    Another obvious sign of a honey flow is observe how far up the front of the bees are crawling up the fronts as they're leaving the hive. Thanks for sharing Jake 👍

    Love the smell of honey. Looks like a good year in TX.

      Nothing like that fresh smell. So far not bad.

    Thank you. I keep 300 hives east of Toledo bend. It’s nice to see what your seeing. I’m probably 2-3 weeks behind you.

    My tallow has just started to put out nectar also, and I noticed the same with the blooms , some are in full blossom and some are just sprouting out, crazy year, good luck with honey production.

    Just found your channel… some of the best edited beekeeping video I’ve seen, and I’ve watched thousands of hours of it at this point. Well done and keep going! Oh, also, teach us a little… don’t have to do how-to videos but for instance I have no idea why you shake the bees the way you did and what that says about the flow, etc. Literally the only beekeeper, commercial or otherwise, I’ve ever seen do that. So drop a hot sentence on us here and there as you do what you do!

    How much longer until you harvest the honey? I am a newbie bee keeper and still learning.

      We’ll start to pull honey around the second week of June. Whenever the flow stops

    Great flow! How do you like that bee jacket? Seems like it would be hot compared to a vented jacket in SE Texas. Great video work.

      Honestly wearing any clothes here is hot... it's a half vent, so it gets enough of a breeze. I grew up here, so I'm used to it, and don't cry like a lot of the out of state guys lol.

    How do you get your storage room as cold as you do? What are you using to cool it?

    • @beekeeperjake
      @beekeeperjake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Closed cell spray foam and massive AC units with walk in refrigerator thermostats

    How many hives and employees do you have?

    • @BucksBeesS.C.

      Im in Darlington S.C. and only have about 40 hives in 5 yards

      Around 3000 hives, just me and my dad, and our seasonal crew. The size crew varies throughout the year.

    I'm new to your channel, could you explain what your doing? What does "great shake "mean? And are you just adding boxes on top? I need comb so I've been under suprering.

      Welcome! Check out my "Nectar is Flowing" video - I explain a little better there. We super on top. IF we draw comb during a flow it goes on first.
