Our friend Allegra is one of the most stylish people we know and certainly has an eye for design, but she also happens to be one of the busiest people we know! Which is why she tasked us with making over her sustainable fashion brand Uncle Studios' loft bathroom and office space for her and her team. We installed some vintage light fixtures, added an IKEA hack KALLAX unit, DIY'd some beautiful floor-to-ceiling curtains and brought in thrifted Parisian-inspired decor. In the bathroom, we broke some rules to paint the walls peach and the bathtub a complimentary rust colour while updating the space with a new mirror, gold light fixtures, and white shelves. What is your favourite part of this makeover? Let us know below!

I really would’ve liked to see Kelsey’s bathroom come to life - it sounded so cool! Still beautiful though!
kind of cried a little on the inside... lol I'm exaggerating but yes I would have loved to see it
th-cam.com/video/PeioajZbDdw/w-d-xo.html
@@a_2502 th-cam.com/video/PeioajZbDdw/w-d-xo.html
I was hoping they'd combine the ideas, so have Kelsey's teal and dried flowers, but a little more of Becky's peachy-pink!
I wish they split it up and did Kelseys bathroom but do Beckeys studio.
Man i would have LOVED to see Kelsey’s bathroom ideas- it honestly was like nothing I’ve ever heard of before and I love seeing original creative ideas like that come to life cause it’s hard to visualise. So sad to see another amazing idea that doesn’t come to life!
honestly, that was a HUGE reaction from Allegra. Like she said, she's pretty monotone. I was shocked by her reaction. You guys killed it
Wish they did that style of curtain for the hair dresser/airbnb/sewing lab loft space. Looks really beautiful.
Oh that would have been awesome I agree.
Yes it made so much more sense to have two big enough to actually cover the space
maybe there was a difference in the budget?
Ricardo bofil house is better example of curtains
"what's that TH-cam channel that cuts everything in half?"
me: the SAWry girls
Haha pun intended
I totally thought that's what they were going for
Omg so true though!!
Isi
Nice...
THANKS FOR MAKING OVER OUR SPACE!! Its so great working there now, you guys absolutely killed it xx
I couldn’t have handled it if beckys design wasn’t picked again. They both always have great designs and they work so well together so I hate the ‘competition’ aspect. I loved that dried floral art piece tho too!! How cool!
That was the one thing I REALLY wish they had incorporated from Kelsey's design. The dried florals above the tub would've still looked SO good with Becky's color scheme. And it'd also make a pretty cool avant garde shooting space. Sliiiiiiiightly wish they could've painted or swapped out the shower hardware for something gold-toned, but it still looked so much better.
@JustTryMe 2019 Okay, legit, while they were panning the bathroom, I was like, "it would've looked really pretty if they painted the claw feet gold." 😂😂😂
Corinne I know right ! I totally agree with you !!
Same but I actually preferred Kelsey’s design for the first time.
th-cam.com/video/PeioajZbDdw/w-d-xo.html
I really love Becky's design in the main room but I would have asked to mix so I could have the floral bathroom !!! Would have loved to see that bathtub and all... ^^
Same, I wonder if they will ever do mixed projects.
I was praying for Kelsey's dried flowers and teal being mixed with Becky's pink/peach
But maybe the owner wouldn't
It’s killing me a little that you didn’t paint the bottom of the shelves... great makeover! I would have painted the kitchen cabinets.
Jessica Nicole I’m glad someone said it 😹
Yeah! At leaaaast the bottom of the highest shelf
I was reading for this comment!
It was literally triggering my ocd ugh
I agree with bottom of shelves.....to me that was a shortcut that backfired and looks half done. I came in right after they added the rug and noticed it immediately, thought to myself...they painted the shelf and forgot the bottom.
I don't really get why there are always people complaining about the "competition" aspect of style selected. Personally, I think it's a nice refreshing alternative to your other collaborative designs for make overs. Really shows off both Becky's and Kelsey's creativity and also how different you can interpret a client's wishes and work with a space. Love the format, keep up the great work!
SAME! I love seeing completely different ideas for the same space. I find it really inspiring. And it doesn't really seem competitive to me tbh
It's not a 'real' competition because they both work together. There's episodes where they asked for a mix of two and they've done it !
I like it too! And even though we get to see only one design come to life, we get double the ideas for a space! So it's "more for your money", in a way. I was a bit upset because it seemed to me like Becky always wins but someone else said Kelsey's designs get picked all the time, so I guess it's just the episodes I've seen. :)
The client: “The bathroom is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.” Girl. You have obviously not had to deal with basement bathrooms.
I really liked Kelsey’s idea of hanging something above the bathtub. A pendant light or chandelier would be really cool, maybe even some hanging plants. Or a gallery wall behind the tub
I feel like you guys should have changed ALL the silver accents in the bathroom to gold like the accordion mirror and the towel rack
Yea.. Also I was wondering why they didn't put any towels on the actual towel rack lol
I agree. I hate to see mixed metallic hardware.
Finally Becky’s design was picked. I always like her designs and styles but she never gets to bring them to life. She finally got to and it’s beautiful. 💕
Here after the instagram live! I think the biggest takeaway is that we didn't know this process actually IS more collaborative between Kelsey, Becky, and the client in question! The client DOES get a say in the design and calls out things they do and don't like. I think we would just like to see more of those hurdles! But ultimately, LOVE this series it's my favorite and I like seeing how different Kelsey and Becky's styles are and it's cool to see the differences in how they would make over the same space!
And with regards to showing the process, they could show us their original designs in the beginning and then tell us what the client / TH-camr wanted to add / change about it.
I agree! I didn't realize what the process looked like before the video is shot, and it'd be nice to seem some of it. I think it could be a new way to use the vlog channel? Like, they could casually vlog bits and pieces of the process leading up to the actual shoot, and then it could be like a separate Behind the Scenes for people who are interested?
this is a lil strange to say, but i appreciate the fact that you guys get dressed up in every video, i know if it was me i’d be in sweats while doing all that work 😅🥴
justine this actually bugs me! Like sweating and getting possibly paint on nice clothes. Aaaa cringe
@@t4health527 their clothes are all mostly thrifted, so it's not like they would be messing up an expensive piece.
They wear the weirdest, least flattering dresses tbh. Like there was never a time when wearing a tank top over a long sleeve looked okay.
@@miraxterrik that's actually 90's fashion, which is definitely back.
@@Rikohness oh i know it was 90s. I was teen in the 90s. That's why I'm saying it didn't look good even then.
i would love my bathroom to look like Kelsey's design! the colors and style combination is just "chef's kiss"
I hate that the bottoms of the shelves weren't painted. You should have painted at least the top 2 ones
wikalivia yes!!! It’s driving me crazy 😂
yes that's all i could look at
I don't get it. Those are details that make the space.
Thank you!!!
Why don’t you at least say your favorite about the makeover before you criticize
I envy y'all's ability to move, paint, and style stuff in those cute outfits. I usually wear paint covered leggings and big baggy shirts or sweats lmfao
I can't paint anything without getting it on my hands up my arms and on my clothes so people are just the exception to the rule and these women fit the bill
IFKRRRRR WTF HAHAHAHA idk how they do it
Okay! I feel better knowing I’m not the only one that thought this!
Nailed it! Fantastic job. Simple changes in the bathroom made a massive difference. Loved the under the stairs storage solution.
I think this was the best design I have seen in awhile. Minimal and soft. The colors were all perfect. Actual functional work space but stylish.
I loved this makeover. I normally love more color but I can see where the beautiful clothes and other items they use for their design work provide enough color for the designers, models, etc. I love all of the Sorry Girls designs!
You should add Kelsey’s design in the bathroom I really love the dried florals it’s gonna looks amazing in real life :((
Kelsey, the high bun with the bangs is sooo cute on you 😍! One of my fave hairstyles to do on myself
I feel so bad but I’m not really feeling this. Vintage vibes but minimalism doesn’t really work, and the bathroom looks more old fashioned than vintage. Since it’s such a bright space I think it’s should have been kept that way. And a feature wall or a statement piece in the room to help it look more put together, wish they would combine designs as some of Kelsey’s ideas would have been gorgeous x
Alie W I felt that
yeah i hated the bathroom... it wasnt minimalistic at all
Yeah I think they were going more after their own style and not what Allegra wanted...
I've had a super hard day already. When I saw a new Sorry Girls video, it brightened it just a little! Thanks y'all!
Hope your day gets a little better!
*Nobody*
TSG: Let's put some ceiling to floor curtains to divide the space.
I feel like I always like Kelsey's design more but this time Becky's got into my heart for sure.
Y’all, attention to details. The underside of the shelves you just left unpainted that would BUG me if I was sitting in that room and I could see under there.
L R yeah that really bugged me too
SheLeaves Right!!
And the raw edges on the kallax
@@itstaradelaney and the gold and silver hodge podge of hardware in the bathroom
They only have so much time to get the room staged. Surely the client can finish minor touch-ups.
Lol y’all always look so salty at each other when someone chooses the other person but are able to keep working together so well I love it lol
Wonderful ladies, this turned out so amazing, love the floor to ceiling curtains, and the shelf under the stairs that you cut to fit that space perfectly. Love the bathroom, the peach is so chic and the tub a darker tone than the walls makes it beautiful, it is a gorgeous bathroom now. I love how you come up with two different designs and then the client chooses which one they like, it is a win win for everybody. Thanks again ladies, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
Kelsey I think we would love to see that bathroom design irl. You should really make that happen. Please 🥺
P.s. I love you guys. Indian fan here♥️
Love it! Was hoping theyd sneak that floral arrangement in too, tho. What can i say, i want it all lol
PLEASE don’t retire Kelsey’s bathroom idea! I would absolutely adore seeing something like that come to life!!!
I think they did exactly what the client wanted . Cos she chose it and you can’t do what you want when the client told you otherwise... this is perfect . Plus they can’t please everyone at the same time
I love this. It's my favorite makeover in a while. However there were details that would've made it even better and were neglected like painting the bottom of the shelves and painting the silver towel rod so they didn't clash so much. The bookshelf under the stairs is awesome. My favorite part was the bathroom.
Okay, I really missed style selected!!! I actually liked both designs equally. Kind of wish some aspects of the other design was integrated. I reallllllly wanted to see the dry floral bouquet in the bathroom 😭😭😭 The color pallet on Kelsey's was really beautiful too for the bathroom. I would have kept the walls white but hey, Allegra likes the peach 🤷🏽♀️ One personal thing which is kind of unrelated is I wish Allegra could repaint the kitchen cabinets instead of keeping the cream. But do you girl! Otherwise, I like the space!
Been refreshing YT just to find a good video to watch and this came. Perfect timing! ❤
My sister and I watch your channel every Saturday morning while we drink a cup of coffee. Its our new ritual. We were just saying that we would like to see another Style Selected... and now here it is! Really loving the Kallax hack - I love when you guys use tools because then I'm like "I can do that too!"
i loved becky's office space design but i sooo wanted to see kelsey's bathroom design! that tub and the floor change would be awesome!
We love a good vintage element
Why dont you work together on a concept instead of two? I dont really like the competition aspect of this series.
I agree, it makes me uncomfortable watching it 😂
That’s kinda the whole point though?
Sarah Lacasse no, for me is the creating part the point of it and not the competition. Together they would create even better designs.
They have mentioned they really like to have this one series where they don’t have to collaborate with each other, and can instead create something completely on their own. It must be difficult to be a creative, but to also always be having to collaborate with someone else’s style. I’m glad they have this one thing. It might be a little uncomfortable for us to watch that beginning part where they choose, but they obviously really enjoy it.
I loved every part of Becky’s design. What an awesome job! ♥️
Those shelves and the light made everything in that space better and the curtains? Game changer🙌. This is always going to be my favourite series of you guys!
I looove the bathroom, that peach is so pretty and it goes so well with the antique art pieces like the picture beside the tub 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻❤️
The curtains are amazing!!!
That light is a moment! Love it!!
I’ve always love Becky’s design more but for this video, Kelsey’s design won my heart
I just wanna say that I really salute you guys in doing everything that you do. Cause you guys really do things thoroughly and it requires a huge amount of patience too! Always admire you guys and your work 🤟🏼🙌🏼
I love Allegra Shaw and this video is AWESOME!
Talented/skilled human beings!!! Amazing job!
I really like the storage piece under the stairs. Very clever!
Hey everyone, we're doing an Instagram live today at 4:00pm to address some concerns about Style Selected. Follow us @thesorrgygirls on Insta to catch it!
A half an hour video is something we all needed. Thank you. The outcome was stunning!
I can't believe we painted a claw foot tub, but not the cabinets. The entire kitchen feels dated due to that cream color. And it's not difficult to paint cabinets once you take them apart.
Heather Cannon yes it would look better white but painting cabinets is very time consuming. I dont think they have that much time.
Perhaps they weren't given the time or budget to do that.
I loved this so much - the all white wasn’t at all stark and hospital like which is always a danger! Just wondering - is that lampshade definitely safe over that oven? 😬 I’m sure it is but I don’t know I got a bit freak out lol
Grace Felicity i was wondering the same thing! I was happy they removed the fringe at least!
If they don’t use the oven, it may not matter. It didn’t seem like it was supposed to be a living space.
Please please bring this back!!!! Love it so so so much and I have an apartment you could use that really needs some love!! 😆✨ any chance y’all are wanting to come to Austin, Texas?!? 🤞💕
YAY! She chose Becky's design! I'm always rooting for Becky in these Style Selected videos. lol I think y'all did a great job! I like the ceiling to floor curtains in this space better than in the last loft video you did.
That little vintage orange box on the shelves by the table is so cuteeeee. I want it🤣🥺
Hey girls! Your channel is the ONLY channel I don’t mind how long it is. Your editing, designs, narratives, EVERYTHING is gorgeous!!!
Looks great. Good call on taking the fringe off the light fixture in the kitchen.
I loved both spaces but I was really hoping I'd see that dried flower moment come to life haha
I like that these were simple, nothing over the top changes that upgraded the space. I would've totally put up some Uncle merchandise on those shelves to showcase the work especially when they have client meetings. Candles, folded Uncle sweaters, etc. Great job!
I see a floor to ceiling curtain theme 😏and I love it!
The black/white loft looks great. It's funny it looks like the exact same loft that you girls did last week. Even, hanging the curtains but changed out how they were hung. The IKEA hack turned out great and fit under the stairs perfectly. The bathtub looks amazing and really stands out even though it won't be used. I will say that wicker chandlier being called vintage cracks me up. I grew up with them (much older than you two) and, it was used for a more casual look. My parents had one of those hanging over a dinning room table at our New Jersey shore house. Good times, indeed! Keep up the good work.
My girl Allegra!! Love this collab. These are my favorite videos
Welcome back. That's what we want. More relaxed. More you. Good job.
I’m lovin those loooooong curtains you have used in your last couple make overs
I would have totally picked Kelsey’s design!!! The office layout was awesome and I loved her ideas for the bathroom. I wanted to see that dry flower “chandelier” come to life
That table/chairs/carpet combination was just peeeerfect!
This was amazing! I love the bathroom. So glad Allegra liked it too 😊
I am so obsessed with that tulipy vintagey lamp shade thingy! 😍 the fringe was so cute, but you're right, even just by itself it's so cute! You guys killed it with hitting the vibe of the office space just right, I loved it.
This episode is so great!!
OMG yaaaaasssss! A NEW STYLE SELECTED VIDEOOOO! ❤❤❤❤❤ LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCHH!!!!
This is better than anything on TV.
I was super worried she wouldn’t like it, but very happy she appreciated your vision.🤙🏼😉
I love when my favorite TH-camrs are in one video. I love a good 2 for 1!!
i fell in love with kels bathroom! i hope you guys can make it one day! I'm looking forward to this! The idea of the tub being this _gorgeous_ art piece ... guys! can't even find words for this
Loveee the light you put in over the table. Also v impressed by your electrician skills!
I love this look. I am kind of over seeing the same thing on every youtube design show. A few things definitely could have set it over the top but I am sure time and budget play a major factor into this part. I definitely had the same thought as a lot of other people when it came to painting the cabinets. However a simple backsplash revamp could have pulled the whole look together. The warm tones with all the stark white was so hard for me to love but the more I look at it the more I kind of love it! I feel like they kept it due to the appliances being the same color.
I loooove the Kallax under the stairs! And everything looks just nice 💕
Idk why but I don't really like the whole competition aspect. I wish you guys made your own designs but the client was able to mix the ideas from both
They've done this in the past. Maybe they didn't go over it with this client though?
They’ve actually mentioned before in vlogs/ behind the scenes videos that they do this already. Basically they send the designs to the client WAY beforehand so they can approve/change anything they want - and often end up combining things from both designs. But to keep it fun for the “theme” of the series they reenact the picking scenes live as if they designed them on the spot.
In reality the clients have 100% picked and confirmed everything (or at least general ideas, if not specific items) well beforehand.
Looks absolutely stunning!
Just a tiny little thing I noticed, everyone seems a little stiff when you are all talking with the client. I find that a handshake or a touch on the arm/elbow or maybe even a small hug can really make these exchanges alot more comfortable! Maybe make a bit of a ceremony of them leaving and arriving where you don't seem to be standing around waiting for them to leave lol! Just a suggestion :)
OR to have Kelsey and Becky to speak with confidence into the camera, introducing the person and talking about them, while the person is there. I think that would also give it a better flow. The awkward "hey girl how are you" when they're standing 1 inch away from the person is so cringy.
The reveal always comes across as awkward. I think they need to watch Mr Kate and see how they do it. They probably prep the person ahead of time how they are gonna do the reveal and it makes a difference.
Why don’t you state your favorite thing about the makeover before you criticize instead of just criticizing!! They did hard job and lots of the comments complaining...
@@alaah4183 it is called constructive criticism when it is offered with helping in mind. I want the show to succeed. I am not tearing them down in any way. I comment positive feedback on almost all of their videos.
I know what you mean, I’ve noticed the awkwardness in other makeover videos...But not really in this one. Whoever that Allegra girl is, she seemed kinda snobby to me. I think Kelsey and Becky handled the tension quite well, in my opinion.💕
My favorite part of this makeover is the poopouri on the bathroom shelf #necessities 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’ve followed her forever ever and idk what it is, but she has always intimidated tf outta me 😅
Got my first 2 months free! Whoop whoop! Thanks ladies! Kk- back to the video 😁
The angled Kallax is genius and the color of that tub, OMG. You guys need an official paint can opener, it's a little silver tool with an angled end to get under the edge perfectly, it's a game changer. And that's coming from someone that opened paint cans with screwdrivers and butter knives for 10 years, haha. Grab one at the paint store (usually free or a dollar) and put it with your tools so you always have it. :)
This has to be my favorite styled selected ever. So many great changes and I love love the peach bathroom!! Amazing job
I feel like the commenters just want a vlog style video instead of the professional polished video style this is. I personally like it, I know you want to please the viewers but if it’s a show you love the concept of I say keep going.
One thing that could make it more fun is to have the video process of making the designs a bit longer? So maybe vlogging when you guys are going out thrifting and looking for decor/furniture to fit into the space you could include that and kind of show how you made the designs based on the items you found? It’s more filming and more work for the design that isn’t going to be done..but I feel like it makes the competition part more interesting and we can get more invested in it rather than just getting presented a design with some voice over explanation.
I feel like taking some of the competition elements from love it or list it would make people more receptive to it being a “competition” and help recognize that this is fun for y’all.
I'm surprised, Kelsey's design was my fave, especially the shelves under the stairs, gold handles, bar cart printing station and floral bath
Totally inspired to shop thrift stores for my own home decor! Thank you for all the inspiration!
So excited! I absolutely love Allegra's videos. Love this collab!
I'm worried about the storage under the stairs it doesn't look sturdy and the gap between the unit and the stairs shouldn't they be connected?
Those curtains are gorgeous!! I feel like they are what you were going for in the last Stay episode but didn't quite reach there. This time around they've turned out totally beautiful!
I love both of your channels so much! ❤️❤️ Verry happy and excited for this video
I love lofts.
Love that Kelsey is wearing the thrifted sweatshirt
Are there lofts in every apartment in Canada? 😂
hahaha lofts are trendy at the moment!
Only in Toronto and maybe Montreal.
@@alyssabelanger2576 We have them in Guelph, too. :)
@@jemma50 Cool! So basically just Eastern Canada then. I've only seen like 2 in Edmonton and Calgary, we just don't have cool old former industrial and office buildings
