. If you think it is overly complicated, take pictures for references.

    A good reel in that moment you catch that epic lifetime fish, is when you look at it and say man that was worth every penny... 😎

      Amen. When I caught my PB Snook, I was glad it was on my Stradic! If I used a cheap reel, that drag and gearing would have been toast.

    How do I determine if my reel isn’t too big for my rod? I have the Shimano Sahara C5000XG and a 6’9 Phenix Feather medium power/fast spinning rod. The reel feel like it sits fine in the seat but when I tighten it, I’m afraid it will eventually break because it feels kinda heavy. Should I go and try a 4000?

    • @AliexFolgueira
      @AliexFolgueira  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can, take the rod to the tackle store and test different sizes, Shimano reels are smaller so 5000 is more like a 4000

    That 2500 reel is trash. Wears out quickly. I wasted money on 2. After a couple months the main gear rubs on a set screw every time it passes by on both freaking reels.
